Genuine Love and a Little Shimmer to Boot

Being in love is a special thing. To have someone in your life that fills your soul and can lean on you when they need, is a part of that love. Today I'm sharing with you a card I created using the beautiful Trinity Paper Arts Collection Sincerely. I've paired it up with my favorite fancy paper out on the market from Paper Temptress called Mica Metallic and this is what I've come up with.

I love how the Mica Metallic papers take on rub-ons: so crisp. You can really see the shimmer on that paper. Isn't it scrumptious!!!??!!

To get some great dimension on this card, I used a combination of Helmar Zapdots and Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. I sprayed the flowers with True Blood Glimmer mist and they are the perfect match for the Sincerely papers.

The sketch is the New Mojo Monday Sketch, which I haven't played along with forever. Was nice to do that again.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you are all having a fantastic week. Talk soon

Dancing Ballerina

A little girl has dreams of being so many things. A mermaid, a princess, a ballerina or a bride, each little girl can put on a costume and magically become that dream. Our little girl has many of these magical dreams and when she got her first pair of ballerina slippers, she put them on and started to twirl.

I'm today to share with you a little girls dream and the papers that are preserving that dream. When I received these absolutely stunning papers in my design team both care of Authentique, I think I twirled and danced too. Seeing the magic in each pattern, the beauty in each paper! I knew that this beautiful Uncommon Collection would bring a sweet picture to life.

I used some of my favorite Helmar Adhesives on this layout. The paper was adhered using Helmar Acid Free Glue. Then I used some 450 Quick Dry on the chipboard pieces to really give them hold. The flowers got a little bit of Premium Craft Glue and finally the layout was done.Shall we twirl and take a look?

Helmarauthentique1 (Large)
Aren't those papers simply GORGEOUS!!! I paired them up with some beautiful velvet flowers from Maya Road that were the perfect match.

Helmarauthentique2 (Large)
A little Fab Scraps journal tag was inked up using Worn Lipstick Distress ink and some Fancy Pants alphas to give this dancing layout a title...

Helmarauthentique3 (Large)

Helmarauthentique4 (Large)
It is so important to  live in those magical moments. We as adults often forget the fun we could have if we just put on our dancing shoes and danced.

Warming Things Up for New Years- Handmade Coffee Sleeve

I love my Starbucks coffees. Whether it is a Pumpkin Spice Latte, Caramel Macchiatto or White Chocolate Mocha, I'm in heaven! So when I got a warming cupful, I thought why not make the perfect coffee sleeve to go with the perfect cup o' java?

Hey there everyone, I'm here today to share with you a project I created using the wonderfrul Color Corrugated papers from Paper Temptress. For the sleeve, I used Chocolate and Light Blue Corrugated papers as well as some red burlap that came in my Dixie Pieces January Kit. I traced the shape using the original Starbucks sleeve and adhered everything with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive. I used red rhinestone embellishments from the Vintage Jewels and Gradient Gems packs from Creative Charms.

Here are the photos for ya. Aren't those colors together GORGEOUS!!!!

And a close up for you to see the Corrugated papers close up. These are so great to work with, so if you haven't purchased them from Paper Temptress before, go grab a few of them today.

Well, I'm off to have a great cup of coffee decked out in my new cup sleeve. I hope you all have a fantastic day. Until next time...

Life is a Song, SING IT!!!

I love great quotes and would adore having a few of them framed and hanging on my walls. This got me thinking and my mojo kicked up a gear. I'm here today to share with you a card I created using the Spooky Iron Shelf and Potion Bottle Mini dies from the Scrapping Cottage.

I wanted to show you today how easy it is to use some of the holiday dies for different occasions. For the Shelf; I embossed it with a wrought iron embossing powder to give it an antique feel. The Potion bottle is colored with a bit of Faber Castell Metallic Pitt Pens. I paired the dies up with some beautiful Websters Pages papers and a stamp from Unity Stamps. To give the bottle a porcelain look, I covered it with Helmar Acid Free Glue. And that beautiful cardstock is the Mountain Rose Glimmer paper from Paper Temptress

This is piece that I came up with. And to think, I used Halloween dies. Whodda Thunk!!!

Hope you enjoy.

Try using holiday dies for other occasions. The possibilities are truly endless. Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you all have a fantastic week.

Until next time

When You Wish Upon a Star

Makes no difference who you are. I must say that being a Guest Designer for I Brake for Stamps this past 4 months, has been a wish that has come true. Della has been beyond generous and to work with such quality stamps has truly been a treat.

Hi everyone,I'm here with my last post for I Brake for Stamps. I wanted to save this stamp for an extra special occasion and I think today certainly qualifies. I stamped the image using Versamark and embossed with a really pretty pewter embossing powder. The perfect stamp for these feminine papers from Paper Temptress. The sweet star charms at the top as well as the flowers, are from Creative Charms.

I adhered all these beautifully feminine products, using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive and Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots . Here is a close up of these pretty papers for ya, the sparkle is really beautiful.

December Flurries

Oh how I'm beyond excited to be back on the Paper Temptress Design Team. Ever since I received my first order of Patricia's paper heaven goodness, I've been hooked!!! With all that sparkle, texture and color, how could I not be!!!???!!!

Hello everyone, I'm here today with my first project as a returning Design Team member for Paper Temptress. With the holiday season starting, there are cards to be made and today I created a card using a few of my absolute FAVORITE papers from Paper Temptress. For the card base, I've used this fantastic Violet Mica Metallic paper. The weight on this stuff is perfect for all the layering I do. It'll hold up for certain!!! I also used Canvas Silver Lustre Text weight and the stunning Vintage Silver Lustre. See the Aqua colored paper? That is the Silver Lustre painted with Faber Castell Gelatos. This is my first time using the Gelatos and I'm already hooked!!!

I embossed the Vintage Silver Lustre paper then applied Distress ink in Broken China, Dusty Concord and Chipped Sapphire, finishing it off with a sprinkle of Antiquities Frosted Crystal embossing powder. I also colored the 25(cut out of some Pink Paislee Daily Junque goodness) with a Faber Castell Blue Metallic Pitt Artist pen. You can really see the sparkle that these wonderful papers have in the next photos.

I used a bunch of my favorite adhesive on the card. First some Premium Craft Glue for the paper to paper, some 450 Quick dry for the Velvet ricrac and a dollop of Liquid Scrap Dots for that very pretty FabScraps star.

Holy Doodles, does that Violet Mica Metallic have a wonderful gold glitter to it. Can you see to pretty texture the Vintage Silver Lustre has? And that amazing color the Gelatos create?

Now you can for sure hehe. It is so wonderful to be back on Patricia's team and I hope that you are all going to love the projects that I share. Make sure you leave me a comment today, for I'd love to hear from you.
Until next time

A ribbon kit, what a concept!!!

Hello Everyone and happy Thursday. While I was outside yesterday I noticed that the tulips are starting to bloom and found a Robin's Nest. How sweet is that.
When I received my monthly ribbon kit from Really Reasonable Ribbon this month, I knew that I had to create an inspiration piece. Something that really shows the Patriotic colors in this kit. The Blue Bandana grosgrain ribbon just begged to be used, so my mojo was running. The I received some of these AMAZING chipboard buttons we now carry in the store. I used the glitter red button from the Twilight package. Yes I'll admit it, I'm a Twilight Junkie.

Here is the card I created.

If you haven't taken a look at all the new embellishments in the store. hop on by and check them out. They are truly BEAUTIFUL!

I must apologize for the colors of the card. I broke my camera USB cord, so things are a little funky. Ordered a new one though and i'm looking forward to that. Thinking of getting a new camera in the future too. What kind do you have and why do you love it?

On the Weight Watchers front. This weeks weigh in, I was up 1.2 lbs. Now I've gotta see in my journal if there are things I can change to get back on that weight loss wagon. hmmm maybe I shouldn't get on the wagon, but run beside it. That should work *s*

One last little snippet today. Make sure to leave a comment about Earth Day, recycling, or what you do to help out and one lucky person will get some Goodies from me.

Sea you Soon-Bombshell Style

Hi Everyone and Happy Wednesday to you all. Today is weigh in night and I'm doing fairly well so far. I'm down and that is what matters. Today I put a belt on that I haven't worn in ages. I needed it to hold up my jeans lol.

I've got a great little card to share with you today using the Bombshell Stamps set Homeward Bound and some Silver Lustre and Mica Metallics Paper Temptress paper. These two are the perfect combination. I love the glitter and glimmer that happens with this stuff..

For the Silver lustre paper, I used alcohol ink on it to give it an ocean feel. I do like how it turned out. The fish stamp is one of my favorite smaller stamps from Bombshell Stamps and I really wanted to play up the sparkle, so painted them with Shimmerz Paints.

I love how the overall card turned out. The colors are soft and subtle which really lets the sparkle shine through. Say that 5 times fast hehe. Well I'm off. I hope that you all had a great day. "Sea you Soon"

Celebrating a new job Bombshell Style

It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood, a wonderful day in the neighborhood...
Good Morning everyone and welcome to Friday. The weekend is almost here and I thought what better way to celebrate, than with some Bombshell Love.

I have just figured out how to make clothing for these amazing stamps so now they can go from "steamy" to "sophisticated" in a few easy snips of the scissors.
This is the March Sketch over at Bombshell Stamps and I thought it was super versatile. You can keep it simple, or pile the craftiness on. Every Month over at the Bombshell Forum, there are contests, sketches and great inspiration to pull from so check it out.
Since I really wanted to focus on the image and the clothing of this beauty, I decided to go Simple and that for me, can be a real challenge.
How is this for a "Congratulations on the New Job" card?
The Bombshell stamps set I used was the Cherry Bomb Set.
The extra sparkle on the dress shirt is a great paper that is really pretty to work with called Mica Metallic Anthracite and it is available at Paper Temptress.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you all have a fantastic Friday.

Origins Friend

Hello Everyone and Happy Tuesday. My flue bug is gone and I'm feeling much better. Thank you for leaving "get better soon" wishes, I really liked that.
Today I've got a little 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card to share with you. This Origins line from Basic Grey is quickly becoming one of my favorites ever. I just love the color palette. For this one, I used the Card Patterns Anniversary sketch and I really love the banding. Another NON stamping card for me, just a few rub-ons. The sentiment is made from micro mini letters in the Origins line. LOVE IT

Now on with the show.

That wonderful cardstock the Spellbinders pendant has been punched from,is called Cappucino Mica Metallic.  It is available at Paper Temptress as are the rest of the cardstock in the card.

Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday. I'll be back tomorrow with some more creations. Until then, Happy Crafting

Imagination verses Knowledge

It's friday and the week is drawing to an end. So is this flu bug, although I still have some minor symptoms hanging around. Last night I felt a little creative, and inked up one of my favorite stamps by Tim Holtz.  The green and blue papers are from Paper Temptress and the shimmer on each is absolutely fantastic. Lapis Lazuli Mica Metallic for the card base as well as the backdrop for the sentiment and Sparkle Emeraude for the second layer and where the embossed swirls are too. If you haven't taken the plunge into beautiful glittery cardstock, you just gotta. Paper Temptress has you covered
Hope you all have a wonderful day. Looking forward to what the weekend brings. Take card of you and until next time...
