20mins late Wednesday, April 29, 2009 20mins late. I was late for my exam today (yes hl, it's my first time too, rofl! :P) There was a car breakdown, plus the worse jam I've seen on the AYE. I was 20mins late for my paper. Praise the Lord, though I was careless (stupid consonant clusters.. why can't you be vowels?!?!), I managed to finish everything (: Many thanks to HL for her prayers and assurance, as well as to her sister for help. Gan dong! :D I guess there's a plus factor for being tired - you're too tired to care. Like, at first instinct, I was worried. Then, I got exhausted and the mentality is changed from "SHIT I'M LATE!!!" to "I'm tired.. I just wanna get it over and done with." Quite surreal though, when you walk into the super quiet hall. 2 more to go. Sat and Thurs. FREEDOMMMMM!!!!!!!!! Hope you enjoyed it :) Project Spider: Save Spider from Bathroom. Sunday, April 26, 2009 Operation Spider: Save Spider from Bathroom. As usual, I woke up and sleepily made a bee-line for the bathroom to shower. Usually, there are the little funny flies who just hang around the bathroom 'cos they just like to. Suddenly, my eye caught one that was bigger and black. It was a fighting spider. On instinct, I just moved further from it [Yes, I'm not a fan. Though I'm not as afraid as I used to be]. However, I started to watch it and realised it was struggling, cos the shower doors were wet. I turned the shower head to the opposite direction. Even so, it was losing grip. It was then I decided to rescue it. Phase 1: Transport spider from shower to sink counter. I took the purple cover from the Johnson Facial Foam, and capped the spider. It jumped straight to the top (I'm assuming it's drier inside, somehow). I shifted the cover with the spider across to the door. I reached out for the toothpaste tube and slid that under the cover to transport the spider to the sink counter. Success. Phase 2: Ensure spider survives my 15min shower. I carried on with my shower, then I started to worry that the spider might suffocate. So periodically, I lifted the cover up to let air in, and also moved it from 'flooding waters'. Success! Phase 3: Transport spider outside to the garage. After my shower and changing, I then took the toothpaste tube and slid it under again. I then carried the tube and the cover to the garage. I put it on the floor, removed the tube and whacked the cover on the floor. The spider was free! :) I was quite proud of myself. I turned around to head back to the house, when.. "WHACK!" I spun around to see my maid giving a hearty stomp on the spider!!! I was horrified. I exclaimed, Me: " AHHH!! Why did you kill it?? I just saved it!" Amy: "Ohhh? What was it ah?" Me: " A spider!" Amy: "Ohhh!! Spider ah.." She looked at the flattened spider, bent down and went, in her high pitched voice: "Sorry spider! I killed you!" *faints* Man.. I totally had mixed feelings. I felt quite frustrated/angry/unsatisfied (still now the right adjective.. I know how to express it through gesture though - "UGH!!!" *hands in the air* :P), because my efforts were in vain, and yet.. highly amused by my maid's apology. Sigh.. Felt bad about it too, especially to the rest. Sigh. Thank goodness for Sushi Tei lunch with siblings - such times with them always cheers me up (: It's recess week, but I've school tmr. and a whole pile of studying to be done. I'm so behind schedule.
