I WOZ INSPIRED !!

Hello - I am back again ultra quick today !!!  I went off to browse the Challenges to enter my other card and I saw a Theme over on SPEEDY FOX & FRIENDS entitled "Cut-Away Embossing". What's that, I thought to myself and went over to have a look. Well......... I can tell you I was totally inspired - thunderstruck there on the spot by the brilliant creations their DT had made AND there was a little Tutorial there too, showing how it was done.  :-D
No sooner had I seen and digested, I rushed off to my cupboards to firk out the necessary accoutrements !!! Here is what I came up with, which fits perfectly for another of my card commissions :-) YaY !!

Really enjoyed this one and would deffo make one of these again :-)
I edged all the pieces with the Royal Blue ink and printed Happy Birthday with both inks on the stamp at the same time.

I used:

Blue base card 5" x 7"
Cuttlebug Embossing folder - Kassie's Brocade
Martha Stewart Edge Punch
Archival inks - Starry, Starry Night and Royal Blue
Blue gauze ribbon
Sheena Douglas Leaf die from 'Wild Rose' set
Foam strips
Flowers by SAMFLORA

Thank you for peeping :-)

ATC FUN

Here is an ATC I made to send to a friend. I have used "MEDUSA" from the 'Women of Power Set' by SMEARED INK, and I have coloured her with Copics and used glossy accents on her snakes. She is set against a small gold square on a snakeskin mosaic background. The edges were inked with distress stain - Vintage Photo.

Thank you for stopping by :-D

NOT QUITE SO SCARY

Well hello there Peeps,
This is a quickie whilst I am waiting for other stuff to dry, but here is my piece for the latest challenge over at LEFT OF CENTRE - 'FUN FRIGHTS'.
It seems like this poor little spider is looking for his Mummy and has chosen this lovely lady. :-)  LoL
I coloured her with Copics but unfortunately, all my skin colours decided to run out on me and go dry, so sorry about the crap blending !!!! The background is embossed with 'Spider Web' embossing folder from Stampin' Up and enhanced with black ink and the images were mounted on foamies for added pop.

NATURE IN THE RAW !!! :-D

Well Peeps - I am in one of my 'strange' modes today and whilst waiting for some paint to dry on my theatre commission projects, I got a bit more messy with some inks and schtuff.
I played with smearing some inks onto paper placed over a bit of burlap to see what the texture did and I quite like the effect.
On top of that I put some moose images and a really scary skeletal man to be in charge of them from DeStempelwinkel   :-D I had to stamp scan and print the moose to get them different sizes and I cut the antlers off the 'girls'. :-D
The trees are from BECCY's PLACE.

I called this piece.............."THE HERDSMAN".......... and he's showing the 'raw' side of nature :-D

PURR-FECT CHRISTMAS

Good Morning,

I have been playing with my colours again on a couple of fabulous images I got FREE from SPYDER's CORNER.
I have used Purrfect Christmas Pudding Pussy and Christmas Reindeer for my piece.
I coloured them with Promarkers.
Both of these images were Freebies and you can snag a Reindeer for yourself as this weeks Freebie HERE.
Whilst I was putting it together I got a silly funny idea so there are two versions of the card - one with the silliness and one without :-D

I was going to enter it for the Quirky Charades Challenge (song/film or book) but I missed the darn deadline !!! :-(
I was going for Song: Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer and Film: Spartacus  hahahaha LoL

All the images were coloured and then cut out and mounted with foam pads.  I have also used an embossing folder I got free with a magazine for the top piece.
Pud Puss is no longer a Freebie but hopefully will be in SPYDER's shop soon.

Thank you for stopping by.

SWEET AND PINK - WHAT DO YOU THINK ?

Hello Peeps and Happy Sunday to you All,
I am going all pink today - which is not normally a colour I have much to do with on it's own, but in keeping with the theme of this month I dragged out all my little bits of pink stuff to make a card commission. My friend wanted a sweet pink girly creation for a 6 year old so I came up with this.....

I used odd snippets of pink papers and ribbon for the background. The image is called Button Betty but I've had it for so long I don't know where it came from. :-(  I printed it out 6 times and fussy cut it, then layered it up with silicone to make a little 3D image. I used the same border punch to cut an edge down the white insert inside the card :-)
I used an embossing folder for the Happy Birthday banner and rubbed the card with sandpaper to make the words show up.

Thanks for dropping by.

THE CREEPY ME IS HERE :-)

Hi Peeps,
Let's have a little rest from the cute and cuddly eh ?  Well - I mean - what with Halloween creeping up on us !!!! Bwaahahahaha

I guess you could say that this one is 'creepy cute' though, so it's not all shock, horror !!! Hee hee

For the background I used a Creative Expressions embossing folder called 'Brick' and I then used a foam inky pad to drag over it to give it colour and shadow. I cut around the edges of the bricks to get the size card that I wanted.

The image is called "Abby Love Letters" by LACEY SUNSHINE and I have coloured her with Promarkers, Copics and black lead pencils for her hair -I don't have any shades of grey Promarkers :-(

I completely cut her out and I also cut a circle of gold fine mesh and made a small hole in the middle to slip it over the flame of the candle, to give me a light effect.

I shaded a shadow on the wall backing and then mounted Abby on the front with 3D foam pads.
Ta Da !!! Creepy but also cute :-D

Thanks for dropping by.

WAIT FOR IT..... ANOTHER ATC BINGE COMING :-D

Hi there and welcome to the first in a run of ATCs I am making.... don't you just LUV these little suckers ??!!! You can go as detailed as you like or just simple but on such a dinky little size :-D  I am going to have an ATC day today :-)

Here is my 2nd entry over at FUN WITH ATCs - Die Cuts Challenge.
I decided to use the other part of the die cut..... you know the bit that's left. I have a box of these sort of 'snippets' after cutting stuff and it seems a shame not to use them. I have done a reverse decoupage frame that goes down into the middle and the Sunflower is from BECCY's PLACE. I edged it all in Peeled Paint ink by Tim Holtz Then I used the left-over bits from cutting out tags the other day that said 'Be Happy'. I placed a little 3D bee on the top too from CDS called 'Cute as a Bee' and added a little Stickles to his wings, then I drew him a little fly line  to add movement. :-D

Thanks for looking and I'll see you later. x

DO YOU FEEL MUSICALLY CHALLENGED ???

Hello and happy Sunday,

I have done a piece for MUSICALLY CHALLENGED #7 at last !!! The deadline was creeping up on me.
The song this time is  'Seven Nation Army' by The White Stripes.  I can't say I enjoyed the song and the video made me feel extremely queazy..... far too much movement there - it's enough to give you a migraine !!!! :-( The Sponsor is The Stamping Chef.
Anyhoo - I have made my own background to look like elements from the Video and I have used a Kenny K image - "Star". I coloured her with Copics and then stuck her on there with foamies to make her stand out a bit :-)  I took the last two lines from the song "All the words are gonna' bleed from me and I will think no more", and the Font is called 'Blood'.

DESIGN TEAM THROWDOWN #7

Hello Peeps,
I hope you are having a fantastic Saturday and will enjoy a crafty weekend. :-)
Here is my entry as part of QUOTH THE RAVEN DT for the Design Team Throwdown #7 over at SMEARED & SMUDGED. This Post is a bit picture heavy but you'll see why............

Click on Pics to enlarge

All the images are from my new rubber stamp set by Smeared Ink - Quoth The Raven :-)
This is a chuncky ATC - the basic measurements are standard - 2.5" x 3.5" but the depth of these babies is 1.5".  I have split mine into three 1/2" sections and then rejoined them, so it gives me more surfaces to work on.
I made a little quill pen from part of a feather and sort of Washi tape by stamping on some pale masking tape. The roses are from my stash. All edges distressed with black ink. Papers are from 3 Hearts Designs at the Digital Scrap Cafe.
I hope you will pop over to QUOTH THE RAVEN and see what my Teamie Sistahs ... SHELL  and BLACK DRAGON have made, and don't forget - you have until 1st August to enter our latest POE related Challenge at QTR..... IndePOEdence Day.

Now - if you would like to Vote for your favourite DT creations in this Throwdown Challenge, you have until 30th JULY to do so. Please go HERE.

A BIT OF METALWORK

Hello Monday Peeps..... Again !!!

Over at SMUDGY ANTICS this fortnight, the Challenge is to use some METAL. It can be real, faux, recycled cans etc. all that kinda' stuff.
I have gone for a backing of the inside of a Greek cake box, which is like crinkled tin. I put it through my new MBossaibilities folder from Spellbinders - 'Creative Cogs' then I put some Alcohol inks on it. When they dried I smurged some Black Stayzon over the top to bring out the embossing a bit more.
The images are from SMEARED INK....  'Open Corset' from the SI Heavy Metal Set and the lady is part of one of my exclusive digis for SI... 'Mirror, Mirror'.  I fussy cut all the bits out of the corset and mounted the sides on 3D foamies with a slight bend, so the front bulges out a bit. My lady is also mounted on foamies. Sentiment  I made myself.

OH - FROG IT !!!

Hello Peeps,
Today I have made a card for two new Challenge sites that I have found :-)
The first is a Group called 'INKY FROGGIES' over at The Crafter's Cafe. It is being hosted by some good friends of mine and is aimed at STAMPING UP product users. If you get to join them - you too can be a FROGETTE  LoL  :-)
The task for January reads thusly;

The challenge: Create a project using a Stampin’ Up! stamp that either is a frog or depicts something pertaining to frogs.  What you interpret as “frog pertaining” is up to you, suggestions include lily pads, ponds, grass, and, of course, flying bugs.  Stretch your imagination and have fun with this theme.

I have some SU digis, and the one I used is called 'Sprinkled Expressions-Heart'.

The second new Challenge is a brand new one from Sandy of SCRIBBLES BY SANDY fame and is called the SCRIBBLES DESIGN CHALLENGE BLOG. For this one the rule is to use an image by Sandy for your project.
I have chosen to use 'Gone Buggy' with the associated Sentiment... which just makes me laugh every time I read it. My froggy was coloured digitally in PSE9 and I have made a circular easel card using a Monet background. I enlarged the little fly Sandy drew and made some bigger ones to decorate and hold the easel open :-)

So - there we are :-) I hope you will pop over and have a look at this new Challenges and give them some love and encouragement xx

SASSY :-)

Hi,
Over at FOREVER NIGHT CREEPY CHALLENGES, Challenge 57 is Add Some Lace/Anything Goes and this time is sponsored by SASSY STUDIOS. I must admit I have several SS images but haven't used them in ages so it was great to firk them out :-)
This one is called VAMPIRE ROSALI.

I used DPs from Crafty Chaos, a button, some sequin lace and red twine. The back plate was cut with a die cut and mountings were with sticky pads for added height. :-)

TAG IT ON

Me again,
I'm feeling inspired today :-D
I was browsing Black Dragon's blog when I saw a challenge over at Dragon's Dream, where they do a thing called Tag It On. The theme this time  is 'Bird Song'  - a novel about WW1 by Sebastian Faulks - and I was totally inspired by the story and the gorgeous creations over at Dragon's Dream.  Now, I'm not usually one for making tags - I've only ever done 3 I think, - but I recently sent off for some tags to have a play. So, here is my effort.....

I have used several images for the background and superimposed them upon each other. The lady is from itKuPiLLi, ribbon is from my stash, the rose I made myself, and the bird is a die-cut... one of a few I bought from a sweet friend Linda who is selling them at her Blog shop. Go to Scrapcat Cards by Linda to get some great die-cuts at super prices. It's a great way to get them as I couldn't afford all those cartridges she has for her Cricut !!!! I also added some extra cut out barbed wire over the top.
I hope you like my effort :-) xxxx

Crazy Amigo - Use a Tag
Simon Says Stamp - London, Paris or New York.

FOREVER NIGHT

Hello Peeps,

It's time for Freaky Friday Challenge 5 over at Forever Night Challenges. This is a relatively new site I have found and here's what they say on their Welcome.....
"For those who enjoy the dark side of crafting.
We create challenges with an dark edgy theme in mind. Such as Emo, Gothic, Steam punk and punk Just keep in mind that Halloween, also cute is great but the darker the better."

So....perfect for those of you who want to dabble your toes into something a little different :-)
Anyways, this week's Challenge is "Mystical Women" and they are sponsored by the fabulous Delicious Doodles .
I have used my own digi - Witchy Mou - and teamed her with a background paper from Crafty Chaos Designs - the 'Jezebel's Remains' set. I also used a black Doily from Poppy's Cabin and the Happy Mother's Day rose design sentiment is from Delicious Doodles.

SKETCH FOR SATURDAY

Hi Everyone,
Over at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays this week our Challenge is a Sketch and you could win yourself a CuttleBug Embossing Folder - Moroccan Screen. :-D This wonderful sketch was created by SSDS's very own Suzanne from My Crafty Corner.

This is my creation. I used an image called TARAH + TAREK, which I know was a Freebie somewhere but I'm really sorry I can't remember whose it is. I tried to find out this week but have failed miserably so far. I coloured them in my graphics programme and coloured picked from the elephant border to create the backing papers.

Why not come over and join us for your chance to win :-D
