Anti-energy protesters still in SW Virginia

Carl Kilo at Spark It Up! and Jerry at From On High give it the old one-two punch to the anti-energy moonbats who continue to protest the Dominion Virginia coal plant in Wise County.

Jerry says, "Ah, to be young and stupid," adding:
The kids who were arrested came from North Carolina, South Carolina, New York, Maryland, Washington D.C., one from Roanoke, one from Blacksburg, and two who are local. The judge has allowed those charged to go home and return for trial. We encourage them to leave as soon as possible.
I cannot add to that....

Kilo really "Sparks It Up" ... this coal miner tells it like it is

Thanks, Carl! I call 'em like I see 'em.
SWAC Girl steals my heart with this post - Dominion Power ... THANK YOU! Raising Kaine and Green Miles ... butt out!
Carl Kilo is a coal miner ... and he tells it like it is as he writes:
That is right. These fools question the benefits of this plant that will burn only Virginia coal... Two million tons a year of it to be exact. Over 5000 tons a day.

That coal will be mined and trucked to the plant, spreading wealth to truck drivers, fuel sales, tires and parts, insurance sales, and every store a truck driver will stop at during the day. That coal will keep many miners working securely with jobs that pay 50k a year at minimum and 125k for the top positions.

The coal taxes alone will provide a projected 50 to 60 percent of Wise county's tax base. I am not the smartest of men, but I can count. This plant was never about the 75 permanent jobs at the plant, it is about all the others listed above.
Read the rest of his post ... he lays it on the line.

Not only should we be thanking Dominion Power for building the plant and providing jobs and electricity to our state ... we should be thanking those Southwestern Virginians who work the mines, drive the trucks, run the shifts, and everything else that helps make it possible for us to flip a switch and ... voila! ... instant electricity.

My hat's off to Carl Kilo and crew. Thanks, Guys!

Dominion Power ... THANK YOU!

Raising Kaine and Green Miles ... butt out!

I don't care what Raising Kaine or Green Miles say ... I am appreciative to the companies that provide electricity to my house whether it's Virginia Dominion Power or Shenandoah Valley Electric Co-op or any number of other providers. They have invested in the companies, built the power plants, installed power lines ... and made life a lot easier for the world.

Do I want to go back to the days of kerosene lamps and heating hot water on a fire to wash dishes or take a bath? Would I rather sweep the floor instead of vacuuming? Do without air conditioning? Heat with a fireplace instead of central heat?

No way!

Unless either of those bloggers actually lives in Wise County, they really have little input into the conversation.

That is the problem with liberals ... they think they are the overlords of us all telling us what to do, what to eat, which company to patron ... telling us we can't smoke, we can't drink, we must curtail our "carbon emissions" ... telling us what kind of vehicle we can drive, and where to set the thermostat, and how much water we can use....

I'm sick of it. Who died and put them in charge? We have let this nonsense go on in this country for 30 years. It is time to stand up to them and say, "No more!"

So butt out, RK and GM, from Wise County. The residents in that area want the jobs and the economic benefits the Dominion Power plant will provide.

If you want to have a say in it, move there!

Busy-body environmentalists.... Updated

Why on earth would Henrico host a meeting about a power plant to be built hundreds of miles away in Wise County? From what I have read and heard, the majority of people in Wise want the jobs that a Dominion Virginia Power plant would bring to the region which has seen economically troubling times ... and there is a need for the electrical power.

The people of Wise want the plant.

The environmentalists, many who live nowhere near Wise, don't want it.

I've seen this scenario played out over and over the past 30 years. I call them "busy-body environmentalists." They stick their noses in where they are not wanted.

Of the 115 people who signed up to speak at the meeting, most were from central and northern Virginia, according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Joshua Tulkin, "deputy director of Maryland's Chesapeake Climate Control Action Network" which is, of course, an "environmental" group, was asking about carbon dioxide released into the air and its affect on "global warming."

The majority of scientists have sufficiently debunked global warming (see Icecap) including the man who began the Weather Channel. The amount of carbon dioxide that would be released by the plant is within guidelines, according to a spokesperson for Virginia Dominion Power.

If it's not a snail darter, it's carbon emissions. Isn't it time for the people who live in a specific area to decide the direction of their own area?

Sometimes the environmental police need to MYOB.

Update: Carl at Spark It Up!! has more on this situation, and he has a right to speak up because he lives right there. In today's post, "Power plant supporters travel to Richmond to support it," he says:
This plant economically is the best thing to happen to this county in my lifetime. It will also clean the county of gob piles of waste coal. The tax revenue will help the county address the problems of our aging schools. the coal used will insure many of us in the coal industry can work and provide for our families. My thanks go out to every one who supported this plant. The support was bipartisan from our leaders and that is something we all can be proud of. That does not happen often.
