More raya cards

More quick updates..Life's been busy, so I have to fully utilise it (^__^)

The Eid wouldn't be fun if there's no oil lamps being lighted to welcome it..

Though now everyone is on Facebook, we can still rely on the birdie (well, it's a stork actually..Thehehehe) to send the message (^__~)

Sunflower to brighten up the day of the Eid..

And ketupat (packed rice) is a must have meal during the Eid here in Malaysia (Sorry for the blurry picture)..

Happy Eid everyone..Have a blast..

Back from my hiding place (^__^)

As mentioned in the previous post, this is the card that I made for my father's friends..Though it's not as happening as the first day of the Eid, we're still in the third week of Syawal..Therefore, it's worth sharing..Will upload the pictures of my mini quillings as well as the "Giveaway" that I received yesterday later on..

A new twist

Green is normally the most predominant colour in decorations during Hari Raya (Eid Mubarak) as it is associated with Islamic items..It is often combined with yellow or gold..

And since ketupat is the most frequently used symbol as a promotional image of the season, I combined these two with a twist from the card that I made earlier..

Another Eid card

I have some problems with the lighting (or the camera or my lappy or even my vision), so the colours in these pics are not that appealing (same goes with the previous two)..But I hope the idea is clear for everyone to see..These are pelita, or oil lamps..They are normally lit 10 days or a week (some may light it earlier) before the Eid to brighten up the house compounds and mark the auspicious day..

What's inside?

Bet it's ketupat (^__^)

Quilled ketupat (Packed rice)

Ketupat (be it ketupat nasi or ketupat pulut) is a must have dish here in Malaysia during Eid Mubarak..The one that I quilled here is ketupat pulut, made from glutinous rice wrapped in a woven palm leaves..It is normally served with chicken/beef rendang (the meat is cooked with coconut milk, spices and toasted coconut paste).
