Al Gore claims global warming caused last week's historic blizzard

Listening to Al Gore explain that the current round of turbulent winter weather is really an off-shoot of global warming brings a grin to the faces of many while others just shake their heads in disbelief.

Consisting of ice, record snow fall, bitter temperatures, and blizzard conditions of historic proportions, one-third of America was affected this week in a 2,000-mile swath of Old Man Winter's fury as frigid and deadly conditions stretched south into Mexico and north to Maine. How could global warming be real with all this winter weather?

Fox News reported that Gore had an explanation:

"As it turns out, the scientific community has been addressing this particular question for some time now, and they say increased heavy snowfalls are completely consistent with what they have been predicting as a consequence of man-made global warming," Gore write in a blog post. The Nobel Prize-winning former vice president was responding to a question posed by Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, who wondered on air why global warming was such an urgent science policy priority when the New York City area had become a “tundra” this winter.

Now comes word that a Greenpeace member fears Gore may have done untold damage to the environmental movement. Fred Pearce at Short Sharp Science attended a three-day conference in Portugal last week consisting of 28 bloggers, climate scientists, and what he called "professional contrarians" who gnawed over the looming issue of climate. He revealed:

The meeting was the brainchild of University of Oxford science philosopher Jerry Ravetz, an 81-year-old Greenpeace member who fears Al Gore may have done as much damage to environmentalism as Joseph Stalin did to socialism.

Interestingly enough, no meeting of the minds was made at the conference as it was decided that the make-up of those attending was "too lopsided in favour of the sceptical camp."

Meanwhile, Fox News reported that meteorologist Art Horn noted a long history of devastating weather over the generations that had nothing to do with global warming:

“The last 2,000 years is full of incredible weather events that dwarf what we see today,” said Horn. “Nature isn't cooperating with the global warming camp and theory.”

He points to a New York Times story from the 1970s, which said the planet was getting so cold that humanity was in danger of starving to death. The article argued that the world’s weather would soon be so frigid that it could no longer permit the cultivation of crops for food. The Times’ headline on August 8, 1974, was simple enough: “Climate changes Endanger World’s Food Output.”

“First we were told the world was cooling. Then it was getting hotter,” Dan Gainor, a spokesman for the Media Research Center, tells FoxNews.com. “Then cooling again. Then hotter. Now it’s just climate change -- so they can’t be wrong no matter what change occurs.”

Is all that evidence enough to change Gore's mind as the winter of 2011 continues and he moves forward with selling his idea of global warming by its new name, climate change?

Global warming? Australian says "barely had a summer this year"

Global warming? This is the coldest winter in many years for many areas ... there is more snow cover in North America than since 1966 ... New England is receiving record snows ... Baghdad saw snow for the first time in 100 years ... and now there's a report from Australia that says they barely had a summer this year.

Australia's News.com.au reports:

THE final day of summer in the Snowy Mountains has taken on a wintry chill after snow fell last night at the ski resorts of Perisher Blue and Thredbo.
A light dusting of snow blanketed the NSW ski resorts overnight as temperatures dropped to a low of minus 3.8 degrees Celcius at Perisher and minus 3 degrees at Thredbo.

Weather forecasters are already predicting a bumper snow season for 2008, according to resort management. Temperatures are expected to remain low with persistent precipitation throughout winter.

"We have barely had a summer this year," said Gary Grant, Perisher Blue's general manager of marketing. "It's felt as though it's remained cold since the end of the 2007 season, apart from a few warm days, the air has always had a nip in it."

Thirty-five years ago we were warned of global cooling. Then Al Gore tried to convince us all that we were in the midst of global warming. When will they accept it's climate changes and a normal thing for Planet Earth?

Al Gore slams U.S.A. while overseas

Al Gore had a Dixie Chicks moment while attending a United Nations conference on climate change in Bali. He slammed his own country today as reported by Financial Times:

Al Gore savaged the US government’s “obstructing” attitude and urged delegates at the UN conference on climate change to ignore Washington if necessary to pursue the “moral imperative” of a new global regime.

“My country is principally responsible for obstructing progress here in Bali,” the former US vice-president told 2,000 of the 12,000 people attending the conference on Thursday. “[But] over the next two years the United States is going to be somewhere it is not now.”

Words cannot describe my thoughts about that man....

It is the greatest scam in history. I am amazed, appalled and highly offended by it. Global Warming; It is a SCAM. Some dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives manipulated long term scientific data to create an illusion of rapid global warming. Other scientists of the same environmental whacko type jumped into the circle to support and broaden the “research” to further enhance the totally slanted, bogus global warming claims. Their friends in government steered huge research grants their way to keep the movement going. Soon they claimed to be a consensus.

Environmental extremists, notable politicians among them, then teamed up with movie, media and other liberal, environmentalist journalists to create this wild “scientific” scenario of the civilization threatening environmental consequences from Global Warming unless we adhere to their radical agenda. Now their ridiculous manipulated science has been accepted as fact and become a cornerstone issue for CNN, CBS, NBC, the Democratic Political Party, the Governor of California, school teachers and, in many cases, well informed but very gullible environmentally conscientious citizens. Only one reporter at ABC has been allowed to counter the Global Warming frenzy with one 15 minute documentary segment.

I do not oppose environmentalism. I do not oppose the political positions of either party. However, Global Warming, i.e. Climate Change, is not about environmentalism or politics. It is not a religion. It is not something you “believe in.” It is science; the science of meteorology. This is my field of life-long expertise. And I am telling you Global Warming is a non-event, a manufactured crisis and a total scam. I say this knowing you probably won’t believe a me, a mere TV weatherman, challenging a Nobel Prize, Academy Award and Emmy Award winning former Vice President of United States. So be it.

I have read dozens of scientific papers. I have talked with numerous scientists. I have studied. I have thought about it. I know I am correct. There is no run away climate change. The impact of humans on climate is not catastrophic. Our planet is not in peril. I am incensed by the incredible media glamour, the politically correct silliness and rude dismissal of counter arguments by the high priest of Global Warming.

In time, a decade or two, the outrageous scam will be obvious. As the temperature rises, polar ice cap melting, coastal flooding and super storm pattern all fail to occur as predicted everyone will come to realize we have been duped. The sky is not falling. And, natural cycles and drifts in climate are as much if not more responsible for any climate changes underway. I strongly believe that the next twenty years are equally as likely to see a cooling trend as they are to see a warming trend.

Global warming denial machine according to Newsweek?

I have a problem with this week's cover story over at Newsweek. The piece is an expose of a purported "global warming denial machine," which refers to a hypothesized high-powered and well-financed "doubters' campaign" to paint climate change environmentalism as a hoax.

Libs intimidate with threats against those who disagree with them

Advocates of "free speech" and "tolerance" don't practice what they preach

The liberal Left has perfected a form of intimidation to shut down debate and discussion with those who oppose them, a strategy that has worked well in the past. They intimidate by threatening advertisers, reputations, and careers on the national as well as local level.

One example of a topic with two extreme sides is global warming. While the Left advances their climate change agenda, those who disagree sometimes face dire consequences.

Look what happened to University of Virginia professor Patrick Michaels in August 2006. He had been the State Climatologist since 1980 until he ran up against the liberal agenda of global warming -- he dared to offer evidence debunking its existence -- and was asked by Democrat governor Tim Kaine to stop "misrepresenting" himself as the state's spokesman. Somehow the paperwork had disappeared in Richmond and the governor claimed there was no evidence Dr. Michaels had ever been appointed to such a position.

Dr. Michaels dared to go against the liberal agenda and was silenced by the Left.

In yet another case, a climate change skeptic had his career threatened by a global warming believer. As reported on Fox News on July 27, 2007:

The head of the Environmental Protection Agency says he will investigate a threatening letter sent to a global warming skeptic by the head of a group advocating the use of renewable energy.

The Washington Times reports American Council on Renewable Energy President Michael Eckhart wrote to Competitive Enterprise Institute Senior Fellow Marlo Lewis, "It is my intention to destroy your career as a liar. If you produce one more editorial against climate change, I will launch a campaign against your professional integrity."

Marlo Lewis dared to go against the liberal agenda and was threatened by the Left.

In another example, Fox News' Bill O'Reilly questioned the appearance of democrat presidential candidates at the radical liberal blog Daily Kos' convention to be held this week. Daily Kos had been instrumental in pressuring those same candidates into canceling a debate on the Fox News Network last month by claiming Fox was a vehicle of the Right.

O'Reilly also exposed Jet Blue's corporate sponsorship of the Kos convention which resulted in Jet Blue pulling out of the deal and removing their advertising from the Kos website. O'Reilly and Fox News have now become targets for liberal activists.

Instead of backing down, O'Reilly is stepping up his investigation. He said:

... if you go to RealClearPolitics.com, you can read a very perceptive article by Reid Wilson about the situation and why Hillary Clinton is showing up at the Kos convention despite the incredible hate on that Web site directed at her.

In a nutshell, Mr. Wilson says that Senator Clinton and other Democrats fear the Web site. But we don't. And we don't hate them either. We just believe they're bad for the country and have proven our case beyond a reasonable doubt. Come Monday [July 30], the final nail, but it is disturbing so be forewarned.

In retaliation, Daily Kos, MoveOn.org, Campaign for America's Future, and other liberals are banning together to call for a boycott of Fox News' advertisers. As reported by Fox News:

Once a database is gathered, an organized phone-calling campaign will begin, said Jim Gilliam, vice president of media strategy for Brave New Films, a company that has made anti-FOX videos

Their strategy is to sign up thousands on the Left to put pressure on local and national advertisers at Fox, the fair-and-balanced TV network which offers representatives to debate both sides of an issue, unlike ABC, CBS, NBC, or CNN.

Fox News dared to go against the liberal agenda and is being threatened and intimidated by the Left.

Daily Kos also recently banned anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan because she threatened to run a campaign against democrat Nancy Pelosi.

Former poster child Cindy Sheehan dared to go against the liberal establishment.

On a local level, one of the SWAC bloggers received a threatening comment on his blog a few days ago from a Valley liberal blog, one associated with Daily Kos. The comment said:

Guess what? Your lying, punk ass is going to be featured on a major national blog this weekend. And I don't mean Daily Kos, and I ain't writing it. It's gonna [be] all about you, baby. Be thinking about that next time you cook up plans to take dives at airports, or vandalize your own candidate's signs. Elections are coming ... and [we] will be watching you.

A local conservative blogger dared to speak out against the liberal agenda so intimidation in the hope of silencing him followed.

Threats are a way of preventing another blogger from speaking his opinion. This is an example of how MoveOn.org is filtering down to the local level through Daily Kos and others. By being affiliated with Kos they are amplifying its message and, in this case, extending its intimidating methods into the grassroots level of politics.

If anyone opposes the radical liberal agenda they will be targeted so to intimidate them into silence.

By avoiding civil discussion, differences between liberals and conservatives will continue to grow as politics becomes more polarizing in the future.
