Life at the McKee's has been very busy in the past 6 weeks.
I got the flu!! I can hardly believe it. Everyone in my family got a flu shot except me. I made sure that the boys got them, and made sure Scott got one at work. I thought that if it didn't get brought home, I wouldn't get it. I hadn't planned on the flu shot not being 100% match. I will now be getting a flu shot every year. So many of my friends helped me while I was really sick. It seemed like a long time, about 10 days.
We finished ski lessons at Wolf Mt., and then went to the Canyons to ski with my cousin and her family. My dad, Hailee (my sister), Robyn (my sister), Del (Robyn's husband) went with us as well. I keep hoping Hailee will send me some of the pictures she took. I couldn't believe how much snow. Tons!! Kai was a very sad puppy because he didn't get to go. Scott stayed with him in the morning, and then my cousins husband stayed with him in the afternoon. I keep telling him, "Kai when you are 5 you can go." We have decided that unless we are going often it isn't worth taking little kids. Mica and Spencer did so well and had a lot of fun. Mica found that skiing with your family is much better than taking ski lessons. Spencer just loved to ski regardless of who it was with. We had a blast. Spencer went to Cedar with Hailee and my dad for the few days until we went to Palm Springs.
Three days later was Easter weekend/Spring Break. We went to Palm Springs to see Tyler (my brother), his family, Michaela (my sister), and her husband. What a difference 3 days makes. Snow and skiing to 90 deg., sunscreen, swimming, and air conditioning. The girls, meaning me, my mom, sisters, and sister-in-law spent most of the time swimming and hanging out with the boys. The men split up. Some went rock climbing and others golfed. The last day they all golfed. My boys loved it, and can't wait to do it again. This is one of the few Easters that we haven't spent in Ferron on "the desert".
Last summer my mom and dad took our boys for a week while Scott and I went to Vancouver for 10th anniversary. During that time they went to a resort that was similar to the one in Palm Springs only it was in Las Vegas. While there Mica lost his sandals. So Las Vegas became Lost Vegas. Everyday Spencer is asking if we can go back to Lost Vegas. Really he means, "I want to go swimming in a very warm place where my lips won't turn blue."
The next weekend soccer started. We have been living and breathing a lot of soccer. Mica and Spencer are both playing. Last Saturday Spencer scored, the Saturday before Mica scored. I don't know who has been more happy the boys or the dad. Scott has been pretty proud about the whole thing. This Saturday is the first Saturday that the games haven't been at the same time. Scott is head coach for Spencer, and assistant for Mica. Mica has really improved this year, it has been really fun to watch him play. I haven't been able to go to any of Spencer's games, and Scott hasn't been to any of Mica's so we are really looking forward to watching. Kai is wishing he could play, he is kicking the ball around in the yard with Scott.
Yesterday it felt like Spring had fnally arrived in Northern Utah. It was at least 80, a heat wave. The boys have been begging to go "swimming" or at least run through the sprinklers. The rule is no swimming until the A/C turns on. This didn't stop Spence. You have to remember Spence is only 32 lbs, so there is no insulation (aka fat) on his body. I have posted a few of the pictures that I took. Yes that is snow still on the mountains, and yes it is snowing here today.
I think Spencer is hilarious. This clip was taken yesterday while Scott was testing the sprinklers. I asked Spencer to dance, he did with out any music. The music is his recent favorite song.

So glad you are back and healthy. It's too bad the flu shot doesn't really do the job it's supposed to since there are so many strands.
I love the "Lost Vegas" story that is so cute. It reminds me of Tasha and "Santa Diego" which is where she would like to go. Beach, swimming, no blue lips, I guess kids are all the same no matter where you are:)
Enjoy your heat wave! What a joke? I think it was in the high 90's the beginning of this week. Come on out :)
Hi Tori! I love reading about your boys. I wish we could get our boys together to play:) It is so fun to read about all the fun things you guys are doing. I am a recent convert to the miracle of the flu shot. I got one for the first time in fall of 2006 when I was pregnant even though I didn't beleive in them. In January of 2007 DJ and both my boys got soooooooo sick with the flu. I felt great and never got it. Needless to say, as soon as the shot was available all 5 of us got the shot last fall. We didn't get it this year. Yea! Take care!
Love, Stephanie
