I'm sure you know how much I love to cook when I come to Healdsburg. Actually, my "baby" sister Jackie and I both love to cook and we have such fun working together in her kitchen. I am also a fan of Pioneer Woman Cooks who happen to make Baba Ghanousch the other day, something I had never heard of and thought looked like it could be really yummy (plus it's fun to say). Here we are making our first batch of Baba Ghanousch.

Can we all say, YUMMO?!!
Even Ken liked it, and he doesn't usually like eggplant.
We did make a note for next time to try poaching the garlic briefly, as my garlic was a bit too potent.
Yummo! I love baba ghanousch. And you've never heard of it maaa? I'm so glad that AJ and PDub introduced you to it :>
Yum! Julia/Julie has nothing over you! When will you be home?
No, I did not introduce it to anyone. Your maaa introduced it to ME via Pioneer Woman. I've only heard of it, never made it or even tasted it.
One tiny problem in making baba ghanousch however, as you maaa will attest, is that it brings on an annoying side effect of a song in your head that will not go away.
The only song I have when saying baba ghanousch is hearing Ricky singing "baba Louuuuuu". I can't wait to hear the song that went in your head.. or maybe I can wait. I think "Eggplant" needs to taste some baba ghanoucsh too.
Okay, okay, I had to Google it but I finally figured out what the tune was that Jackie and I couldn't get out of our heads the whole time and even after we made the Baba Ghanousch. If you can remember the theme song to The Addams Family, you'll be able to sing it too!
I like eggplant..I cook it in Chinese way, take a lot of oil..
We had this when we were in Syria and thought it was delicious except when they put peppers in it too. Your blog is delightful, as always, and educational and we are glad to see that all is well. Hugs from North Carolina, where we will have lunch with friends in Asheville today.

Cute pics of you and AJ in the kitchen! I can't wait to make this baba ghanousch. I wonder what song I'll get in my head? I sure want this recipe cause I love eggplant, and have a jar of Tahini in the cupboard.
