Nuts #5, 2 of 2

The second part of the final issue of Premier Magazines' Nuts! from November 1954. The other half was posted last week.

According to Grand Comics Database, this parody of the Miss Rheingold campaign was drawn by Hy Fleishman.
As was this, and the article after it.
I think many of the publishers, in their attempts to cash in on the fly-by-night parody craze, would use fillers they had on hand in order to get material to fill their humor quota.

Nuts #5, 1 of 2

The fifth issue of Premier Magazines' foray into the humor comics genre, Nuts!, from November 1954.

Note the attempt at chicken fat without having the slightest idea what's supposed to be funny.
Parody of The Caine Mutiny. Artist unknown.
Captain Marvel had been litigated out of existence by that point, though he was still considered ripe for parody. Unlike many of the other artists on this book, this one(s) obviously knew what made the style perpetuated by Kurtzman and Elder work. According to Grand Comics Database, the artists might have been Ross Andru and Mike Esposito.
