Wednesday - Run Away Without Leaving Home

I LOVE THIS!!!!!  I mean Love.

And there are SO many Eiffel Towers in my house it's ridiculous.  I'm sure people make fun of me about it behind my back.

And I have nowhere to put it.  Absolutely nowhere.

UPDATE:  I just totally went and bought this.  I thought of a place to put it.

Etsy Purchases - Part II

I've already talked about Etsy art this week and you all know about my deep abiding love for it.

Here are two more pieces that I purchased last weekend.   They are coming to me all the way from Sweden!  How cool is that?  I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do with them, but I think I have a little spot in my guest bathroom that will do...

Wednesday - Leave Home Without Running Away

If you haven't been to Jennifer Squires' Etsy shop, you really should check her out.  I have three of her pieces in my house and I am distraught that I don't have more.  I'm out of wall space, y'all!

A Little Something Pretty for the Weekend

Isn't this cute?

My mom loves butterflies so I got one of these for her upcoming birthday.

You can order yours from Terrordome  over on Etsy.

My thoughts have turned to spring lately.  Warm air, longer days and budding flowers....

Wednesday - Leave Home Without Running Away

It's Wednesday!

A little peony.  Because it's winter and it's January and we all need a little - something pretty.

Wednesday - Leave Home Without Running Away

My best friend and I have been talking about pink.  Neither one of us can get enough of it lately.

So we have luscious, luscious pink for Wednesday this week.

New Bag

I have been searching for a durable, roomy and lightweight bag to haul my stuff around in when I travel.

You know, the laptop, the ipod, the Nook, the Nintendo DS, the books, the magazines, the paperwork, the cords to charge it all.....

And I found this one on Etsy.

It's made by the nice people at Moop. I ordered it yesterday and I'm excited to get it. I've taken several road trips in December and so the utility of this bag is very apparent to me right now. I didn't want something precious or even fancy. I just wanted something soft and washable that can double as a sightseeing bag or a beach bag or a gym bag or a whatever bag, when it's not sitting prettily in the backseat of the car full of electronic and analog media.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Choose Joy

I found this on Etsy.

I know that I've commented about my love of Etsy in passing, but I'm not sure I've ever really gotten into just how good I think it is.

It's so good, y'all!

This little poster is from Eva Juliet's Etsy shop and I found it while browsing around one Sunday afternoon.

Now it's hanging in my bathroom.

And it's so perfect for what it says and how it says it and it's even turquoise! I'm in such a turquoise mood lately!

It just sums up my whole philosophy of life for the past few years. Ever since I became "Zen Tonya".

You have to choose your life. You have to choose how you decide to see your life. You have to choose what you're going to believe about your life.

And I've decided to choose JOY! And Etsy! And, lately, a lot of new electronic gadgets.

What will you choose in your life?

Lovey Doves

Oh, you know I love these little dove bowls.

You can get one at Paloma's Nest.

I just think they're darling, sweet, and so, so lovely.

2010 Wall Calendar

I've been looking around for a new wall calendar for next year.

I wanted something a little unusual - but not weird.

Enter Hammypie.

I ordered the lovely, simple and elegant Penmanship Practice Wall Calendar from her Etsy shop.

It hasn't arrived in the mail yet, but I'll be sure to update when it does.
If you're looking for a new calendar, there are some super cool ones on Etsy and you should go there and shop! Support local artists and swank up your house at the same time.
What could be nicer?

Kitchen Art

So, I've become something of an Etsy addict lately.

Affordable and totally cool art. Delivered to your home! What's not to love?

I got the two GORGEOUS photos above from Jennifer Squires' Etsy shop. She's great to work with and her work is uniformly fabulous. I really admire the ability to take a simple subject and make it look sophisticated and special without making it seem ordinary.

Jennifer has the knack, y'all.

I actually ordered a third piece and am anxiously awaiting its arrival.

Go! Shop! Buy!!!

Etsy Saved My Life

By now we are all well aware of my slightly obsessed and vaguely neurotic search for the perfect living room throw pillows. I could muster up some faux embarrassment about this but I'm too far gone.

Last month I enlisted the help of a very nice lady at Calico Corners who tried to help me locate some fabric with which to have pillows made. Despite her efforts we weren't able to find what I wanted. And frankly the $389 estimate she gave me to have 3 pillows made was, in and of itself, cause for pause.

Around the same time, I was doodling around on Etsy and found some pillow covers that I liked and that were what I thought I wanted but couldn't find in Charlotte - or anywhere else, for that matter. Since 2 sixteen inch pillow covers cost $30 I figured - What the Hoo.

I paypalled the woman $36 - which covered the covers and $6 to ship them from England.

Three weeks later - Voila!

They are perfect!

I can't believe it. I also don't know what I'm going to do with all my free time now that I don't have to shop for living room throw pillows.
