There are good people after all! :) Thursday, July 30, 2009 There are good people after all! :) MY CARDS HAVE BEEN FOUND!!! :) Bedok Police Station called me this evening, to say they have something I lost. I was ecstatic :D Too bad I already started replacing my cards. I already called the Ezlink hotline and they're already invalidating it. So I still have to replace my ezlink. Hopefully when I call Traffic Police tmr, I can cancel replacement of my driver licence. Though I was hopeful, the rational part of me was concluding that someone used my ezlink already, and that my driver's licence was possibly being used for no good. Hence.. I'm really glad that there are still good people around (: P.S. Prayer and St Antony still rocks the socks manz! (: Where are my cards.. :( Tuesday, July 28, 2009 Where are my cards.. :( I lost my Ezlink card & my driver's license :( Hopefully, someone'll return them soon. Read him his rights. NOBODY CARES!!! Tuesday, July 14, 2009 Twitter Cops. "Teddy, Read him his rights." "NO ONE CARES!!!" :P epitome of woe! Sunday, July 12, 2009 epitome of woe! I was so disappointed with the Night Festival. HL and I bought take-away dinner from chippy's and dashed to SMU. We went to different spots, trying to get the optimal seats for this event where there was pyrotechnics and fireworks. Then we realised that we were really early, and that the shows at that time weren't that hot. We headed to National Museum, which was crowded. Suddenly, the museum became really packed! To our horror, it was POURING!! This woman came around with a loud speaker, giving out noise rather than instructions. We only saw 3 sections - the children's hoop magnet display, the fashion gallery and the Verner Panton (1926–1998) exhibit (which was really good, actually. Looking forward to photos! :P) We were walking around the furniture exhibit when we overheard this. Kids who mispronounce are still kinda cute (: Man in charge of exhibit: (shouts) I SEE A FLASH! *dashes hurriedly to tell the person using camera flash, not to. Boy turns to father: (puzzledly) Daddy, why cannot use fash? why cannot use fash? HL: That's a good question! We hung around a bit more and waited for the rain to die down. Then once again, we were at SMU, finding the best place to stand to get the full view. We ended at up the main square, anxiously anticipating the event. The guy who was the "host" couldn't speak English properly, so no one had a clue what he was saying. Then this girl came up and sang. A lot of lights and smoke. After which, they focused on the National Museum, where 3 people kept spinning on this large wheel. The backdrop was this photo collage, which soon became boring. The pyrotechnics kicked it, thank goodness. Finally, the fireworks. However, it was such a letdown! The start was quite interesting and fun. We took a few photos and cheered, waiting for the final show. In the end, it just fizzled. There was no grand series finale of non-stop fireworks at all. Highly disappointing. My feet were sore from walking. We waited eons for the event. We were caught in the rain. It was stuffy and sticky in the midst of the crowd. The smoke from the pyro actually spread all the way to Dhoby (it smelt like the smoke of sparklers) and was suffocating. The last time to the Night Festival. EVER!!! and somehow.. i think I sprained my 4th finger. Damn. Thank goodness for lunch with jo, and hl's company (: Otherwise, this would have majorly sucked. Many Wonders of the World (: Tuesday, July 07, 2009 Many Wonders of the World (: The current New 7 Wonders of the World! As of July 7, 2007 (all 7s! :P) 1) Great Wall of China. Tells a little about each of the 7 wonders. http://www.instatravel.org/entry/the-new-seven-wonders-of-the-world-marvels-of-mankind-heritage-of-the-world/ Honorary Candidate: Great Pyramid. Egypt. Completed c. 2560 BCE. [Apparently Egypt was not happy that they had to compete, being of the original 7 wonders, so it was given this special status] ![]() Selina, you were right! they do go by periods :P I wonder how often till they review to have a new 7 wonders of the world. If I'm correct, they're looking for 7 natural wonders of the world, where the great barrier reef comes in. | |
