I walk the line.
Pluggin' into: I walk the line + Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash

I used to think that Johnny Cash was so-so, though his voice was really something. Then I watched Walk the Line (Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon were real good man. Ginnifer Goodwin was in it too - she acted in He's not that into you.) His life was rather tough, and now I understood better where he was coming from. More than anything, I admire his wife June Carter, especially how she handled his drug addictions. Thank God he fought so hard for her.

and I remembered poetry.
Pluggin' into: Everything I Ask for by The Maine

I tried to put the poster, but it didn't pop up. He's not that into you is a fantastic movie (: I so wanna watch it again, get the dvd and read the book :P

I digressed today. but.. I'm really glad I came out. Sometimes.. friends can restore your faith in things. Thanks guys.. you all totally lightened up my spirits and made my day. It was great seeing you folks. really (:

I'm quite glad I'm taking an English module, though it's the most technical and hardest of them all. but this is why (:

The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock (opening)
by T.S. Eliot

Let us go then, you and I,
When the evening is spread out against the sky
Like a patient etherised upon a table;
Let us go, through certain half-deserted streets,
The muttering retreats
OF restless nights in 0ne-night cheap hotels
And sawdust restaurants with oyster-shells:
Streets that follow like a tedious argument
Of insidious intent
To lead you to an overwhelming question...
Oh do not ask, 'What is it?',
Let us go and make our visit.

(I realised that I blogged about The Tiger before, rofl :] and after doing this for tutorial.. it has increased my intrigue :P)

Bitten by schoolwork.

Pluggin' into: She's So Lovely by Scouting for Girls

I knew those days of incessantly watching Friends and Charmed would bite me in the ass. I just didn't expect this badly.

Well.. I've.. 5 urgent assignments due. I think. 1 of which I have no clue about. 2 of which are group projects. My instinctive reaction is "OMG WHAT HAPPENED??", but my logical rationale goes, "duh. you asked for it."

This is my most important semester, but because of the modules I'm doing, I'm also the least motivated I've ever been.

- I'm a sociology major, but the one and only socio mod I'm taking is really not taught well at all. [thanks to this module, I'm seeing Adam Smith. Damnit, I thought I left econs way behind.]
- Japanese mods seems to be wannabe-socio mods in Japan's context, which is fine with me except that they aren't taught well either.
- English is difficult, but at least they're teaching fine [thanks to them, I've returned to shakespeare, which is cool :)].
- Social work.. well, I guess it's ok, because it's slack.

I wish they had a course on Friends. Man, I'll ace that mod.

My parents always emphasised 2 things to us while growing up: Affirmation & Communication. They've always told us what we did wrong, always took time to explain, to listen, and most of all.. they always told us that they loved us. I am truly grateful for those lessons. I sincerely believe that they are important and vital, in any kind of relationship, in any context.

and it's over.. but hope you all had a great valentine's day and a happy day of love :)

P.S. I wanna watch a movie!! Who's up for Bride wars, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Doubt, Changeling, Valkyrie, Underworld, Slumdog Millionaire, New in Town, etc.. any movie will do! :D

My black jacket.

My black jacket.
Pluggin' into: Black or White by Michael Jackson

Warning: long entry! ;P

It was an exciting day today. I went out for coffee with Alex, then rushed to meet HL for movie at 3pm. Upon reaching there at 2.55pm, I tried to contact HL to check whether to buy tickets. There was no reply from her. It was very unlike her and I started to get worried.

Then, to my horror, I realised that I lost my black jacket. It's my favourite, because it looks classy, keeps me really warm and Mum bought it for me. Frantically, I messaged Alex, but he was already quite a distance away from City Hall. I was in a panic. It brought memories of the time where I lost my lime-green Zara sweater (the one I only had for a day) and I really dreaded that feeling of loss.

Just when I decided to run down to City Hall, my hp rang and it was HL! Turns out that her lecturer changed what was a consultation between him and HL's group, into a project discussion meeting *faints* As she frantically apologised, I frenziedly told her what happened. We met at the traffic lights near SMU and dashed to the MRT station. I prayed to St Anthony while we impatiently waited the train.

I made a bee-line to the table that Alex and I had sat at Gloria Jeans. 2 guys were sitting there and there was no jacket in sight. They haven't seen it. My heart fell.

We then headed to the counter. HL spotted a little pile of jackets, but it looked like just 1 blue-and-red jacket. We asked. The woman then went towards the pile and pulled something out.

It was my jacket!! It was there after all!!! :D :D :D Omg.. I was SO HAPPY!!!! :D :D :D Praise the Lord!!! :) :) :)

By this time, we had missed 3pm movie. We went back to check out other movies, but decided to go shopping instead. As we walked in Dhoby Ghaut Mrt station, these 2 japanese men asked us for directions. It was really the most unique encounter, because neither of us understood much of what they were saying! The one who approached us spoke to us in Japanese, then in bits of English and Chinese. In the end, after catching key words like "somerset" and "takashimaya", we signed and gestured that we'll lead them there and for them to follow us. It was quite funny.. a lot of smiling, laughing and pointing. It made both of us realise how useful another language was. Motivation :P

Thanks HL, for going back with me to get my jacket, shopping with me for stuff and for a fantastic day! YOU ROCK (: Thanks Alex for a fun time and your help too! :)

Things have been rather cheering lately. Picnic lunch with my dear brudder, a relaxing time at Sentosa with some close friends and the sweetest TCC ever (:, a good workout via hiphop dance (it's great to have "money ova here"! :D), catching up with friends I haven't seen in a while (ranging from days to years!).. it makes the workload and late going home times less depressing :)

Speaking of which, I met my friend Chris on 151. It was a terrible bus-ride - it was 6pm, the bus was packed, we were stuck in a bad traffic jam and we were exhausted from school. I was telling him about my Malaysia trip, that my family wanted to eat Bak Ku Teh but the shops were closed due to CNY.

Chris: Well, what about the malay ones?
Me: Yeah, they were still opened.
- pause-
(it hits us)
Chris: *starts sniggering*
Me: *turns abruptly to face him* Wait a minute.. YOU!!! Nasi barbie right?

My goodness.. damn bad, but it was real funny, rofl! I think the whole bus could hear our laughter :P

I was really thankful, because I had been feeling down the weeks before. Sometimes.. I get into this mode, where my thoughts really just let loose and spin out of control. Self-reflection, over-thinking, examining of self, wondering if the past me would be proud or horrified of who I am today.. it's an internal battle. (omg, sounds damn emo -_-) It's often during these times I'm quiet, because I'm afraid of what I'll say and subsequently what I'll later think. Thank God it has calmed down.

Well, I'll finally got my wake-up call. The snowball of school work building up was just too intimidating to ignore. I actually did some work, and I actually did not watch Friends [I'm at Season 8 now.] It feels somewhat fulfilling :) I only hope that my work somehow makes sense. It's time to crunch down and study, study, study!!!

Guess what! I bought a new pencil case today! from paper chase, hee hee! :P it's colourful and i love it (:
