Summer Fun + Sun | Marsha Farris

Hey friends!  Marsha here today sharing a fun summer layout in my traveler's notebook.  I used the Vacay Mode cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

For my spread today, I used mainly the Crate Paper Sunny Days collection by Maggie Holmes.  To begin the layout, I enlarged the sunglasses portion of the cut file to span across my traveler's notebook spread.  The best part about this cut file is that it includes so many fun images, and there are so many layout design possibilities!  I cut out the file using white cardstock and backed it with a floral paper.  I also created an offset of the cut file in Silhouette Studio using navy patterned paper, so the sunglasses would stand out from the white background.  To complete the title, I added some chipboard phrase stickers.

I chose to document a photo taken on a recent family vacation to the lake.  I thought it worked perfectly with this fun cut file.  I layered some papers behind the photo and added puffy stickers and cardstock stickers to frame the photo.  Next, I stamped the date using my favorite Heidi Swapp date stamp and trimmed it out using a tab punch.

At the top of the other page, I added a tag and layered some puffy stickers and a fussy cut element from one of the patterned papers.  I just love the little beach bag!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope I have inspired you to use a cut file on your next project.  See you soon!

Summer by Caroli Schulz

Hello peeps!  Caroli here, sharing a new layout I made using fabulous cut files by The Cut Shoppe. In this layout I used The Rough Waters cut file as background. and for my title I used part of The Vacay Mode cut file.

For this layout I used Sweet Summer collection by Doodlebug Design, I love how colorful and happy it is!

I created few embellishment clusters using few diecuts, I love the effect.

Since all the page is so full of color and patterned paper, I cut my tittle in white yardstick to make it stand out.

I love the summery and relaxed feel of this layout, it documents happy memories of our summer vacations from last year. Hope you like this idea and got inspired to work with these gorgeous cut files.

Thank you for joining me today, have a lovely day!

Hey Girl Hey Layout with Neftali

Hello and welcome back Cut Shop fans! It is Neftali here with you today and I am back to share yet another Summer themed layout.

This time I am so excited to share because I used probably one of my favorite cut files by far! I used the Vacay Mode cut file set which is up on the Etsy shop now.

This set is seriously loaded with so many awesome options which are versatile enough to be used in both boy and girl layouts and family oriented summer layouts as well.

When I saw this cutfile, the first thing that stood out to me was that gorgeous swimsuit! I couldn’t resist not putting it on a layout. So what I did was I opened it up on my Silhouette Studio and used the super quick steps that Designer Ashley Horton shares in this video to choose a single image, and to be able to resize without using the rest of the icons. I also kept the flowers on the flip-flops to use as a stencil on this finished page...

I love it!

So, I resized the swimsuit to fit the size of my page on a diagonal. After I cut it out, I traced around it and stitched with some matching pink and minty green threads. I don’t usually go for stitching because it is very time consuming. But I felt like it would be perfect to do for this specific cut file considering it’s a form of clothing.

I also added a bit of texture around the page by using the cut out flower negatives to use with some modeling paste as a stencil. I love the subtle but perfect tropical feel it gives, and it doesn’t make my page look so bare around the white spaces.

So I decided to bring out my long time hoarded (don’t we all relate? haha) Summer Lights collection by Pink Paislee to scrap a photo of myself at the beach feeling bold and beautiful in my swimsuit.

Life’s too short to care how the swimsuit fits, gals!

I kept the photo to the bottom right of the swimsuit surrounded by a cluster of embellishments from the ephemera pack, chipboard stickers, and card stock stickers.

I balanced it all out by adding a second cluster of embellishments to the top part of the swimsuit and basically keeping that tag as my title, “Hey Girl, Hey.”

That is how this layout came together, friends. I love the fun feel to it that comes from the Summer Lights collection, and I just love the whole fresh feminine feel to it all.

I hope you enjoyed today’s project share, and I hope that you feel inspired to play with the Vacay Mode cut file set available on the Cut Shoppe Etsy Store! Thanks for stopping by, xo.

New Cut Files | Pool Boy

Are you ready for some awesome new Cut Files!  We've got some great designs in the shop today!  Most of the time, I like to work with one cut file or set, when I'm doing a layout for the reveal day, but for today's layout I combined two sets!  I worked with Rough Waters and Vacay Mode.  It's fun to layer smaller cut files over a background cut file, and that's just what I did on this layout!

I used the Crate Paper Oasis collection for this layout, but chose my background paper from the Chasing Dreams collection.  I wanted a patterned paper for the background, but I wanted it to be subtle, since I was planning to layer the Rough Waters cut file over it.  I cut the 12x12 Rough Waters design from a teal paper in the Oasis collection, and then adhered it in a few spots with some liquid adhesive to my background paper.  Then I machine stitched along a few of the wave lines to make sure the cut file was secure on my layout.

I also wanted to incorporate the Vacay Mode cut file on this layout, so I thought it would be fun to use the swim trunks to go with the photo of our son at the pool.  I would say about 85% of scrapbook products lean more toward a feminine look, so it's always good to have embellishments that work for masculine pages too.  I cut the swim trunk design from three different papers from the 6x6 paper pad.  Then I embellished each one just a little bit differently, and placed them in a clothesline design on the layout.

Once I had the swim trunks in place, I machine stitched along the top of each one, to reinforce the clothesline effect.  Then I used a mix of Thickers from the Here & There collection and the Oasis collection for my title.  I usually love layering my title over White space in my photos, and the large Thickers worked great over this photo.  To finish the layout, I added a few more embellishments to create a visual triangle.

Make sure you head over to The Cut Shoppe Etsy store today, and see all of the new cut files!  Our designs are perfect for any project, that you're planning to create!!
