Bobby. Monday, February 22, 2010 The cj gals and I were hanging out at my place, about to have dinner, when the doorbell rang. No surprise, we were expecting Mark. When I was opening the door, he asked me "eh Sarah, did your neighbour lose a golden retriever? There's a dog running loose in the street." My neighbour did have such a dog, so I went down to have a look. True enough, this big yellow bundle was madly, crazily running in my road, having the time of its life. I called out to it, but it just looked at me and bounced off. It wasn't funny for long, because this stupid dog decided to pounce on little dogs. He jumped a maid with a small dog. Lucky this maid was smart - she hurriedly put the dog on a high ledge so the golden retriever couldn't get it. Then it went after 2 maids with another small dog. The maids were screaming, like they were some sick part of a horror movie. It's one of those things, where it was so beyond your imagination, you're just too stunned to move and you just watch on. By then, we had all come out of my house. Selina then started running towards them, shouting at them to take the small dog away. She said that a man did and walked away. I only remember next dashing for the golden retriever and standing over it to hold it down, and selina grabbing the collar with me. It's bigger and stronger than it looks. It's quite young too. After we had the dog, the question was what to do with it. It wasn't my neighbour's dog - Cleo's in the house, and female. Collar, but no tag. Dong called a few pet clinics, but they were mostly closed. Then. figuring that the dog has to live somewhere nearby, we decided to let the dog lead us back to his home. It seemed like a ridonculous idea, when this dog agitated all the other dogs in the houses we walked past. This clown just wants to disturb small dogs, and yet become a coward with its tail between it legs when it comes to a German Shepherd, or when it's overcome by numbers. In the end, it brought us back to my road. Somehow, whether it turned right or left was decisive. Left was where we came from (my house). When it turned right, and we walked a bit, it hit me that there was a house I always walked past on the way home which kept a golden retriever on the balcony. As we walked closer, the wide open gates were indicative. After shouting loads to grab their attention.. the people inside finally responded. They didn't even realise their dog had gone missing. That's how we met, and returned, Bobby. fengshui! Saturday, February 20, 2010 About fengshui. Remember that period of time, with "Plant a Tree" day and all that government efforts in increasing the greenery in Singapore? Mum just told me that apparently, from a bird eye's view, Singapore looks like a crab. According to a fengshui master, that Singapore (previously.. or not..), with its little vegetation, entails that there's a lot of red soil. This is not good, because it makes Singapore a red crab, which is a dead one. Hence, the advice is to plant more trees and greenery, so that this crab is alive, making Singapore vibrant and thriving. i.e. a green one. P.S. This is actually addictive - http://www.pictorymag.com gotta reach out more. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 I think I've forgotten how to socialise/ make friends. All it takes it's an introduction, and I couldn't do it. It's quite.. horrifying. I think I've settled too deep into the comfort zone to venture out. Gotta change. Quite a quiet CNY. A few funerals, so we couldn't go to a few houses. I think we made up by the food we ate. Omg.. so. much. food. Damn shiok, but i'm also injured, rofl. Ash Wed's coming up, so I guess that can be the Holy cure. LOL :P I watched Biggest Loser a few days ago. I was so disgusted by it, I felt compelled to put it as my fb status. Omg.. Hafiz is a total moron! "I heart Christine" -_- So sickening! I saw the most spoilt dog in my life last night. It was a toy dog, a bit poodle-ish. and that dog was carried around the house like a baby. It looks so meek and pampered! The owner told us that whenever the dog pees, they have to wipe its feet beforehand -_- and the best part, was that it fell asleep in the owner's arms - it didn't even bother to move. My gosh.. I would have thrown out that pooch. Lots of movies on my mind. I Hate Valentine's Day, Valentine's Day, Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief, New York I Love You, Clash of the Titans (when it comes!), Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, Dear John, Hurt Locker, Big little soldier, Nine, Kisses, True Legend.. can't wait to hit the theatre! Who's with me? :D aching arch. Monday, February 08, 2010 I strained the arch of my left foot. Honestly.. it sounds quite hilarious to me. Who on earth does that?? but when i went to the doctor, he was like "oh that's good. Here (points to the top) and here (points to the heel) means gout. This means strain." I am advised to walk less. Lol. It made me realise how much I love walking. Ah well. Skipping sch today and tmr is totally awesome (: I'm guessing it's over-exertion. Badminton on Thurs, Career Fair on Fri, Shopping on Sat. Hobbling on Sun, Doctor's on Mon. HAHA :P I'm now on 2 days MC. Also somewhat ironic is that today's class which I skipped, is called Body and Society. I spent the whole of today churning 500 words for Urban Anthropology Proposal. I just finished. It feels momentous in a way, because this is probably going to be the most ambitious individual project I've done in my entire student life. Hopefully things'll be ok *fingers crossed* Did a lot of music searching today. Found a few good songs, and this fantastic website called Jango. It opens a 'radio station' for you, and plays a wide variety of songs! pretty funky :D Looking for this song in particular, called Only The World by Mandisa. It's sweet (: There's another song - You Got Me by Matt Garner. I wonder what Zumba's like. They say it's latin-based dancing combined with aerobics, but ultimately, it's like dancing in a club. Sounds fun! In Singapore, only California Fitness has though. Hmmmm.. Kris Allen is performing in Zirca, and they're letting kids into the club. All for the $ aye.. Too bad I didn't like all his songs in the album. Then again, $99 excluding booking fee is rather steep. Been trying to save these days. I was very proud of myself last month, but this month I got too excited. On the verge of blowing it. Sigh. Slowly learning the value of money. There's nothing wrong but communication It's just a problem of our own creation Sometimes love gets lost in translation Singaporean drivers do have hope. Saturday, February 06, 2010 I was supposed to pick up my sister from Toa Payoh today. I took the exit out from CTE to Braddell Road, and kept to the far right lane, thinking it will lead straight into the normal Tp route I'm so used to. I mistook it. I was caught in a jam. Looking at the road, thought that it seemed unfamiliar, but that things should be fine. It was only halfway through it, that I realised that I was on the wrong side. The right lane said "Upper Serangoon", whereas the left said "Braddell (Lornie Road)". I must have been tired. I was thinking to myself, "Oh shit. I have to get out of this. How do I get out of this??" In desperation, I prayed, and did a self pep-talk. Then I signaled left and waited for the lights to change. I was so impressed. When it turned green, about 3 cars passed me. and then.. one lorry stopped to let me go. and.. no one honked. No one hustled me. After changing to the middle lane, it was clear and i quickly changed to the left, and made my way to tp. The lane change wasn't smooth at all. Yet.. I was really surprised. Singaporean drivers do have hope. Leonardo Da Vinci's RESUME Tuesday, February 02, 2010 http://www.cenedella.com/stone/archives/2010/01/leonardo_da_vincis_resume.html I feel a bit better now (: | |
