Capture Life´s Moments

 Hello all!

This is my second project for the September challenge at Country View Challenges, "The Leaves begin to fall". I created a canvas in mixed media style.

For my focal point I used the wonderful die with fitting embossing folder from Tim Holtz, called Layered Leaf.
I made a video, you can watch my creative process here:

Here are some more pictures:

I hope you like my autumnal canvas, I had much fun creating it!

Now it´s your turn to make something for the challenge. There is left time enough!

Create Magic - Mixed Media Canvas

Hello all,
today I want present you my make for Bleeding Art, where I was invited as their guest this month.
I was the winner of the August challenge with this art journal page.

I decided to make a little canvas for the Anything Goes theme.

In September I took part in a workshop with the wonderful Anna Dabrovska (finnabair) in Munich. I enjoyed the workshop very much and I wanted to make something like in the workshop, so I decided to make this canvas in the "finnabair-way".

Here are the canvas and the notebook, I made in the workshop:

And this is how I made the canvas:

I started with a blank canvas and first gave it a coat of white Gesso. Then, when dry, I added some white crackle paint here and there.

I glued down many embellishments, some made out of Prima moulds, some metal embellishments, flowers, lace, chipboard, .......and much more! When everything was dry and stayed save in place, I went over with white Gesso.

Then I added color, liquid acrylics from finnabair in Purple and Magenta, then I dry brushed the surface until I was happy, added some shine with finnabair Metallic Acrylic Paint White Pearl. Some waxpaste was added here and there, Rust Paste, hot glue stripes, art pebbles sugar and some splatters with black Gesso. Last I added some words from Tim Holtz Big Chat.

Now I hope you like my canvas and feel inspired!
Thank you for your visit!

"The magic of books" - Mixed Media Canvas for Country View Challenges

Hello and happy sunday!
Today I want to share my second project for the challenge at Country View Challenges this month.

I made a Mixed Media canvas called "The Magic of Books". Fitting to the theme this month, Letters and/or Numbers, I wanted to share with you my love for books and reading.
Letters become words, words line up to senteces and fill books. And what magic can happen, if you read a good book! You can travel to foreign places you never have been, you can travel through centuries, taste without eating or drinking, feel without being touched, jump into other person´s lifes. You can laugh and cry, feel touched or scared and so much more - absolutely magical! I love reading!

I made a process video while creating - it´s a little bit longer, so grab a cup of coffee and enjoy watching!

Here are some close ups:

I hope you liked my canvas, I had much fun creating it!
But now it´s your turn to make something with letters and/or numbers for our challenge, I look forward to seeing what you made!
Remember, you can win a 20£ voucher for the shop!

Canvas "Falling Leaves" - DT Project for Country View Challenges

Hello dear visitors,
welcome to my second project for the October challenge over at Country View Challenges!
Autumn is showing it´s most wonderful side here in Bavaria with nice sunny weather and all it´s glowing colors. Last weekend we had a little autumnly visitor here.

Hallo liebe Besucher,

Cute, isn´t he?
Putzig oder?
But now to my take on the challenge:
Aber nun zu meinem Beitrag für die Challenge:

I made a little canvas with colorful leaves. The leaves are made from modeling clay and I used the Tim Holtz Alterations "Layering Leaf" die and embossing folder from Sizzix. I made a little video, where you can see how I made it. Enjoy watching!

Now to the canvas:
Nun zum Keilrahmen:

I prepared my canvas with one coat of Gesso and added Texture Crackle Paste (DecoArt) and Structur Paste (Pentart) for texture. I left it to dry.

When dry, I sprayed the whole surface with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist "Stone" to break the white - it´s such a cool Mist! Look!

I added some spritzes of water and let the color run down for even more interest.

I also added some sprinkles of PaperArtsy Infusions "The sage" and activated it with water. When dry, I glued down my leaves, some 3D Balls and colored them with watercolor. Then only some words (Big Chat) with foam squares and some shading around the leaves and I was ready.

That´s it for today! Now I hope, you will join in with our challenge, there is plenty of time left.
As always you have the chance to win a 20 £ voucher for the shop.
Thank you for your visit and have a wonderful weekend!

As Time goes bye - More ways to create rust - DT work for CVC

Hello dear visitors!
Here I come with my second project for our RUST challenge at Country View Challenges!
This time I made a little canvas with many rusty awesomeness =).

As I promised on my last post, I´ll show you some more ways to create rust. If you hop over to the CVC April first blogpost, you will find many different ways shown by my lovely teammates, so don´t miss!
I played around to find some more possibilities, which are not shared yet - well, not easy ;-). But I found some - please grab a cup, it is a long post ;-)

1. DecoArt Texture glass + DecoArt fluid acrylics
I took Texture glass and mixed it with some fluid acrylics in burnt sienna (sorry, no step x step here).
I dried it with my heating tool until it bubbled a little bit. Then I rubbed on top some other colors (yellow, cobalt teal hue, naphtol red light and carbon black) until I was satisfied.

2. Distress oxides and Distress Inks
Here I played a bit with my new Distress Oxides in peeled paint, broken china, walnut stain and spiced marmalade. I added some Distress Inks in rusty hinge and black soot. I layered several times, scratched in the paper and crumpled the paper. Well, I think it is not the very best rusty look, but may be as background for cards usable.

3. Acrylic paints and Decosand
For the next test I took some Acrylic paints in fitting colors and sprinkled into the wet paint some Decosand from the Discounter - this one even smells like coconut  =).
I made some step x step photos - they are speeking for themselves.

I love, how it turned out! So try it out. You can use salt or sand as well I think.

4. Tattered Angels Naturally Aged Paint System - Bronze Patina
This one I used on my canvas. Some time ago I made a video how to use the paint system. Enjoy watching!
This is my canvas:

5. DecoArt fluid acrylics, Tinting Base + Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam + Inka Gold
I painted my gears with DecoArt fluid acrylics and after drying I added some Gimmer Glam (BonBon) and dried it with my heating tool until it bubbled. Lastly I randomly rubbed some Inka Gold on top.

Now I put all pieces together, added some "Bling" and a photo, some flowers and gears - and ready!
And here finally is the finished project!

Wow, this is really a looooooong post! All who came right here - thank you for reading!

I hope, I could inspire you and you´ll find time to join in our challenge! You can win a 20 £ gift voucher for the shop!

Thank you for stopping by!
