My easter eggs around the world

As I wrote earlier - my D.Y.I easter eggs and easter bunnies have been very popular - and it´s been great fun to see how they have been used in different creative ways - here´s a little round-up of photos I´ve found on variuos blogs. Thank you all for sharing.

More easter eggs

Yesterday I made these easter eggs and rabbits - with some of my repeat patterns. And now they have been tested at home I will share them here with you. The eggs are super simple to make - print them out on thick A4 paper - cut them out and mix and match. Glue 2 eggs together with a piece of sewing tread in the middle - or make a string of eggs - et voila! The rabbits are a bit more tricky - so I´ve made a front and back version of them. Cut the front first - glue it to the back of the rabbit and cut the back afterwards.
You can download the front here and the back here.

Please spread the word, respect my copyright and share the result on Flickr or your blog!

Download it here - print - cut - and spread some joy!
Ohh and the text says "happy easter" in Danish.

Add red - Valentine cards

Eventhough I´m happily married now I have mixed feelings about the whole Valentines Day concept. But I do like the idea of sending love notes or loveletters - and these cards from Poppytalk´s Handmade wedding & valentine market made me smile. The different love messages are by Samantha Hahn, Lisa Congdon, Laurie Coyle, and roll and tumble press.

If you wish to make a sweet Valentine or Love statement for a special someone - these Iron-on Pillowcase Transfers by Creature Comforts are great!

Advent decoration by Ferm

I just discovered this beautiful advent decoration in Alt for Damerne, created by Trine from Ferm Living, who is also the women behind the wallpaper in the background. It´s a branch decorated with misteltoe and some homemade birds, made from this pattern, by Spoolsewing. So pretty.

Handmade Holiday decorations

I´m todays guest at Bloesem - where I´ve written a small post and how-to guide about my handmade holiday decorations this year. I was inspired by some capice shells I had bought in Asia – but I think you can get hold of them almost everywhere – and I tried to transfer some of my photos and prints onto them – and really liked the combination of the delicate shell and the graphic prints. You can read more here.

Christmas market

I´ve been busy packing Christmas cards and making stuff the last weeks - to get ready for the Christmas Market at Bredallund this weekend - so if you are anywhere near Vejle please come by on saturday or sunday between 11- 17. (I´ll only be there saturday).
We are also having a Christmas Market at our studio the 6-7 th december but more on that later.

Sorry about the poor photo quality - but I´ve made some pretty shells with print this year and some snow crystal with Hama-beads - I make them with my daugther and it´s such a cosy thing to sit and do together - because eventually she will start talking about her day, her friends and share her thoughts while our hands are busy...

Cones by Cori Kindred

I´m also inspired by the artwork and photos from artist Cori Kindred - I guess she has a soft spot for cones too - make sure to check out her website and Flickr.

Cones inspiration

We have so many cones around our summerhouse - so last year I was looking for some ideas about how to decorate with cones and I couldn´t find any I liked. This year however I spot pretty cone-decorations everywhere - these above are from Rum and Bobedre.
I know it´s early for Christmas stuff - but I´ve got my hands full of christmas projects already - and the first Christmas market coming up this weekend at Bredallund near Vejle.

Pumpkin season

It´s pumpkin season and I´m not a fan of big fat orange pumpkins - but all these projects above from Hallmark and Martha Stewart are so funny or pretty that I feel inspired to start carving. If you are really ambitious when it comes to pumpkins then check out these photo carvings.

pressed flowers

Here´s our weekend projects. Nanna and I have been collecting and pressing flowers at the summerhouse since spring - and I finally found a way to frame them - between 2 pieces of glas - simple and pretty. And our new Caravaggio lamp by Cecilie Manz have been hung. Hope you had a lovely weekend too.

Back to normal

Today things are back to normal again - after one month without Kindergarten due to the strike - so no more stress and organizing where to play and who to look after who, no more trips to various museums, jumping in the trampoline and eating icecream everyday - but hopefully we will continue to have little guest in the studio - painting little masterpieces - and proudly sharing them afterwards - there has been quite a production going on here and the smiles on their little faces afterwards has been so rewarding. Our flat is also back to normal now - 6 weeks after the water damage - and we now have newly painted walls and a lovely new wooden floor - you see I´m practicing to focus on the good things and not give energy to things you can´t change anyway - and all this has been a good lesson and opportunity to practice this skill .)

Bloesen world tour in Aarhus

Last month I put together 2 posts about my favorite spot - and my favorite artist here in Aarhus, Denmark - for Bloesem´s wonderful world tour - and you can find them real soon at Bloesem´s blog. Hope you will enjoy them! - and a big thanks to lovely Irene for inviting me to be part of her world tour - it´s such a great idea and I´ve enjoyed visiting all the places so far. Other favorites of mine - are the spots we put up on the wall in the studio - it´s such a great and easy way to add a little colour - and please try this at home! We just painted some paper with acrylics, cut the circles out and stuck them on the wall with spray-glue. Happy weekend!

My easter projects

Here´s some pictures that sums up our easter holiday. First my little craft project - felt pen drawings on wooden easter eggs - I´m quite pleased with them .) I´m also quite pleased that I´m done with cooking and baking for our B-parties - and finally I´m happy we got to spend 2 days in our summerhouse - surrounded by snow and a fantastic light and a great excuse to do nothing at all.

things that make me happy

I found the wire for my camera 2 minutes after I bought a new one - so now I can finally share some new stuff with you. So here´s a glimpse of things that makes me happy these days. Springflowers in every room, buying the painting I just had to have, making a DIY typecase for my daughter, Nanna, and introducing her to Miss Piggy, seeing a fun and multi-ethnic crowd in her doll-house, more macros photos of flowers, and the fact that Nanna has started to draw people and animals, like this green mouse.
Have a great weekend everyone.
