"Hearstrings DT BLOG HOP"

Hi everyone!  It is BLOG HOPPING time over here with the Heartstring Design Team to showcase some amazing stamps from My Heart Stamps for You.  If you hopped on over here from Shelley's Blog, then you right where you need to be.  If you would like to start hopping from the beginning, click right HERE!

I have been so super busy, I made this card a few weeks ago because I just knew I wasn't going to have time.  After I made it, I wanted to share it with everyone right then and there because it was so stinkin' cute.  So without further ado...

...For the base of the card, I used Kraft Paper (8 1/2 x 4 1/4).  I used these really cute birdie stamps ( I have to think about where these stamps are from) and colored them in with prismacolor pencils and blending tools.  I stamped these birdies directly on the kraft paper to see an illusion of a shadow behind them as I set them on pop dots.  Using a border punch (Upper Crest) for the birdies to rest upon followed by a really thick brown and white polk-a-dot ribbon.  I finally used a heart punch to cut out five hearts in a white cardstock and attached them to ribbon that coordinates with the colors used for the birdies.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment 'Friendships are tied together with Heart Strings' from our sponsor My Heart Stamps for You

WAIT!

Before you leave, I am giving away some BLOG CANDY.

Hello everybody!  It it's time to share some more fabulous works from the Heartstrings Design Team.  While this time around Shelley, will not be doing a challenge on her blog, but there is a possibility that she will have something for you on her facebook (you might want to sneak on over there to check it out...Heartstrings!  The theme this time around is "Cute Critters."  This will include anything animal that is cute, soft, cuddly, squishy, and furry if you will.  I decided to use this cute bear (I am loving bears lately)....look below...

...This cute, squishy, cuddly, furry little bear is a stamp from none other then our sponsor, 'My Heart Stamps for you.'  I just love these stamps, they are so much fun and whimsical.  I colored this bear with colored pencils and chalk very softly in a carmel and pink color.  I matted with pink cardstock and used a pop dot to stand out on the card.  As a background I used this pattern paper from 'Petals &Possibilities.'  I layered at the bottom with brown cardstock and a sentiment stamp from 'My Heart Stamps for You.'  The sentiment was stamped on white cardstock and I used chalk to color it a soft pink.  And viola, you have a really cute card with a cute critter on it.  Please don't forget to check out the rest of the design team, as they too have come up with some really great creations.

"Sometimes...other times..."

Hello everyone!  So I have done did myself in this time.  I pulled my sciatica a few afternoons ago and I could barely get around, move, let alone walk for that matter.  I was able to find a comfortable position crafting for just a little bit and then I had to give myself a rest.  But during that time I put together this really cute card that I just had to share.

So...The stamp I am featuring here is from My Heart Stamps for You (MHSFY) and it is in the the Inky Inspiration collection.  I just love her and how she is portrayed in all the stamps, they are a must see and possibly a must have.  I used colored pencils and chalk (Pebble Ink: I Kandee collection) to color her and her surroundings in!  I putting this in for the fun in the sun Challenge going on at Hearstrings Design for the BLOG HOP.  **Please don't forget to head on over there to show off your beautiful creations and win some blog candy.  Also click here if you would like to win some blog candy that I am giving away as well.**  I hope you all love this this sweet summer card I created and get inspired to create some summer projects yourself.  Take care, until next time!

"Happy Birthday to YOU"

Hello all!  So I thought this weekend was going to be super BUSY...but my Hubby isn't feeling so great and the good wifey that I am, I am taking care of him.  While he is sleeping, I thought I would get some crafting done.

On that note, I am part of a card club with some of the most creative ladies that I know and every month us ladies (10 to be exact...I think) create cards to exchange once a month.  We have changed things up a little bit because I don't know about you all, but I am thinking 10 cards is a lot of paper and supplies.  So we are breaking into groups of 3 and 4, which will lessen the amount of cards we make and we will rotate groups every month.  It is so much fun to see what everyone comes up.  For this month, I was inspired by a card that Kristina Werner created and this digital stamp that I found over at Fred She said Designs (this was created by her son...so cute and I couldn't resist).  Please check out their blogs and see where my inspiration came from.  I took the sketch and made it my own.

Finally, I am also entering this card in the "Operation Write Home: Stars and Stamps" blog.  This is an awesome blogs that supports our troops to send them blank cards to send home to their families.  It is an amazing thing what they are doing over here.  Check out their blog, they are blog touring this weekend.  I hope you all love and get inspired to get crafty yourselves.  Take care, till next time.

"It's a GIRL"

Hello everyone!  I am sorry I have been away.  Life's work needed to be done and so I took a brief break from my blog and crafting (it really has only been just under a week) and I got a lot of things done.

So now that I that I feel refreshed and in desperate need to craft, I just had to share the news.  One of my dearest childhood friends Janell is having her first baby. I am thrilled for her and I had to create something fun and baby for her to congratulate her soon to be bundle of joy.  I created this today using my new set of chalks that came in the mail about a week or so ago (I Kandee from Pebble Ink.) and just had to dive in to use them.  I used pastel colors and paper from a scrap pack by Best Occasions.  The ribbon is from Joann's when their spools were on sale a while back.  However, this wasn't the only reason I was making this card, I wanted to also join in on the challenge over at 2 Sketches 4 You (2S4Y).  This is what the sketch looked like...

I hope you all love it and get inspired to create something fun or even jump in on this challenge, you can click their link just above!  Take care, till next time.

"Happy Birthday

Hello everybody!  I know it has been a few days since I have posted, it has been crazy busy around my house lately.  So much to do and never enough time to do it in.  I spent a good majority of the day crafting and I got a lot of things done...YAY!  I just had to share this birthday card with you.  I felt like I was put to challenge.  I begged, borrowed, and stole this awesome pattern paper from my friend Ruthy and she said something along the lines of, "I just know that you are going to do something awesome with it and I can't wait to see."  I came up with this sketch, this is the first time I have ever sketched something out and I am super excited.  I know this will not be the last.  Without further ado, here is the sketch...

For this card, there was so much detail that went into making this card.  I used I kandee chalk from Pebbles Ink to distress the edges.  I took ordinary paper flowers and stamped different background images on them.  One of the flowers was handcrafted by Shelley from Heartstring Designs, I added a little bit of chalk to blend in with the colors used for this card.  A few brads here and there to tie the card together and a "happy birthday" sentiment stamp from Hero Arts to finish.  I hope you all love this card as much as I do.  I give permission to borrow my sketch and place it on your blog as long as you recognize in your blog where you got the sketch from.  Be inspired and get crafty my fellow scrappers.  Take care, till next time!

"Friend"

Hi all!  I see that many of you have been getting crafty in one way or another.  Just a friendly reminder to head on over to Heartstrings Design Team Challenge...'red, white, and blue.'

I wanted to jump on the Everything But the Kitchen Sink (EBTKS) sketch Challenge, as well as, create a card to post over at Two Peas in a Bucket for a Kristina Werner Challenge.  Love that I can create a card to work for two different challenges.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  On that note, this is the sketch used at EBTKS...

And for the Kristina Werner challenge, I was to create a card that was black, white, and one other color to create a card.  I think I did just that.  I rummaged through my left over embellishments and I love how the card turned out.  I hope this inspires you to join in on one or both of these challenges.  I had a ton of fun.  Now its your turn to get crafty...take care, till next time.

"Hello"

Hello all!  I can only hope that you are all getting crafty and joining in on the red, white, and blue challenge for Heartstrings Design.  I was getting crafty today and creating a 'Hello' card for a challenge with Kristina @ Kwernerdesign.com and Two Peas in a Bucket, as well as, designing a card that would fit the criteria of another challenge over at Paper Patch Crafts.  So for the 'Hello' challenge, I was to either use the sketches based on Kristina's year in cards for June or come up with our design, as long as it is a 'Hello' card.  For the Paper Patch Crafts challenge, it was to follow and create a card based on this sketch.  I wanted to dig outside the box and came up with this cute creation.  I hope you all get inspired to get crafty.  Take care, till next time!

"Miss you"

Hello all!  I have had a super busy weekend and I didn't think I was going to get any scrappin' in, which I didn't, but things are back to normal this Monday and I got crafty.  Over at My Creative Time, it is another Throwback Thursday challenge.  The Cricut cartridge suggested for this challenge is 'Stretch Your Imagination'...well I don't have that cartridge and so we were allowed to use specific colors (red, blue, and brown) along with a Cricut Cartridge we have.  On that note, I used scraps from my scrap pile, the George and basic shapes cartridge to cut out the circle, a little bit a stamping, and my blender pen.  I hope you all like the creation I came up with, it was a last minute design, wasn't sure if it was going to work out at all.  FYI...the challenge ends tonight, so head on over there to get your project in.  Take care, till next time!

'My Creative Time' THROWBACK!

Hi all!  Over at My Creative Time with Emma she has a 'Throwback Thursday' with Cricut Cartridges.  I am not sure if I will always be able to participate as I am limited with very few Cricut Cartridges (which is okay with me, until I get more).  However, for this challenge Emma was very specific to using animals on a creative projects.  On that note, I will be throwing back to 2009 with Lyrical Letters.  This cartridge is mostly full of various types of fonts; however, there are several sentiments, animals, flowers, amongst many other things that come on this cartridge.  Very versatile (which I love).  I haven't been able to use this birdie before and I think it was just super cute.  I layered the birdie for an undercoat effect, along with rolling the wings with a pen to allow them to stick out a little bit.  I had a lot of fun creating this card, as I had no idea what I was going to do with the birdie or how I was going to lay it out.  After much thought, this is what I came up with.  I hope you all like it and find yourself inspired to join in on the fun.  Take care, till next time.
