Christmas Lights at Temple Square!

 My World!
I love these kids soooo much!

We found this spot that was perfect for taking pictures that  showcased the beautiful lights with Temple peaking out behind it.  Love these pictures sooo much!

We also had a gingerbread making contest.  We broke into teams--Berklee, Mom, Brevin vs Brightyn and Dad.  Dad was very impatient and broke their icing bag.  Brightyn did an amazing job on decorating their gingerbread house even with a broken icing bag.   She was a trooper!  haha

Merry Christmas 2018!

It was such a fun and wonderful Christmas with all my favorite people.  The month of December has been sooooo super busy for our family between Berklee's dance schedule, Brevin's basketball games and Brightyn's drill schedule I barely had time to get Christmas ready.  So over the break we have tried to do as much fun Christmas stuff as we can fit in.  This year I gave everyone $25 and told them they had to put together the funniest/ugliest Christmas outfit to wear on Christmas Eve.  It was soooo much fun.  Jason and Brevin weren't so happy about participating but Jason ended up having the most fun shopping at Walmart putting his outfit together.  We had to drag him out of the store.

Of course we had to have matching family Christmas jammies!  One of our favorite traditions!

 Buddy the Elf!

 Making cookies for Santa!
My kids still love this tradition.  I love that they still love to make cookies for Santa.

They still love to sleep in the same room together on Christmas Eve.  This year they chose Brightyn's room because for her birthday she got a brand new queen size bed and Berklee wanted to try it out.

It is Brevin's turn to go down the stairs first this year.  I love how Ella is right there with them.

Of course Ella got a new bed!
Jason gave the kids a piece of the old Viewmont gym floor engraved since all of our kids have either played or danced on that floor.

It was a wonderful Christmas!  I'm so grateful for our little family, good health, our Savior and our many, many, many blessings!

Christmas Dance Recital

This cutie did such a fabulous job at her dance recital.  She amazes me.  She works so hard with drill and dance studio.  I don't know how she keeps up with her busy dance schedule and keeps all her dances straight. But she is incredible.  I love watching my Brightyn Anne dance.

S U R P R I S E!!!!!!

On Saturday I threw a surprise birthday party for Brightyn.  I felt so bad that all she did on her 16th birthday was two a days of drill practice (6 hours of practice)  and school.  We didn't even have time to go to dinner that week as a family.  So I was determined to make her 16th birthday feel a little special.  I'm happy to report that I was able to pull off the fun surprise.  We went to dinner as a family and then the girls went shopping as Jason went back to the house to set it up and wait for her guests.

We had 30 kids show up.  It was soooo fun to see her expression when they all jumped out and screamed, SURPRISE!!  I had a hot cocoa bar and donuts.  Brightyn has so many different friends from all different social groups.  It was fun to see them all come together.  I love my Brightyn Anne!

Officially Licensed to Drive!

Watch out citizens of Centerville! Brightyn has her license.  Last Friday I checked her out of school so we could go to the DMV to get her license and then went to lunch for her birthday.  We were a week late getting her license.  The week of her birthday her schedule was crazy because of her first drill competition.    So proud of this girl!

Happy Sweet 16th Birthday Brightyn Anne!

I can't believe my baby is 16!  Ugh!  It really hurts my Momma heart.  She wasn't supposed to grow up.  She is now dating and driving and I just can't believe it.  Her birthday week was insane because of drill.  We didn't even have time to go get her license.  She did pass her test.  We just have to find the time to get to the DMV.
Brightyn is one of THE most beautiful, kind hearted, talented, hard working, caring, artistic, smart young woman I know.   I'm soooo proud to call her my daughter.  She truly is an incredible person.  She gets along with everyone and is friends to all that cross her path.  She is such a high character person with a passion for anything she puts her mind to.  I'm so impressed with how well she has handled the transition to high school.  She gets amazing grades and keeps one of the busiest dance schedules all while keeping such a positive attitude.

Happy Birthday Brightyn Anne!
