Christmas Adam

We started out Christmas Adam pretty low key. It was a beautiful day so we went on a walk to the lake behind our neighborhood. It was warm and no one wore a jacket. 
 The boys had hummus and crackers of lunch. I was taking this picture to send to Poppy and then he called, so he got to witness the love of hummus first hand.
 We've been looking for a Christmas Adam tradition and I think we've finally found one- Slurpees! Our kids think Slurpees are so fun so we got some to celebrate the day- oh and that our little white car sold in 12 hours!
 So we had some slurpees and ran around the christmas lights in the front yard, it was great.




 For dinner we made cajun chicken pasta (like from chili's) it was great, just like I remember from chilis. Just in case you also secretly love this dish from chilis and want to make dinner in 30 minutes for a quarter of the price, here's the recipe.

A job?

I got a job. That's right, I got a job. I heard the BYU-Idaho had quite the online degree program and I decided to check it out. Turns out they have a ton of online classes and they needed instructors with graduate degrees that weren't already employed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Turns out that's me! After a long interview process (no really it was quite long), I found out that I have been accepted to teach HS 391 Research Methods and Program Evaluation. I'm stoked. It is 10-12 hours a week from home, it's public health, it's teaching, it's perfect. We start September 15th, we a 2 week certification course starting next week. It should be interesting to see how we adjust to mommy having deadlines, but I'm sure we will be fine. The first semester is probationary and I'm teaching a pilot class so we shall see, even if it doesn't work out for future semesters it's awesome that it is for this coming semester. This almost m

Genius Idea

So I have this idea, I think it is brilliant, and I am really hoping someone reads this and 1. tells me someone has already done it and where I can access it, or 2. someone steals my idea and does it close enough to me that again I can access it. Ok so here is the idea, first let me describe the situation. You are a parent with small children and it is a cold/hot/rainy/snowy/windy day/, someone is contagious/your kid fell asleep in the car/your kids are having a meltdown and taking them out of the car and struggling with the 5 point harness might kill both of you and you need milk from the grocery store. Normally you would try and get it at a better time, send a spouse, live without, etc, but you can't because you need milk (or bread or eggs, pick an essential item), so you have an internal debate... am I going to risk it, am I going to pull them out of the car, run in, find the item, wait in line, and come back and struggle to get everyone back in or are we going to live without

Merry Christmas!

We are planning on having a very exciting Christmas at our house this year. We are super excited to announce (to all three people that read this that have already been told) that we are expecting another baby! Yay, the due date is December 22nd, so it is possible that we will actually have a very exciting Christmas, though in all honesty I am hoping for something more around the 16th than 25th.  We had an ultrasound today, and a few things. First off, I think this kid is going to give his/her older brother a run for his money. The ultrasound tech told us this was the most active baby she had ever seen, my response was pretty much, well you should have seen Michael 2 years ago. The baby is healthy, but... crazy. She had such a hard time taking measurements with all the flipping, flailing, and somersaulting.
