A First Date!!

This cute girl turns 16 in February and can't wait to drive and date.  A couple of weeks ago this poster and candy showed up on our door step to ask Berklee to the Valentine's dance.  She was asked 3 days after the Christmas dance.  I guess this cute boy really wants to take her out.
Berklee is so excited!  She really likes Alex and can't wait for the dance.  I can't believe she is going to be old enough.  Ugh!

SLEDDING!

 Berklee, Brevin, Dad, Landree, Brightyn

We took this crew to Mueller Park today so they could try out their new sleds Grammy gave them for Christmas.  It was a beautiful sunny day.  We haven't had a snow storm in a little while and the last storm we had was very heavy wet snow so it made for a very icy hill.  So icy that it wasn't really fun because of fear of getting hurt.

The sun is in Berklee's eyes!  haha
We started out on the sleds but it hurt everyone because it was such an icy ride.  It was like sledding on concrete!
So we went to sledding on our bums!  Which ended up being the funnest way to sled today!

This is what the icy snow did to two of our sleds!  Darn it!
The hill is very steep and was even a challenge to walk back up without slipping!  We still had fun.  We are all hoping for another snow storm before the break ends. We need a really good sledding day with fluffy powdery snow!

Merry, Merry Christmas!!! *2013*

While these cuties slept Santa made a visit to the Smith home!

Brightyn gets to go downstairs first this year!

Ipod for Brightyn and an Iphone for Berklee.

It was a wonderful Christmas morning.  No one was sick, the sun was shining brightly, everyone got something from their wish list, we were all together as a family and enjoyed each other's company.
Brevin was so excited to get his ping pong table!
Santa made sure that Ella was taken care of as well.
Ella LOVES her new bed from Santa!
 A Christmas Explosion!
A friendly game of ping pong before we headed over to Grammy's for dinner and some more spoiling!

It was a WONDERFUL Christmas Day.
I love Christmas and I always have mixed feelings when it is over.  I love the New Year and the hope that it brings with a fresh new start.  I always hate saying good bye to the Holidays because I know that next year my kids will be one year older and things will be a little bit different.  I really don't like my kids growing up.  I hate to see the magic slip away slowly!
 Hugs for Grammy!
More hugs!

Christmas Eve--2013

Ella would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas!
We had wonderful Christmas Eve together.  Grammy came over and we enjoyed a dinner of tri tip, little smokies, crash hot potatoes, shrimp and veges. Of course we watched "A Christmas Story" because it wouldn't be Christmas Eve without watching that classic.  We had our small, but sweet nativity.  Then we opened our PJ's and went on our annual Christmas Eve Lights drive.  The lights were awesome this year!  The Santa house had some new additions and it was fabulous!

We mixed up a bit this year and did peanut butter Rudolph cookies this year instead of our traditional sugar cookies.  Santa loves peanut butter!

Frosty the Snowman, An Apron and our Tree!

Brightyn, Landree, Hallie
After church these cute girls headed out to play in the snow.  Our last snow storm was very heavy snow--the perfect packing snow to make the perfect snowman.
 Meet Frosty!

In Brevin's CTE class he has been sewing.  On Friday he came home with this cute apron for me.  He was so proud of himself.  He had been so worried about sewing and was stressed every day before that class.  He did a great job!  He sat and told me step by step how he made the apron.  He even used a surger.   It was so cute!  He had such a sense of accomplishment!
I love the color of our tree this year.  I can't wait for the after Christmas sales so I can find some more aqua blue colored ornaments and decorations.

The Lights at Temple Square

Today we took this crew to Salt Lake to see the lights and have some fun in the city.  We rode the Front Runner because the kids love it and Grammy has never been on it before.
  Waiting for the train!

How Brevin spent his time on the train!
 Waiting for the movie!
We decided to see the Joseph Smith movie while we were there.  It is always so good.  The kids and Grammy loved it!

After the movie the lights were on for us to enjoy!  It seemed like Temple Square was lacking some of its lights this year.  Kind of weird.  Maybe it was just tonight they were experiencing difficulties!

This is a spot that we always love to take a picture.  This year only one of the trees was lit up so we didn't have our normal pretty back ground.  Very weird!

It was COLD outside so everyone was happy to get back home to our warm cozy house to enjoy pizza and cinnamon caramel white hot chocolate.  That is a mouth full to say but it was soooo super yummy!  I think it will be a new tradition from here on out!
