Determination! Wednesday, October 24, 2007 Pluggin' into: Don't Lie by Black Eyed Peas TODAY IS THE DAY I FINISH MY TERM PAPER!!! *roars* I've been doing this paper for quite a few days.. it's just so freakin' hard to organise. I've got points scattered like dandelion seeds on a windy day. Determination - TODAY!!! *fist in the air* [Kindly ignore the fact that I'm blogging now, haha. I'm gonna do my paper right after this entry :P] More about Black Eyed Peas concert after I finish my paper! ;) YES I WENT!!! :D Black Eyed Peas Concert!!! Pluggin' into: Don't Lie by Black Eyed Peas On 22/10/2007 [Mon], I went to Black Eyed Peas Concert!!! Black, Blue and You :) We came early, cos somebody got the timing wrong :P Quite surprised that it was not full house, even 5mins before the show. At 8pm, Click 5 came out to perform! The crowd went crazy! They sang a lot of songs from their album - I think I only knew 3. (Catch your Wave, Just the Girl, Jenny) They should have ended with 'Jenny' - it would have really sky-rocketed the energy. By e way, all the band members have really skinny legs! Stickmen, tsk tsk tsk :P Initially, HL and I sat in our $77 seats - right at the back, at the side. We were super early cos somebody got the timing wrong :P The same certain twerp also expressed great unhappiness and was making a lot of noise, cos of our seats. To be truthful.. the view was quite pathetic. Like, I felt that I was watching a tv show rather than a concert. Furthermore, I dunno why the National Indoor Stadium did not switch on their screens in the middle - it would have helped A LOT. They only put 2 screens that faced the middle and nowhere else -_- As such, towards the end of Click 5's performance, we decided to move down into the middle seats - $100 priced. HL was VERY HAPPY :D Lucky no one was sitting on those seats, heh heh. It was only when we switched seats that we really felt the energy! This is what I'm talking about man - a real concert! :P Then.. Black Eyed Peas appeared!!! YEAH!!! :D :D :D They were brilliant. It was a long time since I've gone to a concert and screamed my lungs out. It was exhilarating :D Will.I.Am performed his single "I got it from my Mama" Fergie performed "Big girls don't cry", "Glamorous", "Fergie-licious" and "London Bridge" I like the Philippino song.. it's super funny :P I can't really remember exactly what they sang.. there was: - Pump it - Don't Lie - My humps - Shut up - Don't Phunk with my heart - Where is the love - Let's get retarded - Many more!!! - A short section of "sweet child o' mine" fused with their own music. Funky. Refer to Hui Luan's blog for list of songs, lol. I think hers is more complete. Like about an hour plus later, Will.I.Am suddenly went "Good news and bad news. Good news is we love Singapore. Bad news is that we have a flight to catch. Good night!" and they went off stage. That left the audience stunned (HL: "WHAT?? That's it??") Some people got up and left! Us smarter ones noted that the lights were still left off. Soon, cheering began - for encore and for BEPs to return. After like a good 5-10mins, suddenly this trumpeter came out! And soon, all the members returned to stage! what a crazy prank, hwahahahahaaa!!! :D During "Where is the love", taboo (i think.. long hair dude) put his hands in a shape of a heart in front of the camera. He's so cool manz :) Towards the end, the whole centre section was really dancing to the music! It was fantastic :D Note to all - next time you buy tickets for a music concert, DIE DIE must sit in the middle. No compromise. It's the best place to reallly feel the energy and the music. After that concert, I officially turned into a Black Eyed Peas fan :) Well, at least i'm better than HL, HAHA :P [Kidding la, rofl :P] where is the love is still classic :) The Mom Song. Saturday, October 20, 2007 OMG. This is seriously hilarious!!! :D It's so good, I even wrote down the lyrics! :D I dunno how to post the youtube video here.. but do click the hyperlink! It's really good :) Enjoy! Click this --> The Mom Song by comedian Anita Renfroe “What I have done is I have figured out what a mom would say in a 24 hour period And I have condensed it to 2 mins and 55 seconds So strap on your seatbelt – here we go.”

I said so, I said so, I said so, I said so, Psalm 42:11 Monday, October 15, 2007 Plugging into: ji lang ji pua from 881 soundtrack Man.. maybe I should have taken Chinese more seriously. I was looking at the lyrics of 881 soundtrack [Mum borrowed from her friend and I happily burned it :) ] I know my chinese is not that impressive and I do sound weird speaking it sometimes, but I definitely can read it. They just convey so much meaning.. especially the selection of the very words themselves. Not one word is wasted. That's what makes language beautiful :) Sometimes I wonder.. Can I ever write like that? I know I write pretty decent, but that calibre is like.. WOW. How do you make one single sentence so powerful? It's so precise and concise - it's incredible manz. Last Saturday, our church band sang for a wedding. It was fantastic. I liked how we prayed and how we really worked hard for this. Hopefully, things will become even better =) I received an email from my friend Alison. [thanks Ali-san ;)] It had a powerpoint slide and was titled "be like coffee". I read this before, but this email elaborated a little bit more - it had carrots and eggs. It made me think a bit.. When carrots are boiled, they become soft. Just like carrots, we are strong at the beginning, but are later dragged down by troubles of life. We become tired, fatigued and drained. When eggs are boiled, they are soft at the beginning and hard at the end. Just like eggs, we are soft-hearted and kind at the start, but life's troubles hardens our hearts. We become unhappy and distrusting. After much reflecting.. I think I probably was both. I guess that realisation helped, in the sense that maybe my stress and unhappiness is due to the fact that I let life control me, rather than the other way round. It is encouraging to know that I can be like coffee powder - I can change it and be the master of my life. In this manner.. I feel much lighter, less burdened and more hopeful. "Lord, I choose not to be downcast, I choose not to be disturbed, I choose to put my hope in You" - Psalm 42:11 I love this Psalm :) Sylvia, glad you enjoyed Saturday+Sunday! :D Happy Birthday Sylvia, 6 days in advance! :) again. Sunday, October 07, 2007 It's happening again. Is it me again? Torn between responsibilities.. or perhaps, just mere conceptions, and foolish ideas, once more. Short entry. Wednesday, October 03, 2007 I realised something today.. when was the last time I remembered my childhood? It was quite daunting.. that I have to really make effort to remember. I feel old. If it was not for my sister.. I think I prolly would feel extremely distant to the whole idea of being a child. Well, I haven't been blogging much lately.. I probably won't blog so much in the future, to be truthful. I guess it's because lately, I feel very tired. I was very thankful for the recess week - I could actually sleep in. Now that school's starting again.. bahz. So many things. So little time. The video "First Time" by Lifehouse is quite cool. I love how the room changes colour.. it's fantastic. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCPsfJUmLvw Happy Birthday Jojo! :) Happy Birthday Moretta! :) Happy Birthday Dad :D | |
