JAI#69...Just Add Fussy Cutting

Hi and happy Friday friends ~

This week over at Just Add Ink Paula set us the challenge to add 'fussy cutting' to our projects. There was a fair bit of cutting in my flower layers. Lots of fun!

I've gone with a Crumb Cake base, layered Basic Black c/s and some Love Letter dsp on top and inked my flowers in Pumpkin Pie. They've had the Champagne Shimmer Paint treatment too *smile*.

Head over to JAI and check out the inspiration this week. Hope you'll join us for some 'fussy cutting' too.

A card, a frame and another CD case

Hi there ~

I'm really excited about this little present I've prepared for my adorable niece, Noah. She turns 8 this week and is all girl - I love it. I had so much fun playing with pinks and flowers and butterflies ...

Her mum tells me she's into Katy Perry in a big way and so the whole family is going to have to suffer this one ... it's the latest CD, once again dressed up using Keesh's tutorial.

Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo and a touch of Certainly Celery. I love the Petal Pizzazz stamps, they can be as girly as you want to make them.

Next is an 8x10" shadow frame - her bedroom is outfitted in various shades of pink, of course! I have been inspired by lots of frames in blogland, particularly Adele's with all her pretty flowers and bits. I've stamped on Whisper White c/s using an image from the Pocket Silhouettes set in Pear Pizzazz and the freehand reeds are by me! My butterflies are Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight. Each butterfly has a 'bling' centre and my frame is finished with the gorgeous Satin Ribbon in Whisper White - love that stuff. I've used Sticky Strip inside the frame to hold it all together neatly. I am hooked, I can see myself doing a few more of these frames.

Unfortunately I didn't get a good pic of her birthday card as the light was dull by the time I had let the 'puffy paint' on the scallop edges dry. This next pic shows all three together, and is a little over exposed unfortunately.

Well all these goodies are wrapped up tight and winging their way to New Zealand - I hope it arrives on her actual birthday this Saturday! Happy birthday beautiful Noah ... with lots of love from your Aunty Trice xox.

Petal Pizzazz

Happy Monday afternoon ~

Thought I'd pop on very quickly to show you this card I made for a friend to give to her 10 year old niece. Lilli loves to see her name on cards because the spelling is slightly different to the norm and she finds it hard to buy all those cute little cups and money boxes etc that come pre-printed.

You've seen this card before here in subtle colours. I've made Lilli's with Melon Mambo which stands out perfectly for a 10 year old girl I think! I covered the letters of her name with Crystal Effects and there is a big 10 on the inside to match. If you'd like any other details give me a shout.

Enjoy the rest of your day :o)

Just Add...Colour Combo - JAI#34

Thank god it's Friday ~

August and September seem to be really busy months for me. No particular reason either. I just find myself flat out and trying to achieve everything that needs to happen ... and feel I'm constantly trying to catch up despite how many ticks go against my 'to do' list. This is my fairly poor excuse for being a bad blogger lately :o)

Here is my card for our Just Add Ink challenge this week. I love the Petal Pizzazz set and thought it would be perfect for these pretty feminine colours. The little curly pieces of 'ribbon' are thin slivers of c/s scraps curled around my paper piercer, and to stiffen them up I've coated them very gently in Crystal Effects. That gorgeous sentiment is from the level 3 Hostess set Occasional Quotes.

My photography is worse than ever! I even made myself a light box! I think it needs a little refining and instead of photographing and submitting my dt card at the very last minute (late at night) I had better have a little play and practice with my new lighting system first.

Head on over to JAI and check out the other gorgeous dt creations. I'm sure something will inspire you to want to sit and play along with us :o)

Curtain Call Colour Challenge, Act 20

Hi and happy Tuesday ~

I'm really enjoying trying the different challenges I'm finding. This is my first colour challenge and it was surprisingly easy for me - I've always shied away from colour challenges preferring to stick with 'what I like'. Perhaps this one was easy because they are colours I like, although haven't necessarily put together before.

I found the challenge here at Stacey's Stamping Stage, Curtain Call Colour Challenge Act 20

Sorry for the blur!

I made a flowerpot card using the following SU! items:

Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery
Stamps: Petal Pizzazz & Best Yet
Other: Button Latte, Certainly Celery ribbon, Eyelet border punch, glue dots, snail, dimensionals
