Happy 18th Grandson

I usually like to post something on my blog everyday but I have been busy on DT work which I will be able to share with you all soon.
For today I have a card for an 18 year old boy off his Grandma.
I would like to enter my card into the Papertake weekly challenge.  They have a great sketch going on, you should go and look.

The image was off a very good friend of mine so I need to go and ask her whose image it i so I can give credit.  I have coloured him with my copic's and I added some white gel pen to his shoes and I coloured the number one on his rosette in blue glitter pen.
The papers are from my stash and the sentiment is computer generated.
I'm very tired so off to bed soon,

Whoops a Daisy!

You know when you're little you say when I grow up I want to be .....  Well, when I grow old I want to be like my hubby's Gran.  She's a tough old bird, who won't let anything get her down, even falling down.  She's currently spending time some time in a local nursing home getting over a few falls, so I thought I would make her a card to let her know we are thinking of her.
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges :
Stamp with fun - sketch used
Critter challenge - anything goes
Sentimental sundays - step out of your comfort zone (I'm a copic's girl and this is only my second go with my new prismacolor pencils)
Teddy Bo - things with wings (Bo has lost his butterflies thru a hole in his net)
Little Miss Muffet - things with wings - see above
Anything goes - anything goes
Sweet stampin - anything goes
Night shift stamping - brads (gem brad in centre of flower)

This cute guy is called Flutterby net Bo and I've coloured him with my prismacolor pencils.  This is only the second image I've coloured with them.  I have used red glitter pen for the escaping flutterbys.
The red spotty paper has been spots of glitter for extra sparkle. The black flocked paper across the centre is a bit of left over wallpaper. The flower is done with my magnolia doo hickey die, I added an american crafts gem brad to the centre.  The swirls are Marianne and are cut in black glitter paper.
The sentiment is computer generated and was something always said to me when I fell as a child.

The image is by Sugar Nellie and is called Number 1 fan.  I have coloured him with copic's.  I have added a wobbly faux stitch lines around the image and BP. The papers are from my stash and the red pegs are actually those little pegs you hang your Christmas cards from.

Happy 18th Birthday Tom

My cousin turns 18 on Friday and so I have a few cards to make for him off various members of the family.  This is my first of 2 cards I want to share with you today.   I would like to enter this card into the following challenges :
Sweet stop sketches - really good sketch (I removed the flowers and moved the text to the top)
2 sisters - gingham or plaid
Allsorts - keep it simple
Cuddly buddly - big number or letter
Creative inspirations - lets celebrate
Anything goes - anything goes
Digital tuesday - people images
Top tip - for the kids
Here come the boys - bingo- 2 squares, cute image, twine

The image is by Mo's digital pencil and was coloured with copic's.  It was a tricky image to colour with lots of shading but I'm pleased with how it's turned out.  The gingham paper is off a friend and the twine off another friend (yes, I do have great friends)  All papers have been given the paper distresser treatment.
Thanks for dropping on by today and I want you all to know just how much I appreciate your kind comments.

Why I love Teddy Bo

When I was on Facebook earlier I noticed on Teddy's Bo bit that my Dad dresses like Teddy Bo or vice versa, as Dad's a little older than Teddy Bo.
 Strange??
Well there was a card featuring Teddy Bo - Dad's upside down.  In this image Teddy Bo is dressed in hat, tank top, shorts and boots.  Now check out this photo of my Dad

You can't see it but there's a tank top under his jacket.
Now you know why I can't not love Teddy Bo!!
Sorry Dad couldn't resist not telling everyone,

My fist Teddy Bo stamp I bought coloured for the first time with Prismacolor pencils

It appears my pain medication isn't strong enough and needs upping so I haven't be able to colour or make cards for a few days now but today I have finally got my Prismacolor pencils out and have given them a go.
Today is it Teddy Bo's top tips Thursday and today's lesson is by the super talented Nicole.  I fell in love with Nicole's cards immediately, and it's thanks to her an another amazing designer Femke that I decided to give pencils a go.
The tutorial Nicole has put together is really well and made the process for a complete novice such as myself very easy to follow.
Nicole used in her tutorial the very first Teddy Bo image I ever bought so I printed it off and here is my end result.  I hope you like it.

I had all the same colours as Nicole except for the darkest brown, so my bear is slightly lighter in colour, but I'm happy with it.  I now need to make her into a card and I can then enter the Teddy Bo challenge which is things with wings.

Hello and welcome to another Magical Monday.  Well you definitely liked the anything goes challenge from the past 2 weeks!  When I last checked we had an astounding 100 entries!!!
I hope you all come back again for this challenge, which is .....
Christmas in September

and because it's a Christmas themed challenge you are allowed to use the wonderful Father Christmas and Rudolf images that I've been seeing around recently.
Our sponsor for this challenge is

I bet you're wondering why I have a photo of a coke box?  Well most of my kraft cardstock is made from the inside's of coke boxes, so I just thought I'd share that tip with you.
My wonderful image is from one of my favourite digi stamp companies Teddy Bo.  They have been coloured with copic's and I then added black glaze pen to Bo's nose to give him a bit of shine. I added glamour dust to Rudolf's hat and then for his nose I applied a thick layer of glossy accents and sprinkled some more glamour dust on that.
I edged the image with faux brown stitching.  The poinsettia is cut using my great friend Kath's marianne die.  I then added ice diamond chips by pinflair to give it a frosty look.  The backing paper is from a DCWV stack. I added some ribbon across the card in red.

A sneak peek at a Teddy Bea image

So yesterday at Teddy Bo, Gayle showed you how she colours her bears with promarkers and asked for us to share our coloured images.  Well the other day I coloured Teddy Bea, Night Nurse in with my copic's, and as I do with all my coloured images I scanned it so I can keep a visual reference of colours used in case customers of my cards want the same colours.  So today I am sharing with you the coloured image but not the card.  Why not the card?  Well its been made for the launch of a brand new challenge blog called Cutie Pie Challenges on Monday.  There's some amazing blog candy on offer now so why not nip over after reading this.
Here she is and I'm not bragging but she may well be one bear who doesn't leave this house as I've so fell in love with her.

I finished my colouring by adding gold pen to the clasp on her case, clear glitter to her cross on her hat and the heart on her arm and finally by adding glamour dust to her pom poms.
I hope you like her and don't forget to pop back on Monday for the launch of the Cutie pie challenge.
Big hugs

Happy First birthday Lilly

Last night my hubby's cousin asked if I could do her a last minute card for a one year old.  She had bought her a stool with a bunny and her name on so wondered if I could match the bunny image.  Luckily I had my Nellie Snellen Christmas with Dawn stamp and thought I could get away with it not looking Christmassy, what do you think??

The image is coloured with copic's.  I have added glamour dust to her skirt, a gem to the flower on her headband and clear glitter pen to the bow on the parcel and some of the hanging orrnaments.
The flower is a magnolia doo hickey die and the the swirls are from Marianne Designs with their ribbon flowers.

Why I havn't posted

Yesterday I went to the Great Northern Papercraft Extravaganza.  I began by doing the Barbara Grey Clarity workshop which was great even though I turned up late.  It was my first go with a brayer and I was quite pleased with my first attempt. I will post a photo of this further down.
Next came the shopping.  I did really well and got everything on my wish list and came home with some pennies!!
On a more exciting note my Niece has tentatively booked her wedding.  I say tentatively as she is currently living in Devon and her wedding will be in her home town, here up north.
She is hoping to come up real soon to check it out.  I can't wait to see her as I have only seen her once this year and have missed her terribly.  She is like a daughter to me as I have no children and I helped bring her up as her Mum (my sis) was killed when she was 21 months old.
So want to see my Barbara Grey class Christmas scene?

Not bad for a first attempt eh?  Although how anyone could get into the church with such deep snow drifts is anybody's guess.
I will be back tomorrow with hopefully 2 cards,
Hugs

Jolly good post-it note holder

On Thursday Teddy Bo launched their first Teddy Bo's Top Tip Thursday, (say that fast after a few vodka and cokes) so off I pootled to Tesco to get myself a post-it not block.  They were only 40pence so I got two, just in case.  In case of what I'm not sure, but definitely something.
I began by following Jills brilliant instructions.  I already had Jolly the G Jiraffe printed off so thought I would go with a whole Giraffe theme. *And here comes my Top Tip* I didn't have any giraffe papers so I googled giraffe wallpaper and printed this great paper off.

Jolly is coloured with copic's.   The edges of all pieces of card have been edged in rusty hinge distress ink.  I used raffia ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts in a few strips under the image.  The card candi added to the corners is by Craftwork cards.  The three tickets are Tim Holtz one's, I choose word's that I associate with Teddy Bo.
I would like to enter my post-it note easel card into the following challenges :
Top Tip - easel cards
Teddy Bo - Top tip thursday
Stamp something - anything goes
Card making Mama's - digi week
DYSU - textures - raffia ribbon
Craft us crazy - autumn colours

Off for a bath to ease my achy bod,

Today has been a rollercoaster of a day

Don't you just hate days like this?  I was on such a high only for me to find out paypal has taken payment for a cancelled payment and I ended up £11 overdrawn and now liable for a £20 bank charge.  Ho hum, you just have to take it don't you?
Anyway last Saturday I was featured on the i-copic blog in their Saturday Spotlight post.  Saturday Spotlight is a special spotlight of some customers' projects!! Every other Saturday you will see some awesome projects that have been posted on their Facebook Page.

I was thrilled when they chose one of my Teddy Bo cards, this one in fact

Now I'm off for a bit of a bloggy womble,
