Really Reasonable Ribbon August Blog Hop

Happy Friday the 13th to all of you. What a great day to get inspired with the Design Team from Really Reasonable Ribbon. Today is our monthly blog hop and if you've been following along, you would have hopped from Cheryls Blog. If you haven't, hop on back to the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog to start at the beginning.

You are going to want to start at the top, because so many of the design team members have blog candy and special treats to give away. How awesome is that!!!

This month I've created a little piece using the brand new 1/2" Stars in Line trim in Gold . I absolutely love this trim and it has lots of applications. Birthday invitations, New Years party hats, Wedding cards, you name it. And it comes in a larger size too.

Now I've paired this up with a Bombshell Stamp called Butterfly Queen (my favorite Bombshell stamp set). The team over there is doing a burlesque theme this month, and this tag is so indicative of the burlesque years gone by. Love how it turned out.

So what do ya think? I giggled when I was making the mini pastie lol. A little racy I know, but it so has that Betty Page feel.

Now I did say something about Candy didn't I? I've got a great big treat bag filled with goodies just for you to possibly win. Ribbons galore, unmounted stamps by Unity and About Art Accents, some embellishments and a few of my cards to boot. To be entered, become a follower if you love my work, and answer the following question

Who is your favorite Actress of years gone by?

I will have Random Org pick a winner on Tuesday AUGUST 24TH. So tell your friends, family, and scrapping buddies. If I get over 600 fans, I'll add something very special to the mix

Now hop on over to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog for one more chance to win.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope to see your comments and visits here often

Bombshell Sugar Skulls

Hello Everyone and Happy Monday. While you are reading this, I'm either in my car driving to Billings, or I'm on the plane on my way to CHA. I'm so stinkin excited, I can hardly handle it. This is when I say, thank goodness for autoposting!!!

Bombshell Stamps has a great collection of Sugar Skull stamps and this one titled Growing Hearts, has got to be my absolute favorite. Just the detail and expression the stamp portrays is quite stunning.

For this card I stamped the image using memento ink, then colored in sections using marvy markers. Immediately I added some Glossy Accents to the top to make the colors bleed. That melting and completely sad look happened. YEAH!!!

The black leaves ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon and the paper is from one of my all-time favorite manufacturers. Pink Paislee's  Bayberry Cottage collection is filled with damask prints and houndstooth. YUMMO!!! I paper pieced the head scarf on the stamp and love love love it.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I'm going to try and get some live posts from the show on the blog, just don't know what my internet access will be. What do you really want to see from the show?

Ink Spray and Smash technique with Bombshell Stamps

Hi Everyone. Hope you are having a great start to your week so far. I'm a busy little bee here trying to get all of my projects done for when I'm gone to CHA. Today I've got a great technique to share with you. I first found this at Splitcoast Stampers and just loved the results so I knew I had to give it a go. You can find my tutorial at the Bombshell Forum here.

Here is the card I created using Nick Bantock inks and the Hawaiian Girl Stamp set from Bombshell Stamps.

The beautiful frame around the image is one of my absolute favorite pieces of chipboard from Magistical Memories. It is called Frame Craze and is available at the Magistical Memories store.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you all have a fantastic Monday.

Bombshell Design Team ATC swap Hop

A little while ago, all the Design Team members of Bombshell Stamps did an ATC swap and today we celebrate that. When I got my envelope back in the mail, I was absolutely FLOORED with the talent that this team has. To be honest, I felt a little like the ugly duckling lol. We all have such different styles and these ATC's are among the most beautiful that I've ever received.

Here is a list of all the participating Bombshells, so check them all out and leave some love along the way.

Here is my Ode to Bombshell using the Butterfly Queen herself.

I used some Glimmer Mist to color the background first, then stamped the spider web from the Tattoo Background set. Added a little fuzzy tail and Devil Queen was born.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Make sure you leave a comment for a chance to win a small gift from me to you.

Now hop on over to Cheryls Blog to see her amazing ATC

A sweet day

Hello Everyone and welcome to Tuesday. Yesterday was our sons graduation from Kindergarten. He was so excited that his Nephew from Calgary was here for it that he could hardly stand it. I cried, my husband got a little emotional and our daughter loved the whole celebration. What a special day indeed.

Today I'm sharing with you a card I made this weekend using some great Magistical Memories Chipboard and Bombshell Stamps. I so love using the two of these manufacturers together because I find they really compliment one another.

For the stamps I used the Hawaiian Girl Stamp Set. These were stamped on the flower after it was inked up in Distress Ink. The Chipboard flower pieces are then drawn on with alcohol ink , bent into shape and set aside to dry. I attached them with a brad and there ya have it. A purdy Hibiscus Flower

Here is a close up of the flower so you can see it a bit better

Do you have a special moment in your children's early years that you hold dear? What is it and have you created a scrapbook page from it? If you have, I would love to see it.

Thanks again for stopping by and taking a peek at what I've been up to. Tomorrow is Weight Watchers and I think I've had a really great week. We shall see

Oh one last thing for you all. Today is a brand new challenge day over at Really Reasonable Ribbon and the top 3 and winner of our first challenge have been announced too. Hop on over to see the new challenge and take part.

Sugar Skull Bombshell card

The weekend is here and I've got tonnes of things to do. Love being busy. Last night was Weigh In at Weight Watchers, and I'm pluggin along successfully YEAH!!!

I just received my second group of stamps from Bombshell Stamps and I'm so excited to share with you this image. It is one of the Sugar Skulls sets and is absolutely beautiful. This image is from the set called Growing Hearts. For the image, I colored her in using Shimmerz paints, glaze pens and a little Copic marker to finish it off.

All of the ribbon used, is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. To make this card "stick" I used Helmar Zapdots, Fray Stoppa, and Quick Fix Adhesive Runner. This stamp just sings to me and I'm looking forward to working with it again.

What is your favorite stamp in your stash? and who made it?

Until next time

Bomshell meets Fimo Clay

Hello Everyone and happy 2nd of June. I have a few things to share with you today. Firstly is my first attempt at Polymer Clay. If any of you create with this stuff on a regular basis, I would love to know your tips and tricks. For this pendant, I wanted to create something for my Sister using Bombshell Stamps. She loves big and chucky jewelry, and although this piece is not as finished as I'd like it to be, it is my first attempt, so I'm trying not to be too hard on myself.

The polymer clay was stamped with the Bombshell Spider Web stamp from the Tattoo Background Set and I really like the look. Then I made the little flower and the swirls. After the piece was put together, I dusted the entire thing with Perfect Pearls and gently misted with water to set. Then I added a few Heidi Swapp chandelier crystals and a green crystal bead in the center of the flower. Finished it off with a few pieces of Vintaj Brass and TADA!!!

This is the final result and my sister really liked it.

I used the Helmar Gemsstone glue on the center of the flower and it worked like magic!!!

Not to bad for a first attempt eh? <------the Canadian in me appeared there lol

Now onto the second little tidbit for today. A little bit ago, I was asked by Joni at Raise the Bar Challenge blog if I wanted to come on board as one of their full time designers, and I'm thrilled to say that I accepted. How fun is that!!!

Last but not least, Really Reasonable Ribbon has started challenges at their blog too. Our first challenge is to create a masculine themed card, and I would love for you to hop on over and join in the fun. You could win a gift certificate to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store. Who doesn't love ribbon right?

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you are enjoying the weather and the flowers that Spring time offers. Until next time

Bombshell Gauche Under the Sea Project

Hello Everyone and Happy Tuesday to you all. On the weekend I did a tutorial over at the Bombshell Stamps forum on an altered art piece for a masculine occasion. My Husband and I sat down on Saturday night and were chatting about the project over wine. I was stuck, but he gave me some fantastic ideas, and this is the end result.

Here are a few close-ups for you. I used a bunch of the goodness that comes in the Gauche Alchemy Color Kits and I think this is most definitely my favorite project yet. It really came together, thanks to Mark.

If you want to take a closer look on how this project was created, stop on by the Bombshell Forum. Hope you are enjoying the beginning of the week and I look forward to what you have to share. Leave me a link to your blog, if you'd like me to pop over for a visit.

PS; Stop on by Trudy's Blog and enter her amazing Mega Candy.

Beauty

Hello everyone. Today has been a great day and I love going into the weekend and creating some Bombshell magic. These stamps are such a dream to stamp with and I find they are really quite versatile. I paired the Butterfly Queen stamp set with some more Fancy Pants Road Show and LOVE LOVE LOVE how it turned out.

The butterfly and flowers are colored in with Copic Markers and Spica pens. I love how the stamp sets at Bombshell have both the pin ups and great accent stamps on the sheets. This really stretches your creativity and your dollar. Check out the new motorcycle stamps too, these are going to fix that "hard to make" masculine card area that so many of us have troubles with.

Oh, on another note I had my weigh in for Weight Watchers on Wednesday night and the results....down another 1.8lbs Gotta love that

Bombshell Pretty in Pink Blog Hop

Welcome to my little part of the Bombshell Pretty in Pink April Blog Hop. We were to create something pink, pastel, or spring inspired projects. Well Pink is my favorite color, so this one was a joy to create.

If you have been following along on the hop you should have hopped here from Steph's Blog I absolutely love Stephanies style. Always something to feast the eyes on creatively. If you've just popped in, then you can hop back to the beginning which is at Kas's Blog

For my card I used the Butterfly Queen set from Bombshell stamps. I stamped the image on Paper Temptress Mica Metallic Paper, then embossed using some beautiful Judikins Kaleidoscope embossing powder. Finished the wings off with some Glimmer Mist and called it a flower. Funny how manipulating stamps can take an image and make it something completely different

Here it is
Photobucket

Now hop on over to Sy's blog for some more Pretty in Pink creations.

One last thing. Did you notice all the new stamp sets that Bombshell has??? Holy Cannoli, they are fantastic.

Sea you Soon-Bombshell Style

Hi Everyone and Happy Wednesday to you all. Today is weigh in night and I'm doing fairly well so far. I'm down and that is what matters. Today I put a belt on that I haven't worn in ages. I needed it to hold up my jeans lol.

I've got a great little card to share with you today using the Bombshell Stamps set Homeward Bound and some Silver Lustre and Mica Metallics Paper Temptress paper. These two are the perfect combination. I love the glitter and glimmer that happens with this stuff..

For the Silver lustre paper, I used alcohol ink on it to give it an ocean feel. I do like how it turned out. The fish stamp is one of my favorite smaller stamps from Bombshell Stamps and I really wanted to play up the sparkle, so painted them with Shimmerz Paints.

I love how the overall card turned out. The colors are soft and subtle which really lets the sparkle shine through. Say that 5 times fast hehe. Well I'm off. I hope that you all had a great day. "Sea you Soon"

Bombshell METALLIC-ART Blog Hop

It's the end of the month. Man how March flew by. Today is Bombshell Blog Hop Day and this one is BUSTING at the seams with inspiration. If you didn't start at the beginning, hop on back to Kas' Blog where the fun has all started. If you started at the beginning and have been following along, you popped on over from Steph's Blog . Man i love her work.

The them for March's Bloghop is METAL -
Try using metals in your project : Make something on metal, metal accents, metal embellishments, or even "Metal" music...Your choice just tell us how it fits with the theme. This one made me go directly to my tenSeconds Studio stash. And I reached for one of the most beautiful Bombshell Stamps in my collection. Homeward Bound has so many options and I just love all the small stamps in this set.

I wanted to create something that really showcased the stamp and the metal, so this is what i came up with. I think it is my favorite Bombshell project I've created.

I stamped the image using Staz-On ink to the silver side of the Slate metal sheet. Then took a small tipped stylus from their basic tool set and traced over the entire image. Puffed up the clouds, textured the sails, then added alcohol ink to the entire image after I burnished it with a sanding block. The background is stamped with the compass stamp from the set and heat embossed with Zing pewter embossing powder.

Here is a close up for you to really see the detail in the image.

Isn't that just amazing what a great bombshell stamp can do with a little imagination?
Now it is time for you to hop on over to Sy's Blog . This girl has MAD SKILLS. Don't forget to leave a comment here and on every blog you hop to for your chance to win a great prize this month.

A perfect addition to getting the Homeward Bound Stamp set don't ya think?
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope that your March was full of great things. Now lets bring on APRIL.

The Moments

Happy Thursday Everyone. Today I've got a card to share with you that uses ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and some wonderful stamps from Bombshell Stamps.
I used some of my absolutely favorite paper from 7 Gypsies to create the card.
The flower stamps I used, are from the Butterfly Queen and Cherry Bomb sets. I stamped them with Versamark then used copper embossing powder on them. Finished them up with some white glaze pen to get that little bit of contrast.
The butterfly {which is from the Butterfly Queen set as well}was stamped the same way, but I used white embossing powder instead, then added a little copper Krylon pen for that little sparkle. Then I glossed her up with glossy accents and bent the wings up before it dried completely, so they would dry with a curl to them.

Now for the ribbon. Would you believe that the ribbon is 3/8" white Ric-Rac? I love altering ribbon and trim to fit a project, so this Ric-Rac was painted with Tiger Lily Glimmer Mist, then I added green patina Perfect Pearls to it before it dried. Instant beautification lol. Really Reasonable Ribbon has so many amazing ribbons and trims. I could just spend hours in the shop

Last night was weigh in night at Weight Watchers and I got my 10% keychain. I've lost my first 10% and I love it. That is 23 pounds so far. I've got a long ways to go, but I just KNOW I can do it. What a great feeling to know that I'm getting healthy again.

Celebrating a new job Bombshell Style

It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood, a wonderful day in the neighborhood...
Good Morning everyone and welcome to Friday. The weekend is almost here and I thought what better way to celebrate, than with some Bombshell Love.

I have just figured out how to make clothing for these amazing stamps so now they can go from "steamy" to "sophisticated" in a few easy snips of the scissors.
This is the March Sketch over at Bombshell Stamps and I thought it was super versatile. You can keep it simple, or pile the craftiness on. Every Month over at the Bombshell Forum, there are contests, sketches and great inspiration to pull from so check it out.
Since I really wanted to focus on the image and the clothing of this beauty, I decided to go Simple and that for me, can be a real challenge.
How is this for a "Congratulations on the New Job" card?
The Bombshell stamps set I used was the Cherry Bomb Set.
The extra sparkle on the dress shirt is a great paper that is really pretty to work with called Mica Metallic Anthracite and it is available at Paper Temptress.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you all have a fantastic Friday.
