I can't stop doing my homework. This is so unlike me. I usually wait until the very last possible second before a deadline to begin working on a project. I think I like the adrenalin rush that comes with the last minute push to get things done. But, I'm so excited about school and, so terrified that I might--God forbid-- get anything less than an A (that includes an A-) that I'm doing homework early and, oh, so thoroughly. The thorough part doesn't surprise me because that's how I am. The early part is new. I'm glad for it though. Still, I can see that I'll need to carve out time when I just need to let the homework go so I can hang out with Jerry.
Warren is at jury duty today. Poor guy. They didn't call him in all week until the one day he was hoping to go to lunch with friends.
It's almost 9:30 and I think I'll go clean up in my office for a bit before Jerry wakes up. Or maybe I'll do some more homework. It's so fun to be a student again!!
I'm not so new anymore but back when I was new here's what happened: after three days of "teaching" my sixth grade son at home, I realized our relationship would never recover from an entire year of math worksheets, English lessons, and the feelings of frustration which marked the end of our, admittedly few, days. So this blog documents our first year of unschooling--the good, the bad, and the better--and then it just keeps on going...

Eh Gads!
Has it really been four days since I last posted? I guess things got busy. We finished our fabulous vacation on Saturday, spent the night at my mom's in Sacramento, where my niece, Cora, played with me all evening and then let me read her a story and put her to bed. (Normally my sister is the only one who has this privilege, but since she was out on a date night with her husband Cora settled for me. It was very sweet.)
So we drove home from Sacramento on Sunday, and then my classes started. I'm taking two classes in Library Science and I already have homework and reading to do. I'm trying stay on top of it all though, so I don't get stressed out in the end. One of the girls in my class last night was saying how it had been soooo long since she'd been in school, so I was thinking maybe she was older than she looked. But then she said "I graduated in 2004." In what land was 2004 was a long time ago?! Anyway, it was kind of funny in a "how did I get so old?" kind of way.
And now I'm off to do some reading (about libraries, of course) and to bed.
