Christmas Day Part 1

Image
The boys were so excited for Christmas morning, I have a video I will post later. We made Michael wait for Zach, he wasnt pleased but he got over it pretty quick. I should say that about 2 weeks ago while walking through Target Michael found some light sabers. He is really (really really really really) into Star Wars right now so he was THRILLED. They were from the Target dollar section and they light up and make sound. In all honesty they were pretty cool (ok they are pretty cool). I told him he had to wait until Christmas to get them. He knew they would be with his stocking, so when Christmas rolled around he was almost shaking with the anticipation of finally getting to play with the light sabers.  Coming down into the family room.   Stockings! Better said- light sabers!  He didn't care about anything else just the light sabers (or light savers as he calls them). There was one for Michael (blue), Zach (green) and Brian (red).  They immediately started playing and

Christmas Eve

We spent a good portion of the day cleaning Christmas Eve- we were having visitors and we had put off the cleaning for awhile. So we made some last minute cleaning attempts and called it good.  We finished the Lego advent calendar- this was awesome. I think we will be getting one every year, the boys looked forward to it every day. I do think we might need to get Brian a separate one though, it killed him a little bit every night that the boys wanted to "help" or play with the Legos (they have differing ideas about how Legos should be treated). But it was awesome, and we all loved it.   We made a fancy dinner. It was appreciated by the grown ups. The kids had a "cheese plate" with Lil' smokies on toothpicks (or samples as Zach calls them) and Brian and I had prime NY strip steaks with baked potatoes and broccoli. It was DELICIOUS. At the risk of sounding like my dad, we make this pretty darn good at home for a fraction of the price- thanks to Grandma Suk
