a breakthrough....

So it has been just over 15 weeks since Baby H (yep, 15 weeks) graced us with his presence and I must say that all those people who told me that your second baby would be a better sleeper than the first were right. What they didn't tell me was that the second baby would hate the car and would scream like he was being murdered from the second you put him in the car seat until the time you got him out.......

Yep for the last 15 weeks every car trip has been a nightmare, Baby H has screamed blue murder for the entire time that we have spent in the car. No amounts of loud music, me singing or Master N whinging would drown him out. I knew it was bad the day I turned around to see Master N sittimg in his seat with his fingers stuck in his ears.... So I am not going to bore you the details of what we have done to try stop him from screaming nor am I going to bore you with the stories, like the day when I was driving to Mum and Dad's (2 1/2 hours away) on my own and it took me 4 1/2 hours to get there after the screaming, a number three nappy change and being projectile vomited on, no I defeinetely won't tell you about that.

I will however tell you that something has changed and he has stopped the screaming. Not sure what it was or what we did differently, if anything, but he seems to be happy in the car now so long as we are not stopped for any length of time. This does result in me driving like I am competing in the V8 Supercar Series and doing my best impersonation of Craig Lowndes so as to not be stopped at a red light!

I am feeling a less apprehensive about leaving the house now! Yep, I wouldn't leave the house unless absolutely necessary so that I didn't have to put my little Baby H through something that he quite obviously did not enjoy!

Oh and I have noticed that Master N doesn't seem to have his fingers jammed permanently in his ears during car trips now too!

All I can say is thank goodness! I was starting to get worried that I would turn into a hermit!

introducing....

LITTLE HAMISH...

We are settling in nicely with our new addition. Managed to get myself a sleeper second time round! Touch wood it lasts!

Master Nate is besotted with him and Husband and I are in love all over again!

Thank you so much for all your kind words!

I am off for more snuggles, got to soak up this baby stage, it doesn't hang around for long!

09 December 2010

He's here........

Just a quick one to let you all know that we have welcomed a new member to our now complete little family......

Hamish John arrived (quickly) on 7 December 2010 at 6.45pm weighing 7 pound 7 ounces and measuring 51cm.

We are both doing great although I am busting to get home, didn't think I would be missing Nate as much as I am.

Thank you for all the wishes on my previous post and once we are home and settled I will be sure to share some photos.

Take care xx

07 December 2010

just thought i'd let you know......

I have decided to put things on hold blog wise (except for a few scheduled posts here and there). I have a funny feeling that this second little bundle will be making an early arrival after the events of the last few days.

The shops will remain open, however if something happens there may be a delay of a couple of days getting your order out. I have however clued Husband up on a few things so I am sure he can manage to address an envelope and pop it in the post if required.

I made it halfway through my 12 days of Christmas! Remember that all the Christmas Stock is on Sale until SOLD OUT - check out the Made It and Etsy Stores to grab yourself a bargain!

Take care and hopefully next time you hear from me I will have some exciting news!

a baby purchase.....

I came across the Etsy Store of Raggedy Owl after reading this post on the gorgeous Zinnia Pea Blog.

I have ordered Baby Ryder #2 one of the gorgeous travel quilts pictured above, can you guess which one?

Can't tell you cause that would give away the secret.

Yep, I know what the Baby is!

Happy Friday!

20 September 2010

at my house.....

At my house today we are huddled up inside hiding from the miserable rain outside. We have been so spoilt with fabulous weather for the past week or so that my little one is not happy about not being able to visit the park or be outside on his bike!

At my house today reality has hit and I am now in panic mode about the dwindling time left between now and when Baby Ryder #2 is due to arrive. So many things to fit in before he/she arrives! Eeek!

At my house today I am wondering when is the right time to introduce the Big Boy Bed for Nate. We have just managed to get him sleeping through the night and I don't know if I am ready for a new phase....

At my house today I already have dinner ready! Such an achievement for me!

At my house today Nate has decided to have a sleep, so while he is in sleepy land I am wasting time blogging, what else would one do!

To see what else is happening at other lovely people's places check out Lou's here, that is where I am off to now with a hot cuppa!

if it is a girl......

So I thought it only right that I also do a 'if it is a girl' post to make things even....

Here are a few girly finds from Etsy...

Gorgeous Baby Bonnet by urbanbabybonnets

Pink Aviary Chennile Bib from mountainavenbaby

Baby Bloomers in Blue and White by RubyRoadAustralia, one of my personal favourites...

Gorgeous Vintage Chenille Rag Patchwork Quilt from Vintage Chenille

And finally, although I have never been a huge fan of headbands on babies this Sweet Claire Feather Headband from JolieBerry is just divine, I love it!

We get another sneak peek of Baby Ryder #2 tomorrow, we are very excited. Baby Ryder #2 has become extremely active this week, so lovely to feel the squirming again!

Happy Thursday x

25 July 2010

one decision made.....

Well one thing has been decided and ticked off the list today, we have decided on the Bassinet that Baby Ryder #2 will sleep in....

Nice clean lines and not flouncy and frilly like a lot of bassinets I have seen. This will solve our cot dilemma until we know where we will be living. Then I guess it starts again when looking for a cot!

The pram for two is still a work in progress and I get more and more confused everytime I start looking at them, so many options. Pity they don't make one pram with all the good points of the many choices that are available, it would solve a lot of procrastination....

20 July 2010

gorgeous giveaway.....

I am an avid follwer of the Moose & Bird Blog.

If Baby Ryder #2 is a girl I would love to get me one of these gorgeous Pear Cushions for the nursery. You can find these in the Moose & Bird Etsy Store here....

Anyway, the point of this post is to let you know that there is a gorgeous giveaway happening on the Moose and Bird Blog right now. Check it out here. Pop on over and leave a comment and you could bag yourself this gorgeous bundle of goodies...

Happy Tuesday!

14 July 2010

a little time out......

So I have decided to take a little bit of me time and normal blogging will resume next week. Feeling a bit blah. Think my body, that has been taken over by Baby Ryder #2 is trying to tell me something.....

Til next week xx

10 July 2010

answers........

So recently I asked you, my loyal followers, for opinions on themes for Nate's 2nd Birthday (you can read the post here) and whether or not one should find out the sex of Baby Ryder #2 (you can read the post here).

Now for the answers......

Firstly, we will NOT be finding out the sex of Baby Ryder #2. Decision made!

Secondly, we have finally decided on a theme for Master Nate's 2nd Birthday.

Decision made! Yes, much to my husband's excitement we are having a Toy Store theme! Off to get in contact with Jeniene from Ciaobambino to lock this in!

Hope you are enjoying your Saturday!

07 July 2010

to know or not to know.......

So over the last week or so I have had this overwhelming urge to find out the sex of Baby Ryder #2, which seems strange to me as I had absolutely no inclination to find out when I was pregnant with Nate.

It seems as though it is the done thing these days, but I am wondering whether I will have an overwhelming surge of disappointment that I know if I do find out.

If I find out, I have no intention of sharing this very precious and vital piece of information with anyone but then I wonder if I will let it slip!

Such a huge dilemma I know, but I am guessing if this is all I have to worry about things are good!

I am totally eyeing off these gorgeous little numbers by RubyRoadAustralia, but as you can see they are quite gender specific. Maybe this is my motivation for wanting to find out.....

Did you find out? Were there any advantages/disadvantages?
