Another Pinewood Derby!

My two favorite guys!
Brevin with his "borrowed" car!

Testing the cars!

The poor unsuccessful orangesicle car! This poor little car struggled! Jason was so irritated because he thought he finally had the weight thing figured out. Well, it turns out the weight was figured out but the wheels were the problem! The car they made Brevin's very first year was the best and did very well. I told them they needed to stick with their old car!

Oh well, a nice gentleman in our ward that made one for fun loaned his car to Brevin and it did well! So all was well. I am glad it happened this year and not the last two years or we would have had a crying little boy on our hands. I think Dad was about to cry. He was very frustrated!!! OH, we LOVE pinewood derby! NOT!

Our ward always does such a great job decorating! It makes it so much fun for the boys. They have music and a fun announcer that enhances the racing experience!

Ready, 3-2-1

The pit crew adding the icky black powder to the wheels that won't come off your hands!
(The stuff that makes Mom's crazy because it gets all over their clothes!)

Well, his car didn't work out so well this year but Brevin still had fun!

Treasures!

I was washing coats the other day. I decided that I had better go through the pockets before throwing them in and look what I found! I will give you one guess on whos coat these treasures came from? Yup, little Miss Brightyn. She has a couple of things in there from two different Holidays. I guess you can tell by her pockets that it has been awhile since I washed the coats. ((HAHA))

Basketball Season Begins!

Actually it began a week ago. I am just slow at taking and posting some pictures. I still can't get great pics in the gym because of the poor lighting. So these were the best ones!
Brevin is playing on a comp team this year and also a Jr Jazz team. He is having a blast!

Both of his teams have won all of their games so far!!

I love the tongue!

Brevin was thrilled to be able to have jersery number 11!

Post Nutcracker Party

Drew & Berklee
Sigh.....and take a breath. That is exactly how I felt once the Nutcracker was over. It was an amazing experience and so much fun. But boy was it a lot of work for me. Thursday night Ballet West threw a post Nutcracker party for cast members and their families. The party was held at the Discovery Gateway. They fed us pizza & cookies & let the kids play for two hours. My kids, all three of them, had a BLAST!! In fact Brightyn talks about it everyday and how she wants her next birthday party there.
Drew and Berklee making music. I love how focused Berklee is that she has her tongue out to help her. Notice the song they are tyring to play! HAHA!

The group working on a song together!

Brevin and Jamo

This picture just cracks me up. Brightyn said, "Hey Mom look at me!" and pulled this pose!

An Apology!

The other day Brightyn was being very ornery and snapping at me for no reason. Which I understand because I am a girl & we girls can get that way sometimes. I told her that I didn't like being treated that way. She got very upset. About 2 hours after she had gone to bed I noticed that she had left me this note on my grocery shopping board! I love that girl! She is so sweet and tender!

Brightyn's Nutcracker

Brightyn LOVES Nutcrackers! She loves them so much so that she has begun collecting them. She made this Nutcracker in art class!
