Up to 50% off the Janary-June Catalog - Last Chance List!

Hello there!

Thanks for stopping by today, It's a big day!  We have TEN brand new kits meant for new stampers releasing today.

If you're like me and you like to mark up your catalog, grab a sharpie and watch today's video replay and we can mark up our books together.  If you would like to just browse the sale, I made you a list below.  You can download the entire supply list at the bottom if you like.

You might notice that the list omits some of the bundles.  When you do the math it's less money to buy the stamp set and the framelits as separate item numbers in some cases.. So in that instance, I went in and tried to manually remove the bundles (which would be more purchased the other way).

Please message me if I can help in any way!  Here are the links for today's sale!  Everything is while supplies last!

Love,

Selene

4/5 Stampin' Up! Embellished Events, Multi-Marker, Birthday Card

Good Morning Friends!

I'm so grateful that the weather is getting a big better.  It's rainy and in the 40's this morning, but it's better than snow!  I love to think about the rain being the thing to make the flowers grow and bring the colors of summer all around us outside!

Well, that was a deep thought!  Enough!  Let's have some fun!  This card is super sweet and fun to make and the elements just make me happy!

For the focal point.  Notice that it's crooked on my card?  After all that marker work, I didn't want to re-stamp my image on the back, so I went with it, and just applied the cake straight, so that the panel was crooked.  Your eye might not have picked it up at first glance if I didn't point it out, but that's one of the beautiful things about stamping. There are no real mistakes, just embellishment opportunities!  I just love how all the elements of this card came together.  It's so girlie and fun, but soft at the same time!  Woohoo!
I started with a blushing bride base layer, cut to 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, and scored in half at 4 1/4".  The second layer is smokey slate 5 1/8 x 3 7/8".

For Layer 3, it's a 1/4" smaller, so 4 7/8 x 3 5/8.  We stamped the celebrate using a raspberry ripple marker, let it dry for a few seconds and then embossed this panel with the fancy fan embossing folder.  It's a really cool concept that you don't have to add another layer for your sentiment when you emboss, you just need to stamp before you emboss!

Next, I added some of the Birthday Basics designer paper.  This paper is probably going to be one of the things retiring soon. It uses 3 of the in colors that are scheduled to retire in a month or so.  The full retirement list is due out around the 24th of April, but this cute paper with the candles I'm sure is on the list.  :)  If you wait until they announce it, it seems the incolor items disappear within hours!  Make sure you snag yours before the list comes out!

The designer paper is cut to 3 5/8" x 2, and the smokey slate layer underneath is 3 5/8" x 2 3/8"  it's a little bigger than a  quarter inch to leave room for the Scalloped Edge Border Punch

Moving right along to our focal point. When I ink with markers, I always start with the lightest colors first.  So that I don't add the dark blue, then accidentally run a lighter color through the ink (which picks up the darker color in my light marker)  Making sense?  :)  I started with blushing bride, and added that color to the bottom and the middle where the flowers are, and the one candle in the middle.  Then I grabbed my Summer Starfruit marker and added color to the inside of the flowers, and the flames on the tlp of the candle. Smokey slate was next for the two candles and the top panel of the cake.  Finally, I added the bermuda bay, to the diamond pattern.

By the time I added all my colors the first color starts to dry on my stamp a bit.  So, I give it a huff ~ like I am cleaning a pair of eye glasses.  This re-moistens the ink and makes a cool lush stamp onto my cardstock, which I remind you, I stamped crooked!  That's why I kept it!  {smiles} I added dimensionals to the layer with the cake, so it wouldn't interfere with the pretty bow i tied on.  I hope this ribbon. 5/8" Crochet Trim doesn't retire.  I seem to use it on EVERYTHING.  I buy 10 rolls, and use it for everything... classes, and club, and next thing you know I'm out and buy 10 more.  I think it's my favorite!

I think that about covers today's inspiration!  I hope you're inspired to have some fun and make a card or a scrapbook page, or a 3D.. The possibilities are endless!  Thanks so much for visiting today!

Another retiring set!

I made this quick and cute card WEEKS ago for a sketch challenge over on Mary Jo Price's blog and never got around to posting it.

what a beautiful and simple layout! I'm so going to miss this set which is ALSO retiring! I've really been working out those retiring stamp sets! This was another design at my $2 card event and this one sold out! :D

Fairly straight forward, I cut my designer paper to 3 1/2" square, then stamped the sentiment in poppy parade. I took a strip of poppy cardstock and punched a border for the bottom of the DSP. Next, I added some leftover ribbon to the top left. I like that little addition.

Do you end up with tiny pieces of ribbon leftover? This is a great way to use those pieces up!

I punched the scalloped circle out of poppy cardstock and stamped my focal point on whisper white.

My friends are always asking me how it is I'm able to cut things out so straight.
I take my time.
I try and move the paper when cutting and not the scissors.
I try to leave a nice white border. (It's so forgiving, and adds maturity to the design, don't cha think?).

This is the beginning of club week for me! I have lots of friends coming (30 wonderful ladies in all). We're playing with the new stuff this week! So exciting! :D

See you soon!

Saying goodbye to "cheers to you"

Good Evening Friends!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Here's another cute card that we made at my $2 event last week.

We'll be saying goodbye to this cute set on Thursday too! A few of my friends that came painted theirs with crystal effects and will be picking up the cards this week during club.

First, we stamped the image in stazon ink. I really favor that ink when watercoloring, because it doesnt move. Next, we squeezed the ink pad and picked up the rose red color for the drink and the straw and strawberry with an aqua painter and filled it in.. So darn easy!

If you look at the center piece of designer paper, the cloud pattern on top, is the back side of the printed pattern on the bottom. So I cut a piece of 12 x 12 down to 3x4, then cut again so I had a 2 inch strip and a 1 inch strip. I ran a ribbon/bow across the center panel. The layer beneath that is cut 4 1/4" x 3 1/4", to form the 1/8" border all the way around the centered DSP. If you take a piece of regular 8 1/2 x 11" and cut it on the 8 1/2" side first at 4 1/4" then you get six pieces from one sheet! I love no waste. In addition, I punched the label underneath the cheers to you sentiment, from the little pieces of rose red leftover.

the base is 11 x 4 1/4" and I pre-embossed those pieces to help the class go a little more quickly. Such a cool stampset! Although when stamps retire I do try and sell my personal stock, there are some that I will never part with. I can't imagine ever selling this set. I mean, what would I do on st patty's day without making a "green beer" card?

If you do not already have a demonstrator and would like to place a Stampin' supplies order through me, you may do so at my online store anytime. Thanks in advance!

That's it for tonight!
Rubbah hugs,
