More details of my adidas F&F Conductor

One of my favourite ideas for my F&F Conductor is the orange heel flex zone.

As a reference to the high-tech performance sports shoe the model debuted as, I assigned this little piece the texture and colour of a basketball.
Still can’t believe nobody ever thought of doing that, but I really love it.

Another detail is the two slogans I put on the inside of the tongue:
‚Don’t believe the hype‘ the famous public enemy song starts with „caught you lookin’ for the same thing
It’s a new thing, check out this I bring’
and is not only a great poetic introduction to my pair, but the slogan has been part of my communication for a long time when it come to talking about my passion for sneakers. Because I don’t see sneakers as an investment and I certainly have little interest in shoes because of their common hype.

Vintage VS retro represents my way of looking at today’s sneaker industry, the mass productions, the created hype and at all the remakes aka retros of sneakers. It is a hashtag I use on my social media to show how seldomly these releases live up to the originals and the sentimental value, the digging and networking for knowledge that I associated with collecting vintage in contrast to sneaker trend consumption.

Today is revelation Day!

Today I can finally share what I have been working on for the past 2 years.

I tell you it wasn’t easy to keep my mouth shut.
Here‘s my dad in the adidas x SneakerQueen Conductor I created for my (sneaker) family and friends.

Only around 30pairs were produced and will be handed out to the people who are dearest to me and share my love for classic basketball silhouettes.
These are a symbol of gratitude for the community around me that I cherish so much and the people who where a big influence on my style and on becoming who I am today.

Since this is a family and fiends production I wanted to first present this special pair to you on the feet of my father.
I adore him and am so grateful to have him despite or maybe because he is the most conservative, stoic person I know and I am so fascinated by his energy.
When I asked him to get infront of my camera for a ‚fit pic’ (he really doesn’t like being photographed) he instantly said yes.
I love how he’s rocking these in his own style and am so lucky to have a father who puts up with all my shenanigans. I never stop learning from him and us.

This Conductor is made of premium leather combined with debossed suede (the same that was used in the adidas consortium Tabula Rasa pack) and Italian premium faux snakeskin (or armadillo scales, like my homies like to call it ;)

Obviously this execution is mostly inspired by the og white and grey Conductor, but also by the way females have been uplifting street style to a premium level for decades.
Just like I did it with my Rivalry Hi 10 years ago, I wanted to create a luxury version of an original icon with this pair.
I also wanted to include some ‘female attributes’, so the shoes are lined with a quilted grey satin inspired by a classic Chanel handbag.

Referring to the high tech performance this model symbolised when it was first released, I made the heel flex zone (that little accordion like cushion on the back of the shoes) in the color and texture of a basketball.

I am excited to hear what you all think about my work and can’t wait to gift this special collaboration to my family and friends on October 2nd @beinghunted

My adidas F&F Conductor

The release of the Collective - Court to Concrete pack has been a highlight of my year, but there is still something waiting to be revealed!

As most of you know by now, each one of us @erniepunk @tommy_triggah @defynewyork got to do our own very personal F&F shoe and I am so excited to already give a first peek and show you all I have been working on tomorrow.

As the only woman on this curators team (apart from the wonderfully talented @tiffanycrewsss who made all of my collaboration dreams come true together with @tduffles202) I felt the urge to represent and pay tribute to the many inspirational female tastemakers, who paved the way with style and grace for women like me.

Hip Hop and so called streetwear would not be as diverse, colourful and exceptional without their contributions and genius.

Whether behind the scenes (@janettephoto@marthacoopergram @iamaprilwalker @misahylton@bevysmith @juneambrose @gr8fullgirl @kmilele@moluv4nyc @deardrewdixon ), in the spotlight (@mcdebbied@imroxanneshante @saltnpepaofficial @queenlatifah@sparkydmusic @mclyte #finesseandsynquis @djjazzyjoyce ) on the streets or even just as plain inspiration for the guys who ‚did it for the honeys‘‘.

(Black and Latino) women played a vital role in HipHop‘s style history by de- and re-constructing it, by playing with gender and class specific status symbols and by elevating style in a new context.

Please feel encouraged to comment any women you feel have contributed to the culture in the 80s to celebrate them and widen the picture!

The Collective - from Court to Concrete

I am stoked to finally show you what @Erniepunk @Tommy_triggah and @DefyNewYork and
I have been working on for the past 2 years:

For this adidas collaboration, Ernie, Tommy, Scott and I have formed 'the Collective',
a group of 80s lovers and collectors, to curate an exclusive release on some classics from the
Patrick Ewing line.

After countless hours, email and sleepless night 'the Collective' is releasing two pairs of shoes
- an adidas Rivalry Lo 86 (yes they are a bit different to the ones you have been buying the past
years) and a Conductor - this saturday the 29th of July 2023, worldwide in very limited numbers.

To celebrate the occasion we planned a little pre-release event at Overkill Shop this Friday,
so everyone is more that welcome to come by enjoy drinks, snacks and music as well as a
small heritage exhitbion to dive into the world of 1986 on the first floor.
Also there will be some VERY special limited collectors goodies at the pre-release for the first few
customers who purchase a pair of the pack!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop and there are few basketball shoes more
connected to the earlier days of the movement than the adidas Rivalry and Conductor.

My love for the Rivalry is generally known and I have similarly strong feelings for it's big technical
brother the Conductor.
So I am head over heels we got to work on both silhouettes for this collaboration and bring in
so many different cultural influences to this project.
The inspiration behind the remake of these two models is the late 80s, when they transitioned from
court to concrete an hence the name of the pack.

In the next few days I will tell you a bit more about all the details and easter-eggish features,
but for now I firstly want to invite everyone who is in Berlin to join and celebrate with us!

Of course this is a much bigger group effort, than just the four of us nerding out.
So a big thank you to @adidasoriginals for investing in us, but especially to @sventheguide for your trust,
@tduffles202 for going all in on this, @tiffanycrewsss for holding on to all those ends of the many
ropes and to Peter Gellert for helping us tie that final knot!

And last but not least, big up to @overkillshop and @maks_mit_ks_ for helping us rolling this project
out to you all!

Slide through the photos I shot to check out our two shoes in combination with some OG pieces from Ernie's
and my vintage apparel and memorabilia.

Time to Party

In a few weeks it’s been 10 years since my first trefoil collaboration hit the shelves.

My adidas Rivalry Hi SNEAKERQUEEN was the first one to reintroduce this hightop beauty back
into the market in 2013 and I must say I still cherish and wear my pairs (I am on number 5 now)
like on the first day.
This is the logo I designed back then based on the OG adidas Ewing logo, as I was not allowed to
use the original logo and wanted to keep my design as close to the real deal as possible.

Since a lot has happened in the last decade and anniversaries call for a celebration, I have been
cooking up something special!
Can’t wait to show you all soon what I have been working on and share it with my worldwide sneaker family!

The Archive Room

On Tuesday I spent a wonderful evening with Ernie at the size? x adidas panel talk in the
saatchi gallery where currently the amazing 'Beyond the Streets' exhibition is being
showcased.

We had the pleasure spending a short time almost by ourselves checking out the impressive
collection and where in awe of the curation and mass of inedible rarities!
Ernie himself exhibited 32 pairs of his Adidas basketball collection, and I felt honored to see
my SQ Rivalry amongst his selection.

After some last touch ups on his pairs, the displays where sealed and the doors opened.

At the following panel discussion we had the chance to speak about my favorite subject with
f3lix and DJ Semtex - the socio-cultural background of various sneaker models.

A quick meet with Jason Coles and Thomas Turner was the icing on the cake.

A big thank you to Size? for this great short trip and to everyone who came out even though
I hardly got to talk to most of my guest. Hope I see you again soon
