Take 12 August and Other Camp-Friendzy Challenges

Thanks to Scrap-Friendzy's Camp Friendzy, ScrapbookSteals MWM, and Let's Get Sketchy sketches, I have gotten more done this summer than I expected!  I often combined he sketches from SS and LGS with the challenges in CF, but still I did on average 3 projects a week - which is pretty good!  These are four of my most recent projects.

This first one is my Take 12 layout for August.  I used some Echo Park For the Record that I won from their Facebook page.  I love the blues, yellows, and greens in the collection!  Some black AC Thickers, Twinery twine,a nd some solid cardstock finished the page off.  I used a sketch that was a challenge in CF (by Valerie Salmon), and it worked out well to include the twelve photos and all of the journalling.

This next layout was also a sketch from CF (by Tabitha Triplett).  It is an 8x8 layout made with kraft cardstock and MME Paris and Co 6x6 paper.  I finished it off with a piece of ribbon for Webster's Pages and a piece of chipboard I covered in paper (as well as a small amount of ink around some edges).

This layout is one of the SS Pearl 5 sketches.  I used PiggyTales paper (Steadfast Tin Soldier) as well as some stashed stickers from Target and Thickers for this.  The Camp Friendzy challenge was Under the Stars - use stars and something sparkly.  For the sparkle, I put some glitter nail polish on the big blue star as well as teh strip of red paper at the top.

Finally, this one was a SS MWM sketch form way back.  I had done a layout with it for a friend, but I hadn't done one for myself.  So, I used the CF Ghost challenge (black background, something light, and something white) and the sketch to make another 8x8 alyout from our dating "years."  The papers are MME Six by Six and the trims are Webster's Pages.  And of course I finished it off with Thickers and a button.

I hope you enjoy these layouts!

Take 12 May

I finally got my May take 12 page done.  I use the Let's Get Sketchy Challenge #6 for this one.  I also used a challenge in Scrap-Friendzy.  It is called a Smores challenge - texture for the graham crackers, two browns for the chocolate, a circle and some white for the marshmallow, and and some sticks to roast it all on.  With the texture in mind and bright colors in the photos, I went with some AC Amy Tangerine for this one.  I used some fabric paper as the background.  Then, I added more texture with the white circle.  I sprayed the white cardstock with water and then crinkled it up.  I ironed it a little to make it dryer and then just let it air dry.  Once it was completely dry, I put it under a phone book just to flatten it a bit.  For the stick part, I used two toothpicks that a trimmed a little.  Then, I put some washi tape (from WalMart - Studio G) on it.  I thought the flags would be fun since the layout includes some NA5CAR watching.  As a finishing touch, I cut a few of the hearts out of the background paper and popped them up (the cuts are under the white circle so no one will notice).  I like the tiny bit of pop this gives the page.

Blog Hop Follow Up - WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT!

First, let me say thank you to everyone for your comments on my blog.  I am glad you liked everything I was able to create.  I tend to work on things in little pieces, often getting 15-30 minutes to work at a time.  I get quite a few of these little bits in during the day - like when I put my kids down for naps to make sure they are going to sleep or while the big kids watch a show.  I rarely get more than an hour uninterrupted even if my husband is home though.

Also, I plan on writing up a How To's Day post on the corner bookmarks for the ScrapbookSteals blog.  They are really easy, so hopefully there will be directions there in a few weeks.

And finally, time for a winner!  I created a Word document with all of my followers.  Here is the list:
Then I used random.org to select the winner:
And #41 is Michele Duffy!  Michelle did comment on the blog hop post, so she is the winner!
Michelle - Email me at stephaniesumpleby {at} gmail {dot} com with your address, and I will get a package of goodies out to you!

Now to work on my MWM/Take 12 page!  Have a great day!

I will give Michele 1 week to email me.  If she has not emailed me by next Monday, I will pick another winner.

Take 12 March!

So, for my March Take 12 layout, I found a great layout on Scrapbooks, etc. for three 3x4.5 photos.  So, I created 3 collages with 4 photos each using my trusted friend - Picasa.  Then I went to sketching out the layout in the Silhouette Design software, which is what I do for most layouts these days.  As I was sketching it, I decided to incorporate two other challenges - Use It Tuesday's green challenge and a challenge by a Facebook friend to so a monochromatic page.  I found 6 different green papers in my stash that worked together, and I put them all on kraft cardstock.

Here is the sketch and the layout:

Fancy Pants Happy Together
Echo Park Times and Seasons
My Mind's Eye Abbey Road

Little Yellow Bicycle Tiny Princess

Take 12 February!

So, I got another Take 12 Challenge done.  Here is my February layout:

I used Fancy Pants Happy Together paper along with some twine and kraft cardstock for this layout.

The twelfth photo will be replaced with a slightly larger one later - probably about a 1in circle.  I tried to cut the actual picture for it, and I destroyed the photo.  So, I just put the "negative" on the page for now.  Oh, and the snowflakes aren't really there.  I just didn't want our Sunday schedule posted on the internet for safety reasons!

Take 12 Challenge - January

Ella Publishing Co. posed a challenge for this year - take 12 photos on the twelfth of each month, and then scrap them.  I decided to take this challenge on, as it would be a good way to scrap our "day to day" life.

When it came to scrapping the photos, I decided to use a time line of the day.  With little kids whose schedules I know will change probably each month, I thought having this written down would be nice for them when they are older.  I decided to make 2x2 pictures (6 pictures per 4x6 print) to both cut down on price and to get the page completed faster and easier.  I may just copy this layout for every month, or I may mix it up a little - we will see.

I used a random set of paper punch out paper, some solid card stock, and some Imaginisce Animal Cracker embellishments.  With the quantity of journalling and pictures, I wanted to keep the page fairly "clean."

So, here it is:
