About Me

My photo
Alicante, Spain
Hi. I live in Spain with my partner. I am retired and LOVE it. I love life here but I do miss my family back in the UK, two sons and three sisters and my Mum. Crafting is my life, I do something every single day. In the past it has helped me get through some bad times in my life. One such bad time was when my first grandson died aged just 14 months. He had been born 8 weeks prem but was very healthy and was growing into a beautiful, bonny boy. It was such a shock when the call came. A day never passes when I dont think of him. I am now Nanna again to grand daughter, Hollie, born July 2012, and Tess born March 2016. This is my younger son and his partner. I now have another Grandson, Noah, born Nov 2013 to my elder Son and they have 3 daughters Aurora, born March 2015 and Arabella, born August 2017 and Arianna born 2019. Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy my makes. Please leave a comment so that I know you have visited me. I love reading them all. xxxx

Choccy Boxes for charity

 Good Morning All

As you know I give alot of my makes to charity and I like to make boxes and fill with about 8 greeting cards for them to use as raffle prizes.  As I had quite afew boxes made I decided to fill with chocs for them.

I added a tiny label so that they would know what was inside and tied with ribbon.

These are the chocs I put in, they are like Ferero Roche, yummy.

I also bought  half a dozen bottles of various alcohol for their Tombola or raffles.
This is what the money goes to when I collect at my craft club  -  from selling cakes or, sometimes Dawn does a Lucky Dip.
It all helps.

There is a tutorial HERE on You Tube

All the ribbons are from Crafty Ribbon

Gingham for Crafty Ribbons

Good Morning All

Crafty Ribbons are having a Showcase week on their Facebook page and there is a bundle of Ribbon up for grabs, all you have to do is comment on their opening post.

I used JND Heart Box die (just the sides) and made these Oval boxes.
I made the bows with 23mm Gingham ribbon

I wrapped one box with Grosgrain ribbon with Macaroons on HERE
and the other I wrapped paper around and added another bow.

I shall use these for my Craft Club ladies gifts at some point.

Dies Challenge Day 29 & A S/B Box

Good Morning All

I was gifted this die by June from Poppyfield Cards Blog because she knows I make lots of boxes for my Craft Club Ladies and it is very useful.
I think it would fit a nice choccy bar and I did bring quite afew back with me when we visited Mums afew  weeks ago.
It cuts the box, the words and a heart and a flower.

I cant believe how many dies I have and I still have lots more to go.  I think I may have to show two projects in some posts just to get through them all!!!!!

Dies Challenge Day 22 & JND Advent Pop Box

Good Morning All

I love this box die from John.
It is a good size and you can decorate to your hearts content.
I did mine very quickly and just used afew of the dies that are included.
See the pic below to see how many dies you get in the box.
I used sturdy white card and the coloured card is some I bought whilst in New Zealand in 2007.
It is Paua Shell card, which is a shell native to New Zealand.
Very beautiful and they make jewelery from it.

You could even decorate the inside to make it really special.

This is the die, well worth buying if you can get hold of it.

These are all the extra dies you get aswell as the box die, obviously.

Dies Challenge Day 9 & JND Heart Box

Good Morning All
John Next Door die today and it is his Heart box,
I initially bought this because you can make any shaped box with it as that is the way John designed it.
I cut it in Black and then a floral patterned piece for the top.
I must admit, it is a little bit fiddly but I am going to watch Johns Tutorial again and try making it a different shape too as I make lots of boxes for my Craft Club ladies.

The leafy swirl is one I got in a swap I think and then added some Spellbinder flowers, some twine and a sentiment tag.

Here is a link to Johns Craftalong on Hochanda when he demoed this die along with others.

Last day

Good Morning All
Well our time in UK is nearly over.
Home tomorrow evening and Craft Club on Friday and then collect Rico from Kennels.

I made these boxes to hold  6x6 cards and a Gift bag for afew goodies.
I shall give to my Slimming Club leader as she is raising money for a very good cause in the UK to get a little girl some pioneering treatment.

The next two cards are quite CAS for me, but made from offcuts and afew of my little butterflies.
The sentiments are die cuts that came with my Gemini machine from Hochanda.

Happy Sunday

Good Morning All

Instead of a sketch this week
( 'cos my laptop has decided to fall out with my printer, so I cant print anything)
I gave my ladies some ribbon and buttons  from my Crafty Ribbon DT supply and my own.
I made up little bags with some extra bits in.

I have quite a stash as I won the Crafty Ribbons Challenge twice before I became  a DT member.
So if any of you would like to join in my little challenge, just create  using ribbon and buttons, just like the Moving Along With The Times Challenge  last Thursday.
Here is my little lot.

And here is the card I made, I didn,t use the Wagon ribbon, I added a Happy Birthday one instead.
I had to add afew pearl hearts to hide some splodges of blue ink from when I was inking the edges.

*************
At the Craft Club on Friday.

I have made many of these boxes before but afew of the ladies wanted to be shown how to make them.
This is mine that I made to take to the class to show how they can be decorated.
Here is a link to Christina Griffiths You Tube tutorial.

********************
The gifts I gave my ladies on  Friday.

I added a choccy biscuuit and a couple of gems and a dangler.

I made the boxes, once again, following a tutorial from Pootles on You Tube.
I am running out of gifts that I bought in UK when I was at Ricks in February, so I will have to stock up soon.

On to last weeks sketch.

If you want to play along with this weeks, just make a card or anything with ribbon and / or buttons on before Friday.

Blue Box

Good Morning All

I had this box lying around for ages and thought I should get it finished.
So I made a lid for it and set to decorating it.
Blue, blue and more blue !!!!!!!

All the embellishments are homemade.

Sketch Gift

Good Morning All

This is an example of the little gift I give to the randomly drawn name of Sketch entrants.

I make a little box or a bag and add a couple of yards of ribbon, some charms and pearls or gems.
This is one box I altered.

I bought afew of these packs of 3 eggs to give as gifts at Craft Club.

I thought the boxes were to good to bin, so decorated them.

I covered it with pretty paper then decorated the top with tiny flowers, leaves and a small picture.

Then I fill with afew goodies.

Just a bit of fun and the ladies seem to enjoy it.
