Shrinki-Dink!

Hey there! in 21 hrs I will be aboard a plane heading to Arizona... I just can't believe it! I feel SO incredibly blessed!!! And in panic mode! I have SOOOO much yet to do!! LOL! But that's me... procrastinate! :)
So, I guess that's why I'm sitting here at my computer, right? Wasting time! LOL! But while I'm here, I have a LO to show you... one I did for Spellbinders booth at Summer CHA. Check it out...
I had SO much fun with this page! The photo was taken at my DD's 9th birthday party. I got the photo idea from Pinterest... with the paper background... I just love this pic of her! LOL!
For the design, I wanted to use the Jewel Stones die's... so I cut them out using Shrink plastic, inked them thru the template and then shrunk them down using my heat gun! Then I inked a bit more to get the look I wanted, and wrapped them with wire to look like jewlery! String them onto a chain and it was a real unique acent for this page! Funky... just like the photo! LOL!
I also used several Edgeabilities on this page... Creates fantastic edges and borders, don't ya think?

Frame

This is a cheap wooden frame that I purchased from Michaels for $1.50. Yes, for real!! I stained it using Cosmic Shimmers shimmer spray in BRONZE BLUSH. I applied it with a cloth and rubbed it in good. it gave it a beautiful stain!
Next, I covered the front in patterned paper and cut out the center using a craft knife. Sand and ink edges.
I used several Spellbinders die templates on this frame. The fun part about this is that you can create ANY themed frame! Think baby, Family, party, girl, boy, Mom, Dad... the possibilities are endless! There are so many die templates available thru Spellbinders that you are sure to find what you are looking for!
For me, I wanted to create a country charm look... which I achieved with the addition of the gingham print and the lace. This beautiful photo is of my sister and her hubby...
So if you have a special photo that you would like to give as a gift, try altering a frame for it! You'd be amazed by the personal touch it adds!

Have you remembered that Spellbinders is having a design team call? The deadline is Dec 9th for the first round!! Yep, my project is submitted! :)

Until Next Time...

"Fall"ing in love with Fall

Hey all!!Sigh... I'm breathing a huge sigh of relief...Now don't get me wrong... I love having my kids at home all summer! However... this year I completely lost control... lost control over the laundry, over the grocery shopping, the cleaning, my creating, my blog, everything! It was a crazy busy summer and I just couldn't keep up. I felt like such a failure...But here we are, the second day with the kids back to school and already I feel like I'm starting to gain a bit of control again. Laundry baskets are empty, meals are planned, the fridge is full of food, kids are happy... and I'm creating today. So just maybe I'm not such a failure... I just do the best I can with what time I have...and this summer I had very little. Kids staying up until my bedtime practically, gave me no sanity time... and I've come to discover that I NEED that time more than I realized. Lesson learned... now hopefully I will be able to come up with a game-plan for next summer that works better... for everyone's sake! :)So now that I'm back into the swing of things, I have some projects to share! :)Today's project is one I did for a blog post for Simply Renee... Clip-It-Up. See the blog post here with some organizational ideas and tips.
I Can't Help FALLing in Love With You

This layout was a big pain to photograph... so take my word for it when Isay it IS straight!! ;) I had so much fun playing with a ton ofSpellbinders™ die templates on here!! GrandOvals, GrandBig Scalloped Ovals, different Edgabilitiesand the Samantha Walker's Orchard Harvest Tags and Accents.

The ability to stencil thru the die templates makes these die templates soamazing!! See the detail on the leaves and the smaller frame? All stenciledthru the template!! Amazing!
IDEA TO TRY:
I cut a square of cardstock just a bit larger than the oval. I trimmedstrips of various patterned papers and lightly distressed the edges. I adheredeach of them to the rectangle. Then I ran it thru my SpellbindersGrandCalibur ® die cutting machine using the Grand Nestabilities® Grand Ovals die template. This cut out the large oval mat! To make this photomat even more fun, I also cut out a larger Grand Big Scalloped Oval to “mat mymat” so to speak! How fun!! Add a bit of Stickles glitter and this unique photomat is ready for my oval photo!
Try playing with Ovals!! Circles have been a favorite design element of minefor a LONG time! So playing with ovals isn't too much of a"stretch"... LOL! And it gives a unique and fun look to your design!Give it a try!!
Thanks for stopping by! I will be back again soon!! Friday actually!! Spellbinders isparticipating in a blog hop with Just-Rite stamps and Want2Scrap!! It's going on now if you want to check out the AMAZING talent!! I'll be sharing myproject on Friday... right here! :)
Until then...
Happy Scrapping!!
PS: Please excuse how things are looking. Blogger is messing with me today... I'll fix it as soon as I can!
Thanks for your patience! :)

Spiral Blossoms andTissue Paper

HELLO!!!!!!! Man, is it REALLY the middle of August? Someone has GOT to be playing a trick on me!! WHERE has the summer gone? My kids go back to school in less than 3 weeks!!! I can honestly say that I'm somewhat ok with that... I need schedule... I need some kind of normalcy... and this summer has been nothing of the sort! It's been one crazy summer! That would explain the lack of posts... which I do plan on posting for you... but the kids just seem to NEVER go to bed!! LOL!
So, here I am to share with you a card and a tutorial for creating blossoms from tissue paper using the Spellbinders S4-351 Spiral Blossoms One.
Spiral flowers are found everywhere in paper crafting! Spellbinders has created this die template and another one (S4-352 Spiral Blossoms Two). These will be available to purchase 8/30/11!! They make creating these adorable and trendy flowers so simple!!
AND... You can cut felt, foam, fabric and TISSUE PAPER!! Today I want to show you the project that I created using Tissue paper!! I am in LOVE with the look it created!! Check it out!

Supplies: Spellbinders Die Templates: S4-351 Spiral Blossoms One, S5-063 Lace Doily Motifs, S5-062 Lace Doily Accents, S5-028 Nested Pennants, S4-321 Nested Leaves, S4-345 Picot Edge Circles, Graphic 45 Papers, Worldwin Cardstock, ClearSnap Cateyes ink, Heartfelt Creations stamps (leaves), Gina K Designs Stamps (sentiment), Want2Scrap Nestabling Helmar Premium Craft Glue and liquid Scrap Dots.

1. I began with tissue paper folded into about 8 layers. The more layers of tissue, the more layers in your flower.

2. Then I placed the die template on the tissue paper. I ran it thru the Grand Calibur(T). I did not run it thru a second time to emboss it.

3. I removed the tissue from the die template. Be very careful not to separate the layers of tissue. If they separate it is much harder to create the flower.

4. Beginning on the outside, I began rolling the spiral. Keep the roll tight and try not to let the layers separate. It is ok to have a fold or pucker occasionally. It is better than having it separate.

5. Once it is rolled, fold the end under. Now carefully allow the spiral to unravel a bit. This will create a beautiful, loose rose.

6. Add adhesive under the layers of tissue on the bottom to hold the flower together. Where there are 8 layers, you will need to use adhesive on all 8 layers. (I am wondering if I could have done this before rolling my flower… Hmmm… I’ll try that next time,.. J )

7. Before you allow the adhesive to dry, separate the layers of the tissue paper slightly if needed… much of this will happen on it‘s own. Shape it to suit the desired look. Then add your flower center!!

8. You can cut leaves using tissue paper as well if you like. I stamped the leaf image using ?Heartfelt Creations Distressed Leaves And then diecut. I gave it a shot of glimmer mist to complete it…

And there you have a gorgeous Tissue Paper rose!!

Remember, if you don’t have a Grand Calibur die cutting machine (yet) you can also run Spellbinders Die Templates thru other die cutting machines (like the Big Shot or Cuttlebug)… There is a chart inside of each Die Template package to help you with the plate layers! Isn’t that Fabulous??

Do remember though that the Grand Format die templates will not fit in the smaller machines, such as the Cuttlebug, as they need the 8 ¼” plate size of the Grand Calibur (T) .

I hope you enjoyed my quick tutorial today and are excited to try die cutting with TISSUE PAPER!! I know I have lots more ideas up my sleeves!

Thanks for stopping by! I will be back soon with a Fall themed layout for you, featuring my adorable 2 yr old! So…

Until Next Time…

Happy SCRAPPING!!

I Hope You Dance

Hello there! So glad you have dropped by!
I have a layout to share with you today that I did for Simply Renee.

I HOPE YOU DANCE
I absolutely LOVE these photo's of my daughter! She was in dance class this year and these were taken the night of her recital.
I titled this layout "I hope you Dance" not so much after the song though. My thoughts are that I hope she goes after everything in life like she dances... she gives it her ALL and is amazing! At only 8 years old, she already demands the stage, and I'm just so proud of her! So my prayer for her is that no matter what she does in life, she gives it everything she has, and loves every minute of it... just like she were dancing! :)
This page was created to use up some of my stash. I LOVE to collect paper collections. THis is the A Capella collection by Basic Grey. LOVE it! So soft and elegant. I also used to collect a LOT of flowers... (Now I create a lot of my own with the Spellbinders Die Templates!) So I dug into my stash of flowers and papers to create this layout. I love how it came out... it conveys the feelings and emotions thatI was trying to get across. And check out that lamp post! NICE! It's a wood piece by KaiserCraft! SO fun!!
I used several Spellbinders Die Templates in creating this page. I used the Donna Salazar S5-051 Fanciful Flights (Large butterflies). I added some liquid pearls and stickles to the butterfly and adhered it using Helmar's Liquid Scrap Dots. Perfect for adding a bit of dimension! I also used the S4 328 Foilage. LOVE these leaves!! I covered them with ICE stickles and absolutely LOVE the look!! The small butterflies are the punch outs from S4-329 Butterfly Circles. These are all adhered with Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots and have a small drop of Ranger Liquid Pearls in the center.
Here are a few tips for you...
*Take advantage of the Stenciling abilities in the Spellbinders Die Templates. I used this technique to add the glitter to the leaves and some inking to the butterfly! SO simple and very beautiful!
*Have you used Liquid Pearls? They are like regular pearls only you do not have to adhrer them individually in the same way. You add drops of a thick liquid and they look just like little pearls! They are FABULOUS for adding a lot of fine details. Check out the lamp post and the butterflies.
*For adhering butterflies, I ALWAYS use Helmar liquid Scrap dots. This is a THICK glue that dries thick. It helps to give dimension and depth to fine embellishments and is so easy to use! See the leaves and the butterflies.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I just love your comments! Each one is read and greatly appreciated!!
Tomorrow is my day for Spellbinders Blog Frenzy!! Be sure to drop by! I have 2 AWESOME die templates to reveal to you!!! I'm just so excited! Have you been following along? If not, you are REALLY missing out!! :) These designers are AMAZING! And the new releases... JAW dropping!!
So, until tomorrow... Happy Scrapping! :)

Spellbinders publications

Hello all!!
Just wanted to drop in and show you a couple of my Spellbinders projects that have been released. All of the work we do for Spellbinders is private... I am not allowed to show any of it until it goes public by them. I have a layout to show you that was featured in an article sponsored by Spellbinders on Scrapbooking.com. Then i have a card/envelope to share that was used in a Spellbinders slide show on Scrapbooks Etc. Here we go!

This is the first LO I did for Spellbinders as a part of their Design Team. It was my April layout. It is featured on Scrapbooking.com here. There are step by step instructions on how I created this page as well as some close up shots. Feel free to check it out! :)

BROTHERS
I used the following Spellbinders products on this page.
GC-001 Grand Calubur (TM) Die Cutting Machine
S7-018 Big Scalloped Border Grand
S4-206 Renaissance Hearts
S5-051 Fanciful Flights
S5-029 Nested Lacey Pennants
S5-028 Nested Pennants

Other Supplies used:
MME Stella& Rose (Patterned Paper), Canvas Corp (Cardstock and twine), Buttons Gallore and More (buttons), Want2Scrap (Say it with Pearls) , Helmar Premium Craft Glue, Ranger Distress Ink, Crate Alpha's

The second project is a card/envelope set that I created for a HSN show that Spellbinders did. How cool is that! :) It was used in a slide presentation featuring the entire design team on Scrapbooks Etc website. Check it out here.
Thinking of You Set
Here is the writeup taken directly from the Scrapbooks Etc website.
The Tulips Pendants, die cut/embossed/stenciled, create the focal point for this lovely card. I replaced the cut-out tulips on the card with pieces from the Tulip Borderabilities™ Petite patterned paper. I repeated the border on the edge of the envelope, creating a lovely ensemble. The base for this 6 x 6" card is Grand Labels One, perfectly suited for making shaped cards.
The following Spellbinders Products were used in creating this:
GC-001 Grand Calibur(TM) Machine,
S4-209 Tulips Pendants
S4-211 Tulips Borderabilities(TM) Petite
LF-161 Grand Labels One

Other Supplies Used:

*********************************************************
For my SUMMER FUN project, I created a Mini book using Best Creation's I LOVE AMERICA line... and no, I'm not American! LOL! But the red, white and blue color combo is just so much fun to play with!!
By using the 6x6 papers, it made for very little waste! And the patterns on the papers were small and suit the size of the project perfectly! In creating my album, I used Spellbinder's NESTED PENNANTS # S5-028 and LACEY NESTED PENNANT # S5-029 die templates. I cut out each page in my Spellbinder's GRAND CALIBUR #GC-001 die cutting machine. This makes it SO EASY to create a unique mini!!
Check it out!!
Here are the inside pages...
The entire album was adhered using my absolute favorite adhesive... Helmar's Premium Craft Glue! On the cover, I used some of the Helmar 1/4 inch square Zapdots to give the banner and star some pop!
I hope that this project has inspired you to create something or at least helped you look forward to the lazy hazy days of summer which have to be coming soon! :)
Thanks for stopping by! Until Next Time...
HAPPY SCRAPPING!

A few little projects to share

Hello and HAPPY EASTER to you!!! I hope that you have a joyous weekend filled with loved ones and blessings! This weekend is a time for me to reflect on what my Savior has done for me and how thankful I am for my salvation! Today and every day!

Since returning from the Spellbinders Design team retreat, i have not been able to work on one single project without using my Spellbinder's Grand Calibur die cutting machine and the Die Templates! They are SOOOOO versatile and can do SO many things!!!! I am in LOVE! :) Today I have a couple of projects to share with you.

This first project is a card I made for Magistical Memories. That beautiful swirl on the front of the card is a chipboard piece called "heart border" and it is so elegantly beautiful! I covered it in Clear Snaps Color Box Cat Eye ink and Ranger distress powder. I then melted the powder with my heat gun, which gave it this beautifully distressed look! It went so beautifully with the KaiserCraft paper!
Supplies: Kaiser Craft Patterned paper, Spellbinders die templates, Recollections pearls, Ranger distress powder and ink, My Stamp Box Stamp, Clear Snap Color Box ink, Magistical Memories chipboard, Helmar Adhesives

Can I tell you a secret?... These last few weeks I have found myself LOVING making cards! I can't believe I just wrote that... but it's true! Using the Spellbinders Die Templates makes it SO much fun!! :) Now remember... don't tell!! ;)

The second project I want to share is a cute little Easter set that I made for Helmar... again, using my Spellbinders Die Templates! These were SOOO easy to make! And using the Helmar Liquid Scrap dots made those flowers stick on SO good!! We learned a similar version of these at the Spellbinders retreat and I just had to adapt them and make some Easter themed ones! :)
Supplies: Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots, Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive runner, Helmar Zap Dots, Fancy Pants Patterned Paper, Clearsnap Ink, Recollections blooms and pearls, Spellbinders die templates

Also I have some news... as of the end of this month my term is finished with Helmar and I will not be continuing on as a part of the Design Team. I have LOVED being a part of it and will continue to use Helmar on my projects! I look forward to seeing what the new team has in store!

I also have some fun news!! I have been asked to design some projects for the fabulous Iphone app "Sketches2Scrapbook" and "Sketches4Cards"! I will be designing with Anam's sketches for both cards and layouts! This will be lots of fun!! And seeing that I do not have an iphone, I will have some free app codes to give away once my projects are in!! Wohoo! So keep dropping by and I'll have those to give away someday... though I'm not sure when yet! :)
So... lots of changes... change is good! Looking forward to lots of changes coming up!
So until next time... Happy Scrapping!!
