Do You Believe In Fairies And Unicorns Too, Judge Williams?

Chantelle Bennett, 32, confronted Baljinder Singh in Kings Lane, Newport, when her victim was on his way to work last September. Mr Singh and Ericka Bailey had been walking when they encountered the defendant who refused to leave them pass.He was punched to the left cheek by Bennett who then asked him to fight her before she used an offensive racist term to abuse him.
Bennett, of Itchen Close, Newport, was found guilty in her absence of racially aggravated common assault at the city’s magistrates’ court. This put her in breach of a suspended prison sentence for a hammer attack on a man in Newport city centre in 2019. She also pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to surrender. Bennett has 21 previous convictions for 38 offences which include wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Neil Evans, representing the defendant, said in mitigation that although the use of one racist word was completely unacceptable “it wasn’t a volley of profanities”. The court was told Bennett was working to deal with mental health problems and was a carer for her partner.

'Partner' there being 'in crime'...? What a lovely pair!

Judge Richard Williams told Bennett: “You confronted, pushed and punched the complainant before you racially abused him and challenged him to fight you.” He said he was able to suspend her prison sentence because he believed she was capable of being rehabilitated.

I'm in danger of rolling my eyes so hard they fall out of my head at this point...

Two women attacked a man with a hammer and a glass bottle after he was bitten by their dog in Newport city centre. Rebecca Tantrum, 28 (Ed: some nominative determinism there...), and her partner Chantelle Bennett, 30, attacked Paul Sutton in Commercial Street on July 5 last year after their dog approached the victim and his partner Louise Elliott who had been out walking their pug.
The judge said he would have sent both defendants straight to prison had it not been for the delay in the case, which had not been their fault. He said: "This case highlights how the court's hands are tied. Cases like these are taking far too long to get to the doors of the court." Tantrum was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment suspended for 12 months and Bennett was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment suspended for 12 months.

Could she stay out of trouble? Reader, no. Not a chance.

A Newport woman has appeared before the city’s magistrates’ court to plead guilty to keeping five XL Bully dogs.
Yup, guess who!
Chantelle Bennett, 34, of Sandpiper Way, Duffryn admitted possessing/having custody of a fighting dog. The animals are called Daenerys, Prime, Bumblebee, Duster and Violet. Bennett committed the offences on April 23.
Contingent destruction orders were made for the dogs unless they are kept under proper control.

Who thinks that chavs who can't keep themselves under control can do so with five maulers?

Well, It Is Nearly Panto Season...

...so let's have a hearty rendition of 'Oh, yes you are':

Filters - they can work miracles!
When her week-long trip to Cancun was coming to an end, Ms Hall claimed the men asked her to take two suitcases back with her, which they said contained $250,000 in cash.
'I agreed to it because there was no reason not to. It was just money and I didn't see anything wrong in it,' she said.

If there was 'nothing wrong in it' they'd do it themselves, not recruit some gormless bird! She doesn't even realise she's admitted intending to smuggle here, albeit got the substance wrong...

Her father John Hall, 59, previously defended his daughter, saying all she is guilty of is 'stupidity and naivety'.

That's all that's needed in a smuggler. Is the whole family stupid?

Why Do They Love The Dangerous Breeds?

Police were searching Jade Hubbard’s house in Gregory Street in Sudbury for the suspect of another crime when her dog bit one of the officers on the arm. The defendant, 36, was “obnoxious, abusive and obstructive”, Judge Martyn Levett said, and she refused to tell police where the suspect was - but they found him hiding in a cupboard.
The dog is to be destroyed, and an order was made for Hubbard to be disqualified from owning a dog.

Sadly, they can't disqualify her from associating with criminals. And it's a toss up who was more of a dangerous breed anyway:

Hubbard was also sentenced for a “devastating” assault on another woman in Sudbury.
Judge Levett said Hubbard screamed “do you want me to rip your nose off?” and then bit the victim’s left arm and would not let go.

Perhaps she should be taking that final trip to the vets too?

Hubbard previously admitted all the offences and the court heard she has a very extensive history of criminality. Judge Levett described her 113 previous convictions as “record breaking” and added this was her 56th court appearance.
“I know of no other case where the courts have passed every conceivable sentence but nothing seems to stop you from reoffending," said Judge Levett. For the dog attack, Hubbard received an eight-month jail sentence and for the assault she received a consecutive 16-month sentence.

Well, I'm sure that'll sort her out...

It Should Be Automatic...

The court heard that Perry, of Shirley House Drive in Charlton, has two previous convictions including one for a serious assault in 2020.
Her dog has been in kennels since it was seized at the cost of £1,600, the court heard.
Perry cried in the dock as prosecutor Mr Kalber said: “We are seeking a full destruction order for this dog.”

Why is it not automatic in cases like this? And why should the taxpayer not be compensated even if it's at £1 a week and the guilty party is on benefits (as thry so often are)?

The case was adjourned until November for sentencing, at which time the court will also decide whether the dog should be destroyed.

Why is there any question? And why are the most recents cases often women with these mutts?

'Red Flag? OK, Here's Our White Flag...'

The trial of Deveca Rose has started, and throws new light on why four children died in a burning house:
...social services had been working with the family but closed the case after Rose failed to co-operate, jurors have heard.

Damn, that's it? Must try that at work: 'Sorry boss, it's getting a bit tricky to do this task, can I just skip it?'

Darren Woodhams, a fire investigator for the London Fire Brigade, found the fire started from a either a discarded cigarette or an upturned tea light, which set fire to rubbish on the floor and then a sofa in the living room. The fire spread due to the amount of rubbish on the floor, the court heard. Jurors were shown photographs of the floor of the living room which was covered in rubbish 20cm deep and littered with human excrement.

And children were living in it. While social workers washed their hands of responsibility. In any normal world, the state of the house and the refusal to co-operate should have been grounds for more action, not less.

Giving evidence to the jury today, Mr Woodhams said: 'There was a smoke detector on the first floor landing however this was found to be inoperable and had no battery.'
Rose is not in court as she has an issue with her eyes and is observing the trial via a link from a room with lower lighting.

Once again, the inversion of the justice system, treating the alleged perpetrator as a victim.

More Proof They Are As Feral As Their 'Pets'...

...although the dogs are probably smarter:

A woman made death threats to a judge after he ordered the destruction of her dangerous dogs just days after Liverpool's top judge revealed he had received threats following the recent sentencing of people involved in the violent disorder across Merseyside. Melissa Thorp, 50, took to TikTok to post drunken ramblings inciting violence against York Crown Court judge Simon Hickey and a police officer.
Nor is that even the most shocking thing:
The mum-of-one was jailed for two years at Leeds Crown Court.
Looking at the picture, the first thing that comes to mind is 'mum of one what?'
The general assistant of a cemetery (sic) was incensed by the destruction of her pet Blu and later deleted the posts once she "sobered up", the court was told, but the videos had already been viewed by several people who reported it to police. She was arrested and charged with sending communication threatening death or serious harm. She admitted the offence, which put her in breach of a suspended prison sentence for the original offences of being the owner in charge of a dangerous dog.

You may wonder why someone with her history got a suspended sentence in the first place:

Thorp has convictions for 21 offences on a criminal record dating back over 30 years, the court heard. They include a previous malicious-communications offence, attempted robbery, carrying an offensive weapon, affray, threatening behaviour and criminal damage.

Just more evidence, if it were needed, of the sort of people who want to own dogs like these.

Complicated Lives...

The family of a woman and her three children who were killed in a house fire in Bradford have spoken of their “profound loss”. Bryonie Gawith, 29, died along with Denisty, nine, Oscar, five, and 22-month-old Aubree after a fire at their home at about 2am on Wednesday.

Wow, those are some impressive chavnames there. Or the mother can't spell. Is this another case of the sire deciding to rid himself of his future child support obligations?

Gawith was estranged from Birtle, with the 34-year-old on remand in custody after being charged with strangling the mother-of-three and stealing her phone at her home on 27 July. The 34-year-old has previously indicated that he would plead not guilty to the offences. He is next due to appear in court on Tuesday. Birtle is not being treated as a suspect in the house fire.

Oh! That's unusual. Who is the suspect then?

West Yorkshire police said the incident on Wednesday is believed to be “domestic related” and confirmed a 39-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder is in a critical condition in hospital. He is the ex-partner of a woman who was visiting the family.

So unlike the home life of our own dear Queen...

Well, She'd Made A Deliberate Decision To Ignore The Rules Of Society, So...

Sentencing Wade, whose criminal record includes 137 previous offences, Recorder Taryn Turner said her riding had led to “tragic” consequences for the victim. She said: “You shouldn’t have been on the pavement and your bike should have been mechanically sound, but it wasn’t."
“I’m quite satisfied you made a deliberate decision to ignore the rules of the road and had a total disregard for the risk that your riding of this bike presented, which was obviously highly dangerous," the recorder added.

Not some Lycra-clad lout on an expensive mountain bike this time, just the usual underclass with a record as long as her arm who has never been deterred by any of her numerous other convictions...

Prosecutor Laura McBride said Wade had been “highly impaired by alcohol” at the time of the crash. She was also said to be steering with only one hand as she was carrying a bag of dog food with her other hand. A police officer who inspected her bike after the crash confirmed it had no working brakes.

And won't be deterred by this one, either.

The Owners Are Worse Than Their Feral 'Pets'...

A grandmother who was mauled to death by two 'unregistered XL Bullys' in front of her screaming grandson was trying to break up fighting puppies with a broom when she was attacked, it has been claimed.

Even as young animals, this breed loves to do what it was bred for, it seem...

Esther Martin was visiting her 11-year-old grandson when she was attacked yesterday by the massive animals, reportedly named Beauty and Bear. It is understood the terrified 68-year-old had issued a warning to her tattooed 'son-in-law' Ashley Warren, 39, about the dogs, but the East London wannabe rapper fired back with a foul-mouthed rant: 'No one tells me what to do with my f*****g dogs.'

They certainly don't need to now:

Six Essex Police officers arrived 'within minutes' and shot dead both dogs inside the home.

Good riddance. The puppies should have been shot as well. Never mind what the neighbours think.

Julie Coleman, 62, and Mike Coleman, 74, said: 'It's horrible. I heard them shoot the dogs. It's so upsetting. I was in tears.'
Mrs Coleman said: “I’m an animal lover and it’s just so upsetting, even with what they have done.

Living next to these things? I'd have been opening some champagne for the cops.

Definitely Didn’t Need More Caffeine

A short-tempered dad "saw red" when a shopkeeper refused to sell his 13-year-old son an energy drink. Stephen Brown, 38, stormed into the off licence on Breeze Hill, Walton, and attacked the male staff member, slamming his head into a fridge and punching him in the face on September 25 2020.

Ah, Liverpool...

Brown, who has 24 convictions for 64 offences, initially denied the attack, but pleaded guilty before a trial.

Roll out the excuses!

Tom Watson, defending, said: "He barged into the shop and, with both hands, pushed the victim's head into the fridge and either threw a punch or attempted to throw a punch. Nothing whatsoever could justify that behaviour and the defendant knows it. He has indicated that he would wish to apologise to the victim and, if he were given the opportunity, to write a letter." He said Brown's son, now aged 16 (Ed: Yes, it's taken so long to come to trial he can now legally buy the stuff!), was "displaying serious behavioural problems and causing serious problems" for his parents, adding: "The defendant acknowledges that he as a role model has been appalling."

He got two years behind bars, but no doubt his offspring will pick up the thuggery slack for him...

He Was Breathing Just Fine, Though...

During the video, the teenage boy's mother can also be heard hysterically in the background shouting 'what the f*** have you done to my son?' She adds: 'Watch his asthma, his asthma, look he can't breathe, he's a child.'
...when he was getting into a ruck with neighbours and police.
West Midlands Police said they were originally called to a 'neighbour dispute' and the boy was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer, and criminal damage. Officers said 'several residents' had been arguing and there were 'allegations of physical violence'.

That's Hull for you!

Wrong Film, Surely..?

A gran-of-eight has described how she watched in horror as a young girl was attacked in a playground by an 'XL bully' dog leaving the tot's face covered in blood. Paige Dyche saw the seven year old cowering under the park's swings as the animal repeatedly went for her, tugging at her leg before pushing her to the ground as she tried to make a desperate run for freedom, during the attack in Merseyside on Monday evening.
Speaking to the Mirror Mrs Dyche says she now plays the moment over and over again in her mind, with the girl 'looking like something from the film Carrie' as the dog's owner desperately jumped on top of it to stop the attack.

Wait, surely 'Cujo' is the Stephen King movie about a killer pooch?

"The dog wasn't being aggressive it was like he was playing with his prey, like you see a killer whale tossing around a dolphin, it just kept looking at her like, 'what are you going to do next?'."

Oh, yeah, that doesn't sound too agressive, does it, Reader?

Speaking after the attack, Detective Inspector Emma Kerrigan said: "This was a horrific attack which has left a young girl receiving hospital treatment for injuries to her head and legs.
"We have seized the dog and extensive efforts are underway to establish exactly what happened and to find the owner. "

Why did you 'seize' the dog instead of shooting it dead? And come to think of it, the owner wouldn't have been able to scarper like the revolting coward he is if he'd been ducking flying lead too...

Well, As Excuses Go...

...I have to say it's really not the best. Is it, Reader? I almost pity his defence...

Mr Rogers added that the defendant, a self-employed grounds worker, has health issues as he has had seizures. He is awaiting tests at a centre in Walton on Merseyside. His late mother had epilepsy.

Social services are now involved, so surely the child's safety is now assured, eh?

The judge, His Honour Rhys Rowlands, told Bielby he had been 'entirely reckless as regards the child'.

And the child's mother? Wasn't she a tiny bit reckless too?

This Is Why These Beasts Are Now Fashionable...

A 25-year-old thug has been jailed after he unleashed his huge American XL bully to savage an innocent motorist while he was high on drinks and drugs, leaving the helpless victim with severe lacerations and puncture wounds.

It's like having a knife or a gun without the bother or effort of having to aim...

Jepson from Penketh, Warrington, Cheshire, was jailed for eight years on Friday, after admitting causing grievous bodily harm with intent and being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog.
The court heard he had no recollection of the horrific incident as he was high on drink and drugs at the time, Liverpool Crown Court heard.

Well, at least cops seized the dog, right?

Right?

It is unknown where the dangerous dog is today. Jepson was offered some money by travellers for the animal, which had clipped ears, and said he has no idea where it is now.

Well, if the police ever raid a traveller encampment (I know, I know, Reader, but go with me here) perhaps they'll find out. The hard way.

The Balance Of Power...

Pointy head intellectuals:
Dr Fred Cram, the director of the Cardiff centre for crime, law and justice at Cardiff University, said it was difficult to think of scenarios in which police chasing children without helmets could be justified.
Dr Mike Harrison, a lecturer in criminology at Swansea University, said: “I see this as yet another unfortunate situation where young, marginalised people that ride these bikes are being unfairly targeted. It is probably wise to suspend this practice [of chasing young people on e-bikes] until there is some kind of review.”
Real people whose lives are blighted:
Community leaders in Cardiff and Salford said a blanket ban on police chases of children on bikes was difficult because gangs already use them to run tasks – and would do this even more if they knew they definitely would not be pursued.
Mike McCusker, the lead member for transport on Labour-controlled Salford city council, said reckless use of powerful e-bikes was creating a “wild west” situation in some areas.
The police are damned if they do, damned if they don’t,” he said, adding that better regulation and control was needed to take high-speed bikes off the streets.

Who will win out? I think we know, don't we, Reader...

I'd Argue 'Justice' Is Exactly What You've Got...

Two police officers who followed two teenage boys on an electric bike shortly before it was involved in a fatal crash, sparking a riot in Cardiff, have been served gross misconduct notices.

This is an utter outrage. I'm not in favour of striking, but if every cop in the station where these two are based downs truncheons and walks out, I'll cheer them on...

Family members welcomed the move by the IOPC but said they still feared they might not get justice for the boys.
One member of Harvey’s family said: “If they [the officers] had not done what they did, the boys would be at home with us now. We’re happy they have been served these notices but worried that it could get blown out of the water, that there could be a cover-up. We want justice for the families.”

What about 'if they [the children] had not done what they did..'? Or if, god forbid, their parents had instilled in them some self respect and discipline?

But then, judging the area by this response, there's precious little of that to go around...

Earlier this month, South Wales police said 20 people – 17 males and three females aged between 14 and 36 – had been arrested in connection with the riot.
An open letter signed by more than 50 organisations and individuals including academics and campaigners and organised by the Cardiff Solidarity Group has called for an amnesty for them.
It says: “The unrest seen in Ely was an understandable emotional reaction to a tragedy that may or may not have been directly caused by the actions of South Wales police.”

Truly, an area/community gets the policing it deserves. So, let's see them get it. Good and hard.

Saturday, 3 June 2023

" I am sick of being blamed when I did the legal thing and handed the dog over to the police."

More on this incident:
Geroge (sic) had been rehomed to the teenager's family less than 24 hours before. His previous owners had another dog and the two pets were not getting on. The family was trying to move to a bigger house so the dogs could be in separate rooms. But having failed to find a suitable property they had rehomed George with a family friend rather than keep both of them caged up.

Because if you have a mutt that 'doesn't get on' with your current pet, to the point where you can't keep them together, what better to do with it than 'rehome' it to another irresponsible tattooed chav?

Speaking for the previous owners, Laura Wicks commented: 'I had this dog with me. He also lived with my sister and her children. 'He wasn't aggressive. An eye witness said he was not aggressive towards anyone at the park. I (sic) was just because of the breed of him.'

That's not what other eyewitnesses say...

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: ' No-one, other than the owner of the dog, was injured during the incident. Their injuries are described as bite marks. They added that the dog was put down with the agreement of the owner...
Meanwhile, in London:
Another neighbour called the police at 8.52am, who arrived with riot shields and blocked off the road. However, Anthoney said that officers were reluctant to go near the dog.

It's about time police started dealing with thrse things they way they'd deal with escaped zoo animals...

No, Actually, Because Of Their Own Actions...

The police should have said "Of course we were chasing the little toerags, it’s our bloody job to chase nuisance bikers, and they’d still be alive if they’d stopped, or maybe just been wearing helmets..."

But they forgot that it's the cover-up that does for you, always.

Witnesses are now blasting the 'lying' police force for 'bullying' local youths as residences (sic) warn the community has 'lost confidence in the police'.
The police probably didn't have any confidence in the so-called 'community' to lose by now...
'My nephew and his best mate are dead because they chased him on a little electric motorbike,' Kyrees' uncle told The Times.
Harvey's godmother, Bridy Bool, insisted the boys had done nothing to spark a police 'chase', adding: 'They were bare-faced innocent children.'

Errr, yeah, if you say so...

If you can't tell someone's true character by the company they keep, you certainly can by who turns up to 'mourn':

Jane Palmer watched from a window as people set fire to her car, saying: 'I'm disabled so now I'm trapped without my car. Why are they doing this? It's just silly.'
Another resident alleged the riots were caused by 'lots of children' who were being 'encouraged' by adults.
'It was very scary,' one local told The Mirror. 'There was a lot of people. Lots of children, I was very surprised at how many children and how many adults encouraging them. They were throwing stuff at the police.'

You shouldn't have been surprised, though, should you?

Why Should He Show Emotion..?

Brandon Ali stared across at the press bench in court. Defiant, dishonest to his core, and completely unrepentant, he showed no reaction as he was sentenced to 21-years in prison for murder, in the summer of last year.
Four months later, Ali simply shrugged as he was handed an 11-month jail term for posting a radio stuffed full of drugs to an inmate in August, 2020. That sentence runs alongside his current 21-year minimum term, meaning he spends no extra time behind bars.
Three months after that, Ali stood staring at the press bench once again, as he was brought out of his cell to attend court. This time he was given a three-year prison stretch, after a shotgun with his DNA all over it was found buried near a children's park.

After all, this is no horrifying fate. It's 2023, not 1823, and he'll probably have a cushier life behind bars than on the other side of them.

There has never been a hint of remorse shown by the former Hemlington drug dealer - although he must surely regret his actions now he has days on end with nothing to do but think, whilst holed up in prison.

Must he? Why? And why would he turn to crime, when he's not even good at it?

Ali is the antithesis of a clever or sophisticated criminal. He killed a man in front of people on a residential street. And he left his DNA all over a shotgun, and on the drugs inside the radio.
But he has never shown any emotion - not when he was handed a life term in prison, nor when the harrowing details of Mr Eland's fatal injuries were read out to a courtroom, packed full of the victim's family and friends. His mother, who has attended all of his court cases, shouted "see you son" as he was last led out of court.

Ah. QED.

Wednesday, 22 February 2023

"Anna has shared a video of the dog in question sauntering away after the attack. "

It's the piece of shit dog owner that's doing the 'sauntering', ands yes, the dog is exactly the sort you'd imagine:
Anna added: "He was so shocked and couldn’t really walk. He tried to vomit and couldn’t do that, he wouldn’t drink any water either. We took him to the emergency vet and they did a scan and found really really bad internal bleeding. So they opened him up and did surgery, his stomach and his liver were both torn which they stitched up.
"He was in emergency care overnight though and just didn’t cope and his heart stopped. These type of bulldogs they need to be muzzled or they need to be on a lead and not anywhere near where kids are."

But sadly, no-one's listening, Anna.

Anna has an appointment to report the attack to the police on Wednesday, February 22.

Pretty much a waste of time. In the States, they know how to deal with these incidents
