My movie marathon :) Thursday, January 28, 2010 I FINALLY WATCHED AVATAR :D Now my holidays are complete, HAHA. and omg.. the effects were brilliant. I was quite impressed. Normally, when people hype it up, it raises your expectations and it's a bummer when it's over-hyped. Plus, it made me really curious. Wow.. it really exceeded my own expectations (on top of all the hoo-haa). They really utilised the 3D effect. Shaw's glasses really are comfortable! Thanks dong! I'm really glad we watched it together! Plus our short but sweet chat before it! We should totally do this again! :) After which, I rushed down to catch my 2nd movie (YES SECOND! :D Thanks dong again for walking super fast speed there with me! You ROCK :D and thanks hl for getting the tickets!!! Sorry to make you wait!) Caught the Blind Side, which was really hilarious!!! Sandra Bullock is amazing. In fact, the cast acted really well in this movie. Sweet (: After which, we had a great chat at Starbucks! Thanks for the insights and the laughs! :D I'm glad for times like these :) Hiding behind jackets :) Friday, January 22, 2010 I thought I was falling sick, cos I had runny nose these past days and my throat felt funny. Today, seeing the Marina IR in a blur, I realised it's not me - it's HAZE. Ironically, today's lecture in Fullerton was about air purifying, HAHA. Also ironic was that the seminar room's air-con wasn't working very well either. Char and I wanted to watch Did you Hear About the Morgans, but they took it out. Super sad :( Instead we watched Law Abiding Citizen, cos Gerard Butler was inside. Only 15 secs of his pecs, but he acted really well. So did Jamie Foxx. It was unexpectedly gory and suspenseful, but brilliant in its plot and delivery. It makes you think about the justice system and the power of technology. I enjoyed hiding behind the jackets - thanks brudder! :) As I was reflecting, I realised.. I've kinda become a hermit. Especially the 2nd half of last year, where I didn't really go out, or get in touch, or hang around facebook. I've become lazy :( I also find it more difficult to make friends.. somehow, I'm not as open and trusting as I used to. I have to change that. During choir prac, the question of "where are you in your faith" popped up. I think I'm kinda at a stable stage. To me, God's no Santa Claus, but he's definitely watching over me. More like a caring guardian. I know I don't really go all out doing good deeds and stuff, but it's good to know he's still around :) On a side note, I don't believe in spiritual drought - I think it's a lame convenient excuse. I would like to believe that faith is built and grounded on more than that. In the train today, I looked for a way to move in, cos the crowd at dhoby was pushing me. An ang mo woman moved in, and I quickly slotted myself into the gap. I thanked her and fiddled with my nano. As I looked around, I noticed that the white guy on my right was making eye contact with the woman on my left. The thought then hit me ".. are they friends/ a couple?" and later.. "omg, did I cut them??!!" I felt rather guilty, so I contemplated whether to move, or to ask the man if he wanted to swap with me. 4 more stops, and the 2 were still making eye contact and facial gestures. I was thinking, "cannot lah, I can't go between them" (literally, HAHA.) So i took out an earphone, and asked the man, "do you want to switch positions with me?" He replied "It's ok, I'm getting off 2 stops later." (serangoon, same as me). I then resumed to my music, feeling a bit better. and guess what. As we got off the train, I thought the man would pause and wait for the woman. HE DIDN'T!!! and it dawned on me.. OMG, I think they didn't know each other at all!! CHEYZ. SUPER FAINTS. and I went home :P Saturday, January 16, 2010 My friend's blog shop. Quite cool accessories. Check it :D http://vintageatdots.blogspot.com/ it's 2am Wednesday, January 06, 2010 Hmmmm. yeah. i'm blogging cos I can't sleep. (result of excessive ps2 playing). I watched "To Kill A Mockingbird" today, on dvd. It was in Black and White. I felt quite cultured, rofl :P The actor was truly brilliant - Gregory Peck. No wonder there were so many features on him. I felt it was quite a good adaptation of the book (of which I still have to finish). Been playing Final Fantasy 12. The characters aren't great, and I can't stand the main protagonist. Then again, it's Final Fantasy - still challenging as always, in terms of quests and stories. That keeps things real interesting :D My bro's right - i'm becoming an addict. I had to pull myself away from it today to settle modules stuff, and couldn't wait to play it at night, rofl. Been reflecting a bit. Yes, once again, i've somewhat wasted another holiday. *shrugs* Then again, i've not many left, so might as well. I know it seems i'm whining, but i am genuinely worried about work in the future. Guess I really have to roll up my sleeves and be serious about it. It seems while everyone's moving on, I'm just staying still. It's worrying. I tried to read twitter in these wee hours (yes i'm bored). It still doesn't appeal to me. Looks messy despite being tidier than before. (random thought) Sometimes.. it seems people say things they don't mean, and mean things they don't say. I guess ultimately.. we're all just trying to find our way around in a confusing world. It's a new year! Let's see what it brings :) | |
