DO You LiKe My FrO?

Fun Weekend!

We had a great, fun and relaxing long weekend!

We visited with family and had a lot of fun playing games and hanging out with them. Alley got to play the Wii at Aunt Kim's house. She is getting really good at bowling! Then she played boxing and kicked daddy's butt. She loves it. We need to get one! She had fun playing slap jack with Aunt Kim and it was funny to watch her, she really got into it! We also went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Laub. Alley didn't want to leave. She loves playing over there. We are so lucky to live near so much family. We get to hang out any time we want!

We went to hit softballs one day (co-ed has started and I haven't played for over a year, since I took a break while pregnant, so I need to practice up.. :)) The girls had fun gathering up all the balls I had hit and throwing them back to us. Of course, they always love to play at the park and they had fun also watching mommy and daddy try to do the monkey bars and flip over bars like we use to do. Man, remember how easy it use to be? Artie and I were laughing sooooo hard at eachother. We looked like old people trying to do tricks. hahaha, it was fun! We haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I love when we just get to hang out together and do simple and fun things. It seems those are the funnest times!

KIDS say the CUTEST tHiNgS

So, here are some funny/cute little things the kids have said or done lately...... Ashlyn: "Ammon likes your milk mom." "It's okay Ammon, mommy's got you." "Alley, EAT YOUR DAMN FOOD!" (ooops...now where could she have learned that one? :)) Alley: "Mom, will you be my Valentine?" "When you get angry, just take a deep breath and count to 10." "I have good news and bad news, do you want to hear the good news first?" "Boys pee far, huh?" And everybody keeps asking me if I notice any difference between boys and girls yet, I keep saying the only difference I notice so far is that Ammon pees on everything including ME (Many times....) At Christmas time he peed over his head and onto a present under the tree... it was Daddy's present ....haha, that was pretty funny. But, the funniest one lately was when I was giving him a bath and Ashlyn was watching and helping like she loves to do. She was standing in the perfect aiming range and he got her right in the face.... gross, but sooo funny! I wish I had a picture of that and the look on her face too! PRICELESS!

Valentines Day!

Well, first I better say Happy Valentines Day! and I want to say Happy Birthday to my good friend Valerie, who I don't get to see much at all. But, I'm thinking about ya Val!

For our Valentines Dinner I made breakfast. We had Pink pancake hearts and heart sausage and strawberry milk! Not much, but the girls loved it. They thought I was so cool to make pink pancake hearts.

The girls are finally feeling better... FINALLY! That was the worst... and poor Alley missed her Valentines party yesterday, but we dropped off her Valentines for her class and she got plenty from the other kids too!

STORMY WEATHER!
So, last night was crazy weather here. The wind was CRAZY and the power went out all over town, no street lights, no lights anywhere...it was pitch black. I was at my mom and dads with the kids and Artie was home. It woudn't have been too bad but the wind was so strong and we kept hearing things hit the house. The girls were getting a little scared, but we soon found all the flash lights, lit all the candles & propane lanterns that my mom and dad had, and we were great! I wished Artie was with us, even though I knew everything was going to be okay. I hate being away from him at times like those. Plus, my cell had no service and I couldn't get a hold of him. It kinda makes you panic for a minute when something like that happens. Anyway, we survived! :) Finally the wind eventually died and all the power came back on after about 2 hours. The girls were ready to be home safe and sound after that! Ammon pretty much slept through the whole thing!

After things like that it always reminds me of when I was little. I didn't like when it stormed much (I still don't.... I'm not a big fan of the WIND OR LIGHTNING!) But, anyway... everytime it was lightning or something in the middle of the night, I would go to my brothers' room and just stand in the doorway... soon I'd get closer to their bed and just stare at them until finally Randy would wake up and say... "get in." He knew I was scared. So, often the 3 of us would sleep in their big water bed! :) Good memories! I'm glad I now have Artie by my side to cuddle with everytime I jump and freak out over the lightning! :)

My Little SiCkLiNgS

It was so nice here over the weekend...it's starting to feel like Spring already. We hardly got out though cause the girls have been sick.... I was sick at the beginning of the week with tonsillitus and then I must have passed it to them. But they were much worse. The really bad sore throat, swollen glands, yucky cough, and fevers that will not break. It's been horrible. My kids always get such high fevers and it's so scary. Last year Alley got to 105.9 and that was way scary. But, this time they have both been in between 100 - 104. So, not quite as bad, but still bad when it just won't break. They have been on antibiotics since friday and I'm still having to give them medicine to keep their fevers down. I hope they get better soon and I really hope they don't get the baby sick. I hope we don't just keep passing it back and forth, like what usually happens. I've been trying to make the girls stay away from the baby. That has been soooo hard. They just can't keep their hands off of him. They love him so much! Today, Ashlyn said, "I want to kiss Ammon, I'm not sick anymore." It was so sweet. But she is still coughing like crazy and her temperature is not back to normal. And then she coughs in her hands and then touches his hand.... :( not good! Poor girls.... I know how bad their throat must have been hurting because mine was so bad... I thought it was strep, cause it just hurt so bad. So, I know how bad it must've hurt them. Ashlyn was just drooling cause she didn't want to swallow and neither of them have had any sort of appetite. Alley is having a Valentines Party at Preschool and she'll be so sad if she has to miss it. So, I just hope they get over this and we can all stay healthy for a while.

Happy Birthday Artie!

Artie's Birthday was on Saturday... He turned the big 29. His birthday is on Ground Hogs Day so I put a ground hog on the cake. :) We had a fun time just hanging out that day and then later that night we went out to dinner with some friends. Artie and I, Blue & Juwlz, Shannon & Rocki, and Nick & Steph all went to dinner at Falcon Ridge. We had a good time. We then picked the kids up and went back to our house for Icecream Cake! Yum! I'm hoping he had a good birthday! I can't believe we are gonna be 30 soon! Scary! Anyway, I love you honey, HaPpY BiRtHdAy!

A Day in the LIFE....Of ME...

Baby wakes up for good at 7:30 am, now it's feeding time, Ashlyn is awake waaaayyyy before that and is waiting very impatiently for Breakfast...."I want cereal, I want cereal, marshmallow kind. Maaaammaaa, wake up." Alley soon wakes after that and by now we are all ready for breakfast. Baby has eaten and I gotta move fast to get stuff done before he's grumpy and tired. Eat Breakfast.... do a little exercise video as the girls try to move a long with me.... :), Get a quick shower and get ready enough to not feel so ugly and yucky. Get all kids dressed & hair done. Baby is not being so happy by now... he's getting tired and wants to be held for a few minutes and maybe rocked to sleep. Yay... baby is asleep, I'll try to lay him down.... "oh man, he's not having that, I guess I'll put him in the swing, let that rock him to sleep again." Alley and Ashlyn are playing... by now they want a snack, oh my gosh... do you kids always have to be eating???? Soon, I'll be hearing... "Mom, Ashlyn licked me." "Mom, Alley hit me." "Mom, Mom, Mom..." I guess someone better sit in the corner! "Mom, now we want (this) now we want (that). Help me do (this), help me do (that)." Baby is awake.... ready to eat, oh no, now he's pooped up his back.... change clothes. Okay he wants somebody to talk and play with him.... now maybe he'll be happy for a minute while I do some chores.... throw some clothes in the Laundry, Load the dishwasher..... okay... baby is tired again.... rock, rock, sing, sing.... he's asleep... might as well put him in the swing where I know he might stay alseep this time. Lunch time.... what's for lunch???? Mac n Cheese, taquitos, soup, corn dogs, ham & cheese sandwich???? Okay... I need to get some more chores done... oh but I need lunch too.... quick, quick... eat, eat.... baby is awake... He's ready to eat.... feed, feed, change diaper AGAIN! Okay, now finally I can eat lunch.... eat fast! Now maybe I can vaccume, answer the phone, pay the bills, get the mail, do a few business things, change the laundry, feed baby again, change diaper again, take Ashlyn to the bathroom AGAIN! Tell, the girls to clean up their messes, I just cleaned the house.... Argh! Now we gotta load everybody in the car to go to the Doctor...... Mommy has tonsillitus....yuck! It seems like someone is always sick...this time it's ME! Load back up in the Car.....drive home....Daddy's home.... yay! Good, now maybe I can get a break..... HA.... Daddy's asleep on the couch! Oh no! What in the heck are we gonna have for dinner????? Fix Fast Dinner. Everybody's ready to eat... and so is baby...."you guys eat, I'll eat in a minute." Whew! I'm exhausted and we still gotta get baths, read books, sing a song, say prayers, feed baby some more, take Ashlyn to the Potty again, Help Alley do Preschool homework... Can I go to bed ever???? Change more diapers, get kids to sleep finally! Wake up a couple times in the night to feed baby some more!.... wow... doesn't this sound fun??!! Isn't it great to be a mom! Now, explain to me again why I don't get paid for all of this??? And you know what... somehow.... IT'S ALL WORTH IT! :) And with all the kisses and hugs, "I love you's" and cute little things they say, trying to be big helpers, saying "I'm sorry" when they do something wrong, their cute giggle when they are being tickled, watching them dance and sing around the house, little baby coo's and smiles... I forget all the crazy, hectic times, mad times, sad times..... it really is ALL WORTH IT.... (even if I don't get paid.... :))

President Gordon B. Hinckley

I have not yet wrote about President Hinckley. He died this last Sunday. I found out when a breaking news report came over the T.V Station. I almost couldn't believe it. It's like I new it would probably happen sometime soon, as he was 97 years old. But, then in the back of my mind I also thought, "he looks so great and so healthy and he's such a great man, he's gonna live for a very long time." It's hard to think that we will be getting a new Prophet now. I've heard a lot of people say how they feel like President Hinckley is "their" prophet. I also feel that way, because he has been the prophet for most of my life. He is the one I remember most and he has such a great sense of humor and something about him that just makes you want to listen to his every word. He is such a great example and he will truly be missed. It's sad to lose him, but also good because I know he is now with his wife and Heavenly Father again. Something I always hope to remember and keep as an example to me is his testimony. So, here it is, his words, his testimony....these exact words used in conference of April 2006 and also his last talk in Oct. 2007........

"Now, in conclusion, I hope that all of you will remember that on this Sabbath day you heard me bear my witness that this is God’s holy work. The vision given the Prophet Joseph in the grove of Palmyra was not an imaginary thing. It was real. It occurred in the broad light of day. Both the Father and the Son spoke to the boy. He saw Them standing in the air above him. He heard Their voices. He gave heed to Their instruction. It was the resurrected Lord who was introduced by His Father, the great God of the universe. For the first time in recorded
history, both the Father and the Son appeared together to part the curtains and open this, the last and final dispensation, the dispensation of the fulness of times.
The Book of Mormon is all that it purports to be—a work recorded by prophets who lived anciently and whose words have come forth “to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God, manifesting himself unto all nations” (Book of Mormon title page).
The priesthood has been restored under the hands of John the Baptist and Peter, James, and John. All the keys and authority pertaining to eternal life are exercised in this Church.
Joseph Smith was and is a prophet, the great Prophet of this dispensation. This Church, which carries the name of the Redeemer, is true.
I leave you my testimony, my witness, and my love for each of
you, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen."
President Gordon B. Hinckley
