Brevin and Basketball

Basketball is in full swing.  Pre-season is over and region play starts next week. Brevin has played really well in the pre-season and I am excited to watch region play.  Brevin has been starting JV as the point guard.  He is leading the team in taking charges which makes his Dad really happy!  His picture this year cracks me up!

Below is a bunch of pictures I have been taking so far this season.  It is super hard to get clear quality action shots in these low light gyms.  So these are a few that turned out ok.

Brevin is the one that does the "handshakes" with the varsity starters as their names are announced.  It is super cute.  He has a different handshake for each player.  And as the starters change each game he comes up with a new handshake for the new player.  It is really fun to watch!  Brev is the perfect person for the job.  He gets along with EVERYONE and is THE BEST teammate ever!

San Diego Basketball Tournament

The day after Christmas we were supposed to fly out with Brevin and the Viewmont High School basketball team for their basketball tournament at University City High School in San Diego. Brevin was able to fly out the day after but Jason and I had to wait until Wednesday because late Christmas night/early morning Jason starting throwing up.  He was wayyyy to sick to get on a flight the next day so we had to change our flight to Wednesday.  Jason had to go as the administrator and I tagged along for fun and to see my cute boy. The Vikes only won one game in the tourney but we still had a blast and it was completely worth it.

We felt so lucky to spend the week in beautiful sunny San Diego.  I was sad that we didn't have Berklee and Brightyn with us.

Jason still wasn't feeling 100% but he was a trooper and still went along for all the fun.

Jason and I found so many beautiful and fun things to do that we decided we want to take our whole family back for a fun family vacation.

Here is what we want to do with our family:

Torrey Pines:  Hike all the trails.
Mission Beach:  Rent bikes and ride up and down the board walk
La Jolla:  Snorkel, watch the seals, sea lions and collect sea glass.
Old Town San Diego: Eat at Rockin Baja
Sandbar: Eat their amazing tacos.  Sandbar is located on Mission Beach.

Plus there is so much more that we didn't have time for.

The View from the Torrey Pines Hike.  We only did one of the hikes because Jason was still not feeling very well that day.

We had sooo much fun riding bikes with Coach Emery, Christensens and Coach Williams.  It was such a fun day!

 We found Ella's relative!  haha
The sea lions were so cute and we were able to get up so close to them.  It was amazing.  The seals were pregnant so they blocked off that area so were not able to get a as close to them.  I learned something too:  Sea Lions have front flippers that help them climb onto rocks whereas seals don't so they have to just flop their bodies onto the beach and can't get up onto the rocks.

THE best tacos from the Sandbar

We saw Brevin for about 10 minutes total on the trip.  He was too busy having fun with his teammates.  So this the only pics I have of him.
