SG19 Botanicals

It is Sketch Girls challenge time... and Leigh Ann has another fab sketch with so many possibilities. I fancied mine up a bit and added lots of layers and kept it to purple/ivory and black using one of the newly released sets from Gina K. Designs Botanicals.

Here is the sketch:

Today I am combining 2 challenges into one...yep, trying to do like some of my favorite bloggers...you know who you are, Patti, Lori, Olga, and countless others! The two challenges are the Sketch Girls challenge and the fun Etsy Inspired Challenge.

I used the stamp set Sew Pretty and Nana's Needlework Sentiments for my card as well as from Limelight Papercrafts some gorgeous Webster's Pages and two different lace: Crochet Natural Trim and Delicate Pink Trim. This week the Etsy Challenge is inspired by the beautiful Creations Designs store. I chose these pretty earrings and took my inspiration from these colors.

Limelight Papercrafts is the sponsor this week and the winner will receive some Basic Grey products: Max and Whiskers Epoxy Stickers and Buttons! Please visit the Etsy Inspired Blog for more info and to link up your card!

SG17 ~ Webster's Pages

Here it is the last day of April (wow, this month flew by!!!) and time for another Sketch Girls sketch challenge! I made mine using some more fabulous Webster's Pages that I ordered from Limelight Papercrafts. I just love this paper and so thrilled Mandy is carrying it in her store. I used the stamp set Lovely Labels for my focal image. The White Crocheted ribbon was sponged with Groovy Guava ink and layered with a strip of Groovy Guava ribbon. All in all it was a very easy, quick and fun card to make :o)

Here is the sketch for this week:

Sketch Girls #16

Welcome to another Sketch Girls sketch challenge! I had to think on this one a bit to decide which direction to take my card... However, once I received some new Webster's Pages patterned paper I knew exactly what I wanted to do! I used the stamp set Nana's Needlework (just love this doily!!!) and sponged it to make it match up with the patterned paper. I added a Webster's Pages Sparkler to the center (they are so pretty IRL!!!)

And here is the sketch:

Sketch Girls #15

Today is the last day of March which means it is time for another FAB-ulous Sketch Girls sketch! This one was so much fun and I managed to use some scraps from my table for this one (always a bonus...because I have plenty being a messy stamper. In fact, Melanie has a great Scrap Challenge on her blog this week...be sure and check that out!).

I used the newest set from Tami called Fairy Tales and paper pieced this adorable frog once more. The sentiment is just too cute and yes....I kissed many a frog (uh-hum...they were really toads, lol!) Not sure it works or not, but I added a heart brad for his lips and maybe if you imagine he is really puckering up it will work :o)

Here is the sketch:

We would love to have you play along with our sketch this week! Be sure to link it up over on the Sketch Girls Blog. One lucky winner will win a $10 Gift Certificate to Phindy's Place

Pressed Flowers SG13

When I saw this sketch I thought some flowers lined up would be perfect and what better set than the new Pressed Flowers (which by the way goes perfectly with A Year of Flowers). I love two-step stamping and stamped the flowers first in Pretty in Pink ink and the outline using Memento Dandelion. The center of each flower was just perfect for some buttons so threaded with some pale pink organdy ribbon, tied in a knot and adhered with a glue dot. I used the GKD colors Innocent Pink, White and Lemon Drop for this card and the patterned paper is more of that gorgeous Webster's Pages.

We sure would like it if you played along. Here is the sketch:
The sponsor for the sketch challenge this week is Wild Flower Kids.
Wild Flower Kids has cute digital stamps for every occasion focusing on creating whimsy in the everyday. You can find more information on Wild Flower Kids on their BLOG and in their STORE. A random winner will win 5 free digi images from the store and they are all so cute!

Sketh Girls #12

Sketch Girls has a fabulous sketch this week that is not to be missed. I made mine using my favorite green Wild Wasabi and found some scraps of Afternoon Tea DSP from SU. Instead of a having a rectangle as the focal image, I made mine into an oval and used part of a Fancy Tag from Spellbinders.

Our sponsor this week is Sassy Studio Designs who will be providing the randomly drawn winner with 4 images of their choice. These are so cute that I am sure there will be something right up everyone's alley! I hope you will play along with us on this sketch and make sure you link your creation to the Sketch Girls Blog. You may be the winner of four images of your choice from Sassy Studio Designs :o)

SG11 and an Award

This was a challenging sketch for me...I know the other girls will have some fabulous designs, but I struggled with mine :o(

I used the new Organize Stamp TV Kit for mine and made a birthday card. I am always lacking birthday cards and scrounging around to create last minute... I am glad I tried it though, it made me stretch from my normally clean lines of design. After seeing what the others create, I may try again :o) I hope you will play along with us on this sketch and make sure you link your creation on the Sketch Girl blog and you may be the winner of a template of your choice from Perfect Presentation!

My dear friend
Olga gave me the sweetest award:

This award requires that I list 10 things about myself and I pass it onto 10 fellow bloggers so here it goes...
10 things about me in no particular order....

3. I am a nightowl.
4. I love flannel sheets in the winter.

6. I would love to work at Starbucks one day.
7. Procrastinating is a great flaw of mine.
8. I love days when I can stay in my pajamas ALL day!
9. I need to shave...my legs!

SG8 and Award

Is this a great looking sketch or what??? Leigh Ann comes up with the best sketches...  I love this one...Here is what I came up with:

I just love this sketch and see myself using it again and quite possibly with my Christmas cards this year. It is a pretty basic card....the stamps are from the Holiday Cheer Stamp TV Kit.  I embossed the snowflakes and sentiment with White EP and added pearls to the center of the snowflakes. Sorry the top of the card is a little blurry, I think it was the light not reflecting well with the white cardstock. I tried several times and could not get it clear enough...

Be sure to check out what the other Sketch Girls came up with and we would love for you to play along with us over at the Sketch Girls Blog :o)
Before I say ado...

Mary Anne gave me just the sweetest award. I so enjoy her blog and chatting with her over at STV...really have met a great group of ladies over there! So I am supposed to tell 5 things you may not know about me... Let's see:

1. When I was 6, I jumped off of a cliff holding onto a Hawaiians back into a pool of water on the island of Oahu. From the smidgen I remember, it was fun. My dad was a Marine and stationed in Hawaii.
2. I graduated high school in Okinawa, Japan (my dad was still in the Marine Corps)
3. I always wanted to have 4 kids and homeschool. Well, the Lord blessed me with 3 children (the last being a distant third and we are extremely blessed, but done in that department) :o)) Too old to do that again....being labeled "advanced maternal age" at 35, left me needing some serious therapy (just kidding, of course)
4. I love when I can stay in my pajamas all day, stamp and watch movies (especially in the winter when it is cold and I can have a nice fire in the fireplace and a cup of coffee). It doesn't happen often! :o(
5. I am not sports inclined at all! I enjoy watching others play, but when I participate people are embarrassed for me...just ask my husband! :o)) So I stick with paper crafting!

I know that these awards have been all over the place so will try to nominate some I think haven't received one yet.

Cat ~ just love her designs..they always inspire me!
Tina ~ love her very creative designs...and she is always so helpful when I have a question...just recently with a paper trimmer.
Melissa ~ love the way she uses color and dp...I have bought a few extra things because of what I have seen her create :o)
Michelle ~ my Aussie friend who has such a versatile stamping style
Shelly ~ new stamping friend who just amazes me with her projects!

Have a great day!
Blessings,

Sketch Girls #4

Today I have a card to share that I made with using the Sketch Girls sketch. Now let me be the first to tell you this one was challenging...in fact, I made another one and couldn't get the sentiment placement right so gave it one more go at it and so glad I did.

This one "works" if you know what I mean. Oftentimes we just use a sketch as a general idea and I have no problem with going a bit off the sketch, but this time was challenging myself to STICK to it!   I used the stamp set Timeless Treasures designed by Theresa and some Basic Grey designer paper.  The card base is Soft Sand with Chocolate Kiss as a layering piece.  I love the sturdiness of the Gina K. Luxury cardstock...just can't be beat!  I stamped the lock twice and popped one up on a dimensional to add a little extra umph!

This month there is a contest for a 2 sketch Guest Designer spot with the Sketch Girls Design Team. The winner will be chosen from all of those that participate...the contest will start with this sketch and end in two weeks when the next sketch (SG5) goes up. The fun part....the Guest Designer will participate with us for SG6 and SG7 and get a special blog badge! There will even be a prize for the winner of this sketch...so get to creating with this sketch and show us what you've got! :o)

Be sure and check out the rest of the Sketch Girls creations for more inspiration (on my side bar) and hope to see your card linked up very soon!!!   And don't forget about the chance at my blog candy which you can find below this post :o) Have a great day!

Sketch Girls #2

Well, it is the 30th and that means it is time to share another card made with a Sketch Girls sketch. I have got to say this was a fun one to put together and I enjoyed using my new postage style stamps/template from Just for Fun Rubber Stamps. Be sure and read the bottom of this post for some info. on how to win some free stamps!!!
I used the sea horse image from the Eclectic Summer Stamp TV Kit which I paired with So Saffron, Handsome Hunter cardstock and some dp from the Lime Rickey Basic Grey line.  Did you know new Basic Grey designer paper is being released soon for fall?  I saw it in the new PaperCrafts magazine and I am so excited :o) Honestly, I think Basic Grey is my favorite dp!!! The bottom of the card needed a little something so I wrapped/tied around some green tulle I have in my tulle stash. This stuff is cheap and adds nice texture to a card and the netting is very nautical looking.  The rest of the sketch girls have some fabulous projects to share so if you get a chance, check out all of their eye candy: Leigh Ann, Alyssa, Harriet, Chris, Eve, Sara, Bonnie, Jessica, Julie, Katie, Randee and Tiffany.

Sketch Girls is having a giveaway this week so be sure and stop by and get all of the details to see how you can win a free stamp set (and doesn't everyone need more stamps!!!) :o)))  There will be three lucky winners and those odds are GOOD!  Have a great day!

Sketch Girls Challenge #1

Leigh Ann has combined a group of girls called Sketch Girls and twice a month we will share cards made with our interpretation of the sketch. She has formed her own sketch blog HERE and will be keeping a list of the sketches we do each month. If you are like me and need a starting point with creating a card, this is your go~to place! Here is the card I came up with:

With this sketch I saw another fun way to use some more Basic Grey Lemonade designer paper, you aren't tired of it right? I used the stamp set Elegant Flowers and colored right on the stamp with markers and Stampin' Spots. Be sure and check out the other Sketch Girls and see even more creative eye candy... Leigh Ann, Eve, Harriet, Alyssa and Sara.
Have a great day!
