rina menardi

Ever since I came back from Ambiente in Frankfurt some months ago - I´ve been dying to share this Italian master with you, Rina Menardi. Her stand at Ambiente was like a little heaven of colors, shapes and craftmanship - and now that her new website is up and running it´s time to share. Go and see her wonderful collections which are a fusion of art, design and craftsmanship. And off course it´s all on my wishlist!

Mariko Wada

I´m so curiuos to see Mariko Wada´s series of jars Software in real life one day since they have fascinated me for a while now. Mariko Wada is a Japanese Ceramist who has been living in Denmark since 1998 and received a degree from Designskolen Kolding in 2006. She mainly works with stoneware and uses various modelling techniques to focus on designs that appeal not only at the visual level but also have tactile attraction.
Don´t you just want to reach out and touch these jars?? I do!

Le petit atelier de Paris

A visit to Le Petit Atelier de Paris is now on my wishlist - how can one resist a shop with such lovely window decorations and products like the ones above.. Here you can visit the shop or the blog. I found it via Designsponge´s regional roundup Paris created by Anne who has done a great job selecting some great and interesting designers - and it seems like France/Paris is in a really crafty and creative mood right now when it comes to design with a female touch.

Rank &Yum

It´s getting darker outside - and it´s time for candles again - and these Glow Tubes by RANK & YUM are welcome in my home. RANK & YUM is a collaboration project between two of my favorite artists -the visual ideas of Venom Yum and the sculptural shapes of ceramic artist Lars Rank. Their first project is a collection of Glow Tubes - ceramic tubes with hidden decorations and patterns which will appear in the dark when a light is lit inside. And I just love their logo too.

Crafts Market in Copenhagen

It´s time again for the annual Crafts Market at Frue Plads in Copenhagen - from 14th - 16th of August. With more than 130 danish crafters showing their products - it´s a great way to get an idea of whats going on in Danish Crafts. Above is a few items I would love to hold in my hands - but I´m going to Costa Brava in Spain to celebrate my mother in law´s 75th birthday - so I´ll hold a map of Barcelona, books and a Shangria in my hands instead - see you next week.

Cammeo - by Campbell

Just love these new porcelain jars by multitalented Louise Campbell, produced by Kahler - they come in different sizes and each jar comes with a set of 6 coloured elastics. What a great combo - ceramics and elastics/rubberbands.

Dots By Rank

Lars Rank is also the designer behind DOTS - a wonderful series of plates and bowls, which I´m trying to find out you where to buy. Seen in the new Bo Bedre and on page 117-118 you can catch a glimpse of his stars and hearts.

Stars by Lars Rank

It´s a little early for Christmas - but you can sign up here or here for the 2nd Annual Holiday Ornament Swap organized by Freshly Blended and Cake & Pie. Sign-ups are only until November 9th - so be quick. I´m not participating this year - since we leave for Asia in the middle of December. But I would love to decorate my home with these porcelain stars by Lars Rank - sold at Stilleben - one of my favorite shops in Copenhagen - which will launch a webshop 20th of November here! I have a soar throat and a cold to cure this weekend - have a good one!

Crafts market in Aarhus

This weekend there´s a big Crafts Market in Aarhus, with lots of great crafters. I went there last year and got this vase from Fabula - but what I really really would have liked was one of these vases by Sandra Davolio - because for a person like me who adores anything in the shape of "from under the sea" - they are hard to resist - don´t you think?

ceramic vases

I have a soft spot for vases - especially ceramic ones - and on my wishlist is Fiducia, by Louise Campbell, which combines vases and candlesticks with small magnets - I love the styling too.

Another vase on my wishlist is Grass by Claydies, now distributed by Normann Copenhagen.
Please check out Claydies webpage, they have made some pretty cool stuff all in all - and make sure to visit the Normann Store if you visit Copenhagen.

ceramic jewellery

At Formland there was again a lot of handcrafted jewellery of porcelain and ceramics. I think Pia Daa´s work stood out and I liked her Valentines Day collection a lot and her "mushroom ring", and she has a webshop in English!

Fab Fabula!

So November is here - and it´s not a very good start when you wake up to really wet snow, strong winds and a bikeride. The photo is from my window this morning just to prove the snow - and to show off my new vase from Fabula. I´ve had my eyes on it for a long time and finally got it this friday at a big craftsmarket here in Århus. Come on November - you can do better than this!

A happy weekend ahead with sun and Design market at Lynfabrikken, a great spot here in Aarhus. Check out their website and all the cool stuff they have, like textile from Pernittengryn, and ceramics from Fabula, Clayfever and Casalinga.
