It's the week leading up to Valentine's of course I'm still crafting and sharing. Today I'm sharing the cute gifts I made for my son's roommates for this weeks Paper Craft Crew weekly challenge. One of the items that was released when the Hearts of Elegance bundle and all the associated awesomeness was the Gift Bag Combo Pack which had 2 sizes of bags (8 each) which were perfect for gifting. I used the smaller bags on this project (he does have 6 roommates and these bags held quite a bit of chocolate which of course is always a hit!).
In crafting these treats I added a piece of the Marbled Elegance Speciality Designer Series Paper and matted it with Basic Black cardstock. For one of the designs I wrapped a piece of Black & Very Vanilla 3/8" Large Checked Ribbon and the other design used a bow tied with Gold 1 1/2" Open Weave Trim. Other than the ribbon everything else on both designs is the same.

It's a snowy day here and if you are lucky enough to have the day off (I'm working but that's good) it's perfect for working on those Valentine's cards and gifts ahead of Friday. Today I wanted to share a card we made in last month's card class.
This card stars with Cherry Cobbler cardstock for the cardbase and then added a piece of Basic Black cardstock and then a Basic White cardstock cardfront that's embossed with the Adoring Hearts Hybrid Embossing Folder. Next I added a strip of the Marbled Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper along the left side and wrapped a piece of Gold 1 1/2" Open Weave Trim.
The large black heart was cut using Basic Black cardstock and the Hearts of Elegance dies. The greeting is from the same stamp set and was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink on Basic White cardstock before cutting it out with the Greetings of the Season Dies (these are on the Last Chance List so they are on sale so make sure you get then before they sell out). I sponged around the edge of the greeting piece with Basic Black ink before attaching to the cardfront with dimensionals.
Final touches were to tie some more of the Gold 1 1/2" Open Weave Trim through the hole on the greeting and then added a few Adhesive Backed Heart Sequins.
I just keep saying, with this stamp set, dies, and DSP you really can't go wrong, you're going to make beautifully fabulous projects that all coordinate to perfection!

It's been a great week and I wanted to share a card I made this weekend using this weeks Paper Craft Crew Inspiration Challenge. Of course I'm still on the Valentine roll and loving it, haha! Now you know I love me the Marbled Elegance Speciality Designer Series Paper and have been using it EVERYWHERE but I decided to take a break and make a valentine NOT using that paper.
This card using Basic White Thick cardstock for the cardbase and then added Cherry Cobbler Cardstock as a mat for the Basic White cardfront. Now before adhering the pieces together I embossed the greeting using the Hearts of Elegance stamp set, Black Embossing Powder, and the Heat Tool. Next, I embossed the card using the So Swirly Embossing Folder (you have to make sure you heat emboss the greeting before embossing the cardfront to get a good image).

I started with a Melon Mambo cardbase and then added Basic White cardstock as the cardfront. To this I added a square of Marbled Elegance Specialty Designer Series Paper that's matted with Melon Mambo cardstock.
Next I cut a couple of different hearts using the Hearts of Elegance dies as well as the same DSP and Gold Foil. I used dimensionals to pop up the gold hearts (the little gold heart at the top is made using a retired heart punch which was just the perfect size).
The designer series paper has so man different colors you can pick and choose which color to showcase, and I will admit with all the gold foil accents it's hard to use the reverse side but there are some wonderful subtle patterns on those sides which are not to be missed. This is a great card sketch that could be used so many different shapes for an occasion which is awesome!
