Sketch

Here is a quick sketch I did the other day at home on my moleskine (always with me). There is something dark and sad about this character, but I like it.

Planting Season

My house is in the middle of a field. During spring time, huge fields are planted en masse and the planters leave tell tale marks in lines like corduroy. As obstacles are encountered, for example, a lone tree, creek, fence line, house or even a small hamlet must be planted around with as little disruption to the pattern as possible.

The warrior's stare

A value sketch for a work in progress

Here's the initial sketch. I was a bit lazy so I only drew one half and later flipped it in PhotoShop :-)

Monster Popularity

Monster Popularity

For a Manitoban article. I haven't actually read the story yet, but I was told it was about the popularity of certain monsters. The person requesting the illustration (not the author) told me that the Frankie in the story was "one part charles manson, one part
oprah, one part einstein, and one part "journey" (the band)."
I gave him a Charlie shirt. She liked it. :)
See the large version here.
EDIT: The story can be found here.

Wondergirl

Pencil sketch of my daughter as wonder girl. The costume is a bit of a hodgepodge of different things the character or her older counterpart have worn. Her favorite flourishes like the cape and bracelets were a must.

PSM-Spiderman 3

Inspired by the new Spiderman movie coming out. This is my initial pencil, from here I plan to clean this up and color it. Go Spiderman!
