Thursday Challenge—"my favorite photo"

I'd like to thank Dale at the Thursday Photo
Challenge for permission to repeat myself.
I have lots of "favorite" photos, but this one
of a foggy Brooklyn Bridge sunrise
from last January probably tops the list.

early morning

I loved this view of the Manhattan Bridge
(looking past Dumbo from the Brooklyn Bridge),
before the East River fog had lifted.

The Weekend in Black and White

We've had some serious fog here in past
weeks, making entire boroughs
disappear from my 24th-floor office
 view—and making  my favorite NYC
 building (almost) invisible too.

Shadow Shot Sunday

Lately, if it hasn't been way too cold to
walk over the Brooklyn Bridge in the morning,
then it's been pouring down rain.  Finally,
this past Wednesday I deemed it both warm
enough (high 30s) and dry enough.  I turned around
to get this shot of the sun rising over Brooklyn and the
bridge totally fogged in.  Eerily beautiful, isn't it?

Thursday Challenge—"trees"

I like to experiment with shooting
directly into the sun.  If I still used film, I would
have wasted plenty of it with this little
exercise—but sometimes (especially if you get up
very early, before the fog burns off) it works.

The Weekend in Black and White

I'll soon be on my way home from a place very
different from this.  It's great to get away, but I still

love my daily commute across the Brooklyn Bridge.

Chrysler Bldg.

Anyone who knows this blog knows that
this is my favorite NYC building. How can
you not love its elegant design—and those
lights that stand out even in a dense fog?

abc wednesday —F is for "foggy"

Not much of a view from (or even of
the bridge on this morning, was there?

And yet . . . I just love the way the
cables disappear into the mist.
