Saturday Sketch Challenge 253

Good Evening Friends!
It's time for another sketch challenge from your Stamping 411 Operators.
We also have a bit of a celebration in order!  I just wanted to take a moment to celebrate with you our two operators who earned the Stampin Up incentive trip last year.   They are on their way to meet Mickey Mouse.  It takes a lot of hard work and determination to earn the yearly trips and I wanted to take a moment to congratulate our team mates Lee Conrey and Tammy Fite  for earning the trip!  Way to go ladies!!!

We have another fun sketch for you to try out this week and some samples below for your inspiration.
Here are some potential measurements for this sketch.
Base Layer: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded in half at 4 1/4"
Layer 2:  5 1/2" x 2"
Layer 3: a ribbon or a 5 1/2" x 1/2" piece of cardstock
Layer 4" 4 x 2 1/2"

For individual measurements, try visiting our operator blogs below.
Don't forget to leave our guest designer some loving comments for being so cool and joining us this month.  We are honored to have you Erna.
Okay!  And away we go!

Are you ready to play along?  We hope that you are!  Here are our rules for play.
  1. Make a card using your Stampin' Up Supplies!
  2. Post it online somewhere to your blog or other online forum
  3. Post a link to the free linky tool below (please point the link to your post and NOT just your blog).

Stampers Showcase 140

How very appropriate that I have cool news to share today on a day when we showcase folks that play along! There is a star among us! Our very own Robin Merriman was featured in Woman's Day magazine and interviewed on the "product party" topic. I believe she represents Stampin' Up very well.. If you would like to read the article, It can be found here. What a wonderful accomplishment!

And speaking of accomplishments! The votes are in, and here are your operator picks for SSC140. Thanks to all that play along every week.. You are all fantastic!

Congratulations to Connie Babbert!

Congrats to our very own Connie Babbert who was published in stampers sampler this week for this adorable card!

Rock On Operator!

Here's what Connie wrote about this cute card!

"I used one of my favorite Halloween sets, Eat, Drink & Be Scary and combined it with Good Friends. But my challenge was how to make that cute little bird scary enough for Halloween! I know! Turn him into a crow with Black Chunky Essentials Glitter for his body! I used Heat & Stick Powder adhesive so the chunky glitter would really stay on!

The hat was stamped with Black Craft and cut out. I added a band of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. And I stamped the Eat, Drink & Be Merry with Black Craft on Whisper White, and punched it with the Curly Label Punch. I also punched two black Curly Label Punch pieces and placed them behind the white one for a layered look.

The three different kinds of Designer Paper are retired from a couple years ago (still one of my favorite Halloween papers, but easy enough to replace it with other DSP). The base of the card is Pumpkin Pie. I had a blast making this card…hope you enjoy it!" Connie Babbert

Well, I think it's stinkin cute! Way to go for your accomplishment Connie!

A Big Woo Hoo for Selene and Gretchen!!!

I am very happy to announce that our very own Selene Kempton and Gretchen Barron have won the prestigious Heart of Stampin' Up! award. This award is only given to one (in this case two) demonstrator(s) each year.

The Heart of Stampin' Up! award is given to those who go above and beyond the call of service. They exemplify what Stampin' Up! is all about. It's about selflessness....caring for others.....generosity.

If you are not aware, Gretchen and Selene are the leaders and founders of the Sudden Response network. When a demonstrator faces some hard times (fire, flood, illness, etc....), these two women network with other demonstrators to help get them back on their feet again. Their kindness has helped many demos who would have to start all over if it had not been for their caring, generosity and leadership skills.

Once again, Selene and Gretchen, congratulations on this accomplishment. You are both so deserving of this award, and I am proud to call each of you my friend!!!!

As Selene would say......"Rubbah Hugs",

Inspired!

Oh What a night! I am having trouble sleeping... I'm still too excited.

I just have to share! I am overwhelmed with joy! I noticed that at stampin up's annual convention tonight, two of our top 5, Kay and Tiffany both received awards!

And our very own Stamping 411 Operator Robin Merriman, received an award for demonstrator of the year number 72, and was named an advisory board member for the next stampin up year. There are many critera for receiving such a wonderful position, including attitude, performance and being an all around great asset to Stampin' Up!, but like Shelli Gardner shared with us tonight, it is so much more than that! Congratulations Robin! Rock on girl!

I am inspired by all the operators and by those who choose to play along with us week after week. Now, I see that some are names I recognize from playing along with us. My heart is filled with joy and I congratulate all those who received awards tonight. You are all VERY deserving and serve as an inspiration to the rest of us!

Stampin' Hugs,
