PTI Swap #5 - Regular Cards
I have been working on my cards for the Papertrey Ink Swap #5 on SplitCoastStampers, hosted by my friend Chris. This time I had signed for two spots in the regular cards and two spots for the sketch cards. I have finished my two regular cards and they were so much fun to make...
Here are my two regular cards,
I did not have the Enchanted evening ink, so instead I used the Ranger Distress Ink - Faded Jeans and quite happy with the results. This card was inspired by some card I had seen online, but cannot remember where and I had not bookmarked that card. If you know or remember or see a similar card, please let me know and I would love to give credit to them.
Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Everyday Button Bits

PTI October Blog Hop
It is time again for a PTI Blog Hop. The blog hop this time was to show our best upcoming Holiday plans for cards, gifts etc...
I have tried to get a head start on Holiday cards this year...:) It is still a slow progress. I was very inspired by the Take a Note released this month by PTI - from Mish to create these cute note pads. I thought those would make very good holiday gifts. So, that is what I am planning to do this year, do these notepads as gifts and also do some of the no layer Holiday cards showcased by Nichole.
Here is one of the notepad that I did as a gift,

Paper - PTI White, Kraft and New Leaf CS. PTI Bitty Dots and Bitty Boxes DP

Triple Challenge Card
I wanted to share the card that I did for three challenges today. I used this digital freebie image from Inger Harding. I love her images.
Here is my card,
The three challenges were,
1) Copic Creations Challenge - Coloring Black with Copics. I used C5, C7 and T6 for coloring the hair black in this image. As per the tutorial you can see on Copic Creations site, the colors that Suzanne Dean uses are C5, C7 and C9. I did not have C9, so I had to substitute.
2) Copic Color Challenge - Challenge #36 was to use the Colors V17(Amethyst), YR68(Orange), G99(Olive).
3) Just Us Girls Challenge - To add a 3D flower to your project. They have a fantastic tutorial also. But I did not have the Blossoms nestabilities. So, instead I used the five petal flower punch from Paper Wishes and created my own 3d flower. Basically I punched out three flowers, edged with ink, then folded two of them and then curled the third one using a tooth pick and then put them all together with a jewelled brad.
Supplies:
Stamp - Digital Freebie Image from Inger Harding, PTI Simple Things Anniversary Set
Paper - 120 LB Pure Luxury CS from Gina K, SU DP, SU Orange CS, PTI Rustic Cream CS, Bazzill Yellow CS
Ink - Memento Black, Copics, PTI Avocado Ink, Brown chalk ink
Other - Jewelled Brad, Paper Wishes 5 Petal Flower Punch, SU Word Window Punch

Copic Color Challenge #35
The copic color challenge #35 this time was to use the Colors - R27 (Cadmium Red), BG05 (Holiday Blue) and G02 (Spectrum Green). I did not have BG05, so instead I used B05.
I used this really cute Dustin Pike Digital Stamp (Freebie) from his blog - Dragon with Wreath. I used a combination of G09 and YG63 for the wreath, R27 for the bow. G02 and B05 was used for his belly, scales and Horn and the Dragon was colored with T4. I just reapplied T4 to give it shading. I am kind of happy how this turned out. The sentiment is from the Stamptv Kit - Holiday Cheer from Gina K designs.

Copic Color Challenge #34
I had not played the previous Copic Color Challenge as I was kind of looking for some new images to color. Then I found quite a few Digi Stamps out there and fell in love with them.
The Copic Color challenge #34 - this time was to use the colors YG95 - Pale Olive, R39 - Garnet and C4 - Cool Gray No.4. I did not have YG95 - so instead I used YG93 and YG97. There are still certain aspects of the coloring on this image that could be improved, but I am quite happy how it turned out. This was quite new for me to color such a complex image.
Here is my card,
This Digi stamp is from Inger Harding. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. It is a freebie that she is offering called - Waiting for Santa to Come. I colored the Girl's dress with C4 and her coat with R39. I used the YG93 and YG97 for the door. I have decorated the inside of the card with the same DP and added a sentiment. Forgot to take a picture of it.

WCMD Challenges from PTI
Nichole Heady at PTI had these four challenges for the World Card Making Day. It was like globe trotting with cards :) Lots of fun.
WCMD Challenge #1 - Japan
I did not have any Asian Themed PTI Stamp sets. So I used the combination of Boxes, Bags and Tags and Beyond Basic Borders. I created this card bases on my feel of Japan and its art and colors :)
Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Boxes, Bags and Tags, PTI Beyond Basic Border
Paper - PTI Ocean Tides Bitty Boxes DP, PTI Rustic Cream CS, PTI Pure Poppy CS
Ink - PTI Pure Poppy, PTI New Leaf
Other - SU Word Window Punch, White Gel Pen, Sakura Star Burst Pen
WCMD Challenge #2 - Mexico
I used the Guidelines 2 Stamp set to create a tiled background and used it with Lemon Tart Bitty boxes DP. Some how these colors always convey Mexico to me :)
Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Guidelines 2, PTI Vintage Picnic
Paper - PTI Bitty boxes DP in Lemon Tart, Guidelines 2 CS, PTI Ripe Avocado CS
Ink - PTI Pure Poppy, Ranger Distress Ink - Faded Jeans, PTI New Leaf
Other - PTI Vintage Buttons
WCMD Challenge #3 - India
I used the Guidelines stamp set to create the background and then added some bling to it. Kept it simple with juts the sentiment (which I printed from the computer). I added a few pure poppy buttons too. I used a combination of Orange and red Inks as lot of Indian Saree's have this color combination over pale blue background :)
It might be hard to see the bling on this card as the photograph might not be capturing it well. But it looks beautiful IRL.
Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Guidelines
Ink - PTI Pure Poppy, PTI Orange Zest, Versamark
Paper - PTI Aquamist and Pure Poppy card stock
Other - PTI Vintage Buttons, Gem stones
Challenge #4 - Australia
I was influenced by the reds and browns in the Australian art and plus I used the challenge of dotting the stamped images with White Gel Pen. :)
Supplies:
Stamp - PTI Background Basics Retro, PTI Flower Garden
Paper - PTI Kraft, Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate CS, PTI White CS
Ink - PTI Dark Chocolate
Other - Nestabilities, Ribbon, White Gel Pen

My Simple card for Raspberry Suite Challenge #17
Howdy All, It is October already :) I am not much into Halloween cards for some reason. Although I love putting up Halloween decorations :)
So for Dawn's Raspberry Suite Challenge #17, I ended up doing the a simple Holiday Card. I used the one of the images from Vintage Label and tried to create a frame...but after I see the picture, it is kind of skewed, but I still like the card.
Basically, I cut out a square piece of card stock, used it as a mask and stamped this image around it on the aqua mist card stock. Inside, I stamped the sentiment from Signature Christmas. I created the background page using the Guidelines Stamp set on Kraft card stock. A simple ribbon finished it off. I thought of putting some bling on the aqua card stock, but somehow it felt nice as it is.
Here is my card,
Sorry for the bad picture. This is what happens when you work late in the night on challenges.
