Gathering of Eagles NY successfully defends Times Square recruiting station

Dan Maloney, NY Gathering of Eagles Coordinator, has a write-up about their encounter with the anti-war protesters at the Times Square recruiting station. It was a good day for Patriots. In part, he says:
At two minutes to Noon, just as I had collected the last stragglers I saw, the skies opened with a torrential downpour just as the moonbats were beginning their rally. Conveniently, the area our folks were situated in had a nice wide overhang where we could stay mostly dry. The poor moonbats had no such cover and the wails and anguish that could be heard over their close encounter with that foreign substance H2O was almost pitiful to hear.

When the rain abated we rendezvoused with the rest of the Patriots just as a truck giving out free Monster Power Drinks pulled up and supplied us all with free refreshments! So by the time we were allowed to move in close proximity to the moonbats we were fired up! It should come across in some of the video but we were belting out our chants with extra relish today!
After describing what happened during the rally, Dan ended by saying:
All in all it was an absolutely great day for the Patriots! We had passersby thanking us for being there, active duty personnel stopping by (in one case posing with one of our service branch flags to commemorate their visit), even one lady shouting at the police that she had seen the Islamist starting the whole incident that was partially captured on film.
Go here to read all his report and for photos. Thanks to Dan and all the Gathering of Eagles Patriots for standing up for the rest of us when we couldn't be there.

Watch LIVE: NY Gathering of Eagles supporting the troops

Times Square recruiting station to be protested by anti-war "peace"niks

[Dan Maloney, NY Coordinator of the Gathering of Eagles, sent this latest information for today's Support the Troops rally against the anti-war protesters at the Time Square (NY) military recruiting station. Please keep these freedom warriors in your thoughts and prayers today.]

From Dan Maloney....

I've learned that the Evangelical concert at Times Square today is going to be broadcast list on the web. This link should be live between 10am and 1pm EST. The link is here.

In addition there are the standard Times Square webcams which are here.

Cam 2 shows the W. 44th St. area where the Arab group Adalah is supposed to congregate at 11:30 am before marching down Broadway to join the rest of the moonbats at 42nd St.

Cam 4 shows the southeast corner of W.44 St. and 7th Ave.

Cam 7 shows the recruiting station at the bottom center of the screen. (It has a video screen on it's roof). You can see the sound stage for today's concert just in front of it. The view is south down 7th Avenue. Broadway branches to the left.

So folks at home around the country may still get a chance to view some of the action.

GOE NY on Saturday ... support the troops!

[The Gathering of Eagles New York Chapter has plans to stand up to the anti-war moonbats at Times Square Saturday, August 2 ... but now the Middle Eastern groups have gotten involved as well as evangelical Christians. If you are in the NY area, they need your help now more than ever. They will be in our thoughts and prayers.]

From Dan Maloney, New York Gathering of Eagles...

Folks, the situation has gotten more complicated but also better for ourselves.

There will be five groups involved in Times Square tomorrow.

The Police - trying to keep order in a chaotic situation, we should attempt to obey all lawful orders of police on site. Having said that, please avoid being penned by the police as that will severely impair our mobility. Keep walking, do not stand in one place.

The Evangelical Christians. The evangelist Kim Clement and his group Warriors Knight Club hold the permit for the recruiting station property from 5am to 1pm for a concert. These folks are as close to being on our side as possible so view them as allies. They will have a sound stage erected outside the station and could have several hundred people in attendance.

Moonbats. The main Moonbat entourage is staging their rally on the south side of 42nd St and Broadway. Their area extends from 40th to 42nd St. They will be setting up their sound stage beginning at 10am. Their rally begins at Noon. Their march south (away from the recruiting station) is scheduled to begin at 1:30pm. They are always late.

Adalah-NY is a coalition of muslim, arab and socialist groups who support Palestinians, Hamas, Hizbollah and Iran. They announced their plans to join in the StopWarOnIran protest on Wednesday. They plan to assemble at W.44th St and Broadway at 11:30 to march to join the other moonbats at W.42nd St. This is the wildcard. It is unclear if they have informed the Police of their intentions. It is unclear how many they can muster to participate. The Police are unlikely to allow them to march through the area of the Evangelical Christians. How they will react to that is anybody's guess.

Ourselves. We will assemble in the area of the Recruiting Station and blend in around the perimeter of the evangelicals. We will watch for the Adalah group's appearance and congregate on that side of the Evangelicals to counter any attempt to disrupt their concert or to deface the recruiting station.

When the concert ends we will flow south down Broadway to 42nd St where we will be in a position to speak truth to the propaganda of the moonbats. We will bring as many of the evangelicals as are willing to come. If the police allow, we may be able to follow the moonbats some distance down Broadway as they begin their march. Alternatively, we could have some of our number detour down 7th Avenue and across east on 40th St. to counter the moonbats as they begin their march.

That is the basic game plan. How it will work in practice will depend mainly on how the Police manage the situation.

Bring flags, signs and banners supportive of our troops and their mission.

NY Gathering of Eagles moonbat alert - recruiting station attack

From Dan Maloney, State Coordinator, NY Gathering of Eagles....

Fighting the Insurgency at Home ... Action Alert
Major Hardcore Insurgent Street Protest at Times Square Recruiting Station!

The hardcore domestic insurgents are planning a rally outside the Recruiting Station at Times Square on Saturday, August 2nd at High Noon. They are putting out the word to bring their lemmings and stooges in from all the surrounding areas. Early estimates are that they will be able to have a turnout in the neighborhood of 2-3,000 at this event. We need a strong turnout to prevent the radicals from damaging the station or claiming to have shut it down.

We will arrive before the moonbats at 11:00 am to secure the area.

Where: Armed Forces Recruiting Station, Times Square. West 43rd St and Broadway.

Maplink: http://tinyurl.com/58gnz4

When: Saturday, August 2, 2008, 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

The insurgent theme for this event is "Stop War On Iran" with red octagonal shaped images on their signs. If you have the time to make up signs we suggest a "GO Victory" or "GO Army, Navy, Marines or Air Force" theme. Use the color green as much as possible. Use your creativity to come up with other patriotic statements on road sign themes. Possibilities include Stop Treason, Stop Domestic Insurgency, Yield to Victory, etc... Try to keep sign messages short and to the point to be more effective.

The link to the insurgent website is here.Check their listing for local actions for New York or other state in case they are planning an action in your city or town.

Bring friends, fellow patriots and American flags to show the radicals they are not welcome at the Times Square Recruiting Station. If you are coming to Times Square, do not bring any wooden or metal flagpoles. They are not permitted. Get a five to ten foot length of 1" PVC pipe to serve as a flagpole and use plastic tie wraps to secure your flag to the pole.

Monitor the New York Gathering of Eagles website for updates.

Protesting the anti-war protesters

There is a heart-warming article in the Wall Street Journal about a man protesting the anti-war protesters as part of a pro-victory group in Pennsylvania. They meet every Saturday for an hour to publicly stand up in support of American troops.

As reported by the WSJ:
[Rich] Davis, 54, is a pro-military protester who makes a public stand each week in support of the troops and their mission.
Mr. Davis grew up during Vietnam ... same as me.
At first he hoped someone would challenge the protesters, speak up for the troops, and defend their mission. On Sept. 8, 2007 he decided that someone had to be him.
That was me six years ago when the first anti-war protesters showed up on the streets of downtown Staunton. They were going to be there everyday that week from 12-1 pm. I hoped someone else would get up a "Support the Troops" rally and, finally, did it myself because I couldn't stand the thought of no one standing up against those people.
"We're not silent anymore," Mr. Davis told me. "We refuse to let antiwar protesters have the stage to themselves."
Exactly! And that is why we must PUBLICLY stand up for our troops. Thank God for people like Rich Davis. His stand did not go unnoticed; he was joined by members of the Gathering of Eagles.

The article is definitely worth the read.

Patriots stand down Code Pink's anti-America attacks on Berkeley Marine recruiting station

What a difference from the Vietnam days when America left our troops to fend for themselves against rampant anti-war protesters ... from Gathering of Eagles NY State Coordinator Dan Maloney

Patriots Rule Berkeley!

There was a tremendously successful pro-troops rally yesterday in the heart of moonbat la-la-land, Berkeley, California. Hundreds turned out to answer the call from Melanie Morgan of Move America Forward, Michelle Malkin and the Gathering of Eagles to protect the Marine Recruiting Station from the ravages of the Code Pink faction of the neo-commie horde led by none other than that paragon of anti-Americanism, Medea Benjamin.

Once more patriots ruled the day!

SWAC Eagles soared today ... Win the War!

The horns began blaring as soon as we arrived thirty minutes before the Gathering of Eagles rally start time of noon to set up Win the War signs and American flags.

People began showing up immediately, first one, then two more, then others ... happy to see one another ... each with a reason to be there....

I was greeting everyone as they arrived ... and then I saw Military Mom! She had driven down, once again, from Alexandria to join us. Military Mom ... the one whose daughter, Brandi, stationed in South Korea with the U.S. Air Force in 2003 had seen anti-war protesters pictured in the local newspaper and asked, "What's going on in Staunton?" That was the beginning of our rallies to show our military that America was behind them. Military Mom ... who had moved to Alexandria two years ago but has come back twice for our rallies and who is, thankfully, moving back to Augusta County. Military Mom who is, herself, an Air Force veteran.

Barth who was in Iraq for 15 months turned out today with his wife Kimberley and two little children ... Barth who is one of those we owe eternal thanks to for his service ... Barth who is a local hero even though he doesn't think he's a hero.

Le who escaped from Vietnam during that war ... who legally emigrated to the United States in the 1970s to make a new life ... Le whom I met during the 2004 Bush reelection campaign when she came to headquarters to volunteer and, through the course of our days at HQs together, told me her story of getting out of Vietnam, her disgust at John Kerry, and her appreciation for President Bush's strong stand against terrorism, to the United States, and her understanding of freedom. She was there today with her husband, Gene. Everyone who protests the war should talk with Le.

Phil who was with the NYPD on 9/11 ... Phil who stood on the burning rubble at Ground Zero, who experienced the sights, sounds, smells, and emotions of that day in a way none of the rest of us could even imagine ... Phil who saw what the terrorists did to our country and understands we must stand firm against it happening again. As he held the American flag his two young sons stood with him holding flags. They have been with us a number of times over the past two years.

Barb who has been with us at these rallies the past two years in her red, white, and blue American flag scarf ... Barb who is unapologetically patriotic and pro-troops, someone I appreciated having by my side at HQs when some unsavory characters came in last fall ... someone who is there to help all the time ... a friend ... many thanks, Barb.

Colleen who had been, in her words, a "tree-hugging liberal" until 9/11 when her entire perspective changed. I met her at Bush Headquarters in 2004 when she drove up from Lexington for a yard sign ... she was passionate as she explained that national security was the most important thing for America and she was ardently supporting President Bush and the Republicans. We reconnect six months ago when she met met in Staunton to buy Win the War signs to take back to Lexington ... Colleen who works to collect and send care packages to our military ... and today she brought her daughter with her to stand on the street in support of our troops.

Kim who has had serious health issues of her own but who had been coming out be my rock at many of these rallies ... Kim, who thanked me but it is I who should thank her because she has faced far more adversity than I ... Kim whose daughter's boyfriend left in August to spend 15 months in Iraq with his Army Unit. Kim ... God bless you for your friendship.

Debbie and her three little girls ... the same ones who came out for the March rally and stood on the Courthouse steps (along with their sister who wasn't there today) with American flags for the Pledge of Allegiance ... three little girls who held American flags and Win the War signs and waved as cars honked their horns.

Vietnam-era vets Bill, Dick, Larry, and Fred ... guys who were treated with contempt by anti-war protesters in the 1960s and who are determined this generation of GIs will not be treated like that again. They have been at these rallies before ... their blood runs red, white, and blue. True patriots all ... we thank you for your sevice to our country.

Emily who is a patriot and friend and has been at most of these rallies throughout the years. She stood with an American flag and sign ... and Joyce who has been part of us for years and who came out today to support the troops. Thank you.

Casby represents the Mary Baldwin Republicans and has been with us in the past for these rallies. Casby is a patriotic young lady who believes in standing up for what she believes in even on a campus that runs rampantly liberal. Many thanks for standing up with us again.

Kerri whom I call "Little Miss Republican" ever since meeting her during the 2004 Bush campaign. Now 12 years old, she was the youngest volunteer I had for the Bush campaign; she worked the Kilgore and Allen campaigns, and she has been out with us in the past along with her mom, Kim. She is now running for class president in school and, since she told me at the age of 10 that her goal was to be the first woman governor of Virginia, I'm not surprised to see her in school government. We wish her the best of luck in her campaign!

Marine vet Jim Holbert was in D.C. with the Marines for today's rally but his son stopped by to lend support. Jim provided the Support the Troops flag, Gathering of Eagles banner, and my Eagles armband. A true patriot who has been at most of our rallies the past two years, he stood in the pouring-down rain the first time I saw him, at parade rest, throughout the Support the Troops ceremony, snapping to attention for the flag ... I approached him afterward and a friendship began that has continued. My thanks to Jim and Russ and all the Marine League guys who were here in spirit but felt they needed to be in D.C. today. Semper Fi.

And my own daughter and husband, there to help set up and to support the troops ... my husband who is a Vietnam era Air Force veteran and the wind beneath my wings. And the others I didn't know ... thanks, Guys!

The support from the Valley was, as it has been the dozens of times before, overwhelmingly supportive. Patriots walking past on the sidewalk applauded; the trolly dinged his bell with a thumbs-up; the law enforcement office hit his siren in support. Trucks, cars, SUVs ... everyday citizens were glad to see Win the War supporters.

On an absolutely glorious day with temps in the 60s, dozens of patriots came out to show support for the troops, the war, and President Bush. With many SWACers in Washington, D.C., for the huge rally there, other SWAC folks as well as some who saw us and stopped to join were here to put a public face to those who want to Win the War! Horns blared for the entire time we were there.

Many thanks to all -- friends and neighbors, vets and active military, children and parents -- for taking an hour out of your day to thank our troops.

Vietnam Wall Memorial -- update on vandalism report

Michelle Malkin and Bryan Preston went to examine the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC yesterday to assess the damage and the explanation that is being purveyed (Vietnam Wall Memorial vandalized in D.C.). Ms. Malkin writes:
Over the weekend, something happened here at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC. Something destructive. Something dishonorable.
Come join us this Saturday in Washington, DC, to remind these America-hating organizations that there are things that we consider sacred. There are things that we will defend to our last breath. The memory of our fallen heroes is one of those things.

Vietnam Wall Memorial vandalized in D.C.

News Alert - News Alert - News Alert - News Alert

The Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C., was vandalized Friday night, September 7, 2007. There were no witnesses to the act of desecration which was discovered by a Park Service employee.

The vandal appears to have walked along the wall while squirting an oil based substance from a container on the lower sections of the panels. The liquid discolored the polished surface of the stone memorial and was absorbed into the porous stone where the names of our fallen heroes are etched into the wall.

Many names have become unreadable due to the absorbtion of the fluid.

On March 17, 2007, a large number of veterans and patriots gathered around the area of the Vietnam War Memorial to prevent just such a threatened desecration by the radical leftist demonstrators associated with the ANSWER coalition, SDS, and the Black Cloc. An attempt was made to deface the memorial late that day but was stopped by National Park Police with several radicals arrested.

No radical group has stepped forward yet to claim responsibility for this outrage to the memory of our veterans. It is unlikely any will.

Gathering of Eagles ... positive media from Canada Free Press but ignored by American MSM

"Where will YOU be on September 15th? Enjoying the fruits of freedom and liberty which our veterans fought and died to provide you? Or standing firm in Washington to protect them for our children and grandchildren? Only you can decide." --Dan Maloney, New York Coordinator for Gathering of Eagles

Positive Media about Gathering of Eagles and our September 15th rally!

Have you read anywhere in the media about the Move America Forward cross-country caravan to Washington DC?

Have you read about the Gathering of Eagles staging a massive Support Our Troops rally in Washington, DC, to counter the ANSWER fanatics who want to impose their "Surrender Now!" agenda on the American Military through a massive demonstration in the streets of Washington to pressure weak-willed congressmen to reject General Petreaus' report on Iraq before it is even delivered?

No? I thought not.

Here are links to some positive reporting for you ... two great articles from our friend and supporter Judi McCloud of the Canada Free Press! Isn't it a shame that you need to go to a Canadian newspaper to get accurate and fair reporting on the Gathering of Eagles, Move America Forward, and our missions from last March and September 15th?

Outside of Michelle Malkin and a few other conservative commentators you will hear precious little from the mainstream media about us ... and then mostly couched in terms like pro-war or fascist or some other garbage from the left wing playbook.

So for a breath of fresh air read here and here.

Also check out Michelle Malkin's excellent OpEd from August 29.

Make your reservations now for travel to Washington, DC, on September 15th. Plan on being there before 9:00 am and staying through at least 5 pm.

If you are coming from NY State, NYC, or Long Island and wish to make a reservation on one of our buses email me as soon as possible with your location and the number of seats you need.To visit our Gathering of Eagles forums click here.

Our troops give up years of their lives to protect our country. All too often they give up more. Can we not give up a day or two of our lives to demonstrate our support for them and their mission?

Can we leave the radical communist and jihadi agitators to control the field of public opinion? I think not. Not and be able to sleep at night knowing that we shirked our moment to stand up against the tide of left wing lunacy that is trying desperately to force a surrender on our country. Not and be able to visit a Vietnam memorial and know we did not stand against the hordes of dupes funded by the likes of George Soros and Jane Fonda who have no idea what our retreat from Vietnam cost the vietnamese people and did to the honor of our fallen brothers and sisters in arms.

Where will YOU be on September 15th? Enjoying the fruits of freedom and liberty which our veterans fought and died to provide you?

Or standing firm in Washington to protect them for our children and grandchildren? Only you can decide.

I'll be standing with our veterans and patriots in Washington, D.C.

"Gathering of Eagles" coming up Sept. 15....

Received an email from a friend, a Marine veteran who had attended SWAC Support the Troops rallies and was in Charlottesville this summer to stand up to Cindy Sheehan. He has on several occasions joined his fellow vets in D.C. as part of the Gathering of Eagles.

The first time I met him he attended a Support the Troops rally held at the courthouse in Staunton where he stood at parade rest in the pouring down rain the entire time ... except when he snapped to attention to salute the American flag.

His email said he had something for me ... and he sent it my way Tuesday afternoon.

What he sent me was a large flag that said "We Support Our Troops" with a yellow ribbon made into it. It was already on a pole ready to fly at Support the Troops and Gathering of Eagles rallies.

He also gave me something else ... a "Gathering of Eagles" armband. It has the American eagle, the group's name, and the American flag.

We're gearing up for the September 15th rally to stand up to the anti-war protesters who will march on the White House ... no matter what the report is from Gen. Petraeus. They've planned it for months.

I'm grateful for my friend's service to our country, and for his support in previous rallies, and for the flag and armband that I can use in upcoming rallies.

A Gathering of Eagles ... Win the War! Friday in Charlottesville

Counter-Rally to Cindy Sheehan's "defeat & retreat" rally

A post from Gathering of Eagles....

Counter-rally to Cindy Sheehan’s “defeat and retreat rally”
Posted by Gabi on July 18, 2007

A non-partisan “Win the War!” campaign ( http://www.win-the-war.com/) has been launched in Charlottesvlle, VA to rally and sustain public resolve for victory in Iraq. The campaign aims to unite pro-victory groups around the country under an umbrella group while simultaneously reaching out to talk shows, blogs and citizen action groups. The goal is to establish a united front of national leadership and a widespread local grassroots organization.

To replicate the success of the Gathering of Eagles counter-rally in Charlotte, NC recently ( http://www.charlotte.com/540/story/201334.html), the campaign is organizing a pro-victory counter-rally to Cindy Sheehan’s “defeat and retreat” rally on the downtown mall by Charlottesville Ice Park this Friday at 6 p.m.

Its aim will be to remind Ms. Sheehan and her supporters, and the public at large, that many citizens of the area believe that defeating Al Quaeda decisively in Iraq will do more to defend America and bring about peace than giving in and handing the terrorists a victory. Everyone is invited, especially Eagles!

Those attending the counter-rally will meet in front of the Paramount Theatre on the mall at 5:45 p.m., and then walk over to Ms. Sheehan’s event. “Win the War!” signs will be provided. Families will be welcome to join.

Anyone with questions should contact Josh Levy at joshlevy@yahoo.com or (347) 387-2702.
