Mitch McConnell will Filibuster Gun Control Bill
Senate Minority Leader Mitch 'Fish Face' McConnell will filibuster the Gun Control bill or the Reid Bill. According to his spokesperson, Mitch will join 15 other fools in this mess.
It's clear that he is trying to save himself with the crazies by joining Rand Paul's gang. I just hope this act of foolishness ends badly for them.
Seriously, do they want to end up on the wrong side of history?

Interesting Quote: Mitch McConnell
"One thing is clear from the president's speech: The era of liberalism is back. His unabashedly far-left-of-center inaugural speech certainly brings back memories of the Democratic Party in ages past. If the president pursued that kind of agenda, obviously it's not designed to bring us together, and certainly not designed to deal with the transcendent issue of our era, which is deficits and debt."

Did you know Mitch McConnell tried to screw up the DADT repeal at the Last Minute
Yes, Mitch McConnell, in a last minute attempt tried to Frak up the DADT repeal. However, was stopped by Sen. Joe Lieberman.
McConnell attempted to add an amendment to the so-called stripped-down defense authorization bill that would have required the consent of the military service chiefs to proceed with "don't ask" repeal. Under legislation passed by the Senate last week, certifications are required from the president, the secretary of defense and the chairman of the joint chiefs of staff. All the incumbents in those positions support repeal.
"It was a McConnell proposal," a GOP aide confirmed. "There was an attempted to get unanimous consent for it to be included in the defense bill and someone objected."
McConnell's amendment, which Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and other GOP senators have been urging for months, called for certifications from the four service chiefs. All of the incumbents in those positions have expressed at least some reservations about repeal at this time.
Repeal advocates have long viewed such an amendment as a poison pill. Presumably, this is what prompted Lieberman's objection. A spokesman for the senator did not immediately respond to an e-mail query Tuesday night. The stripped-down defense bill is proceeding on a unanimous consent basis after most of the controversial aspects were stripped out. Even if such a bill somehow passed with an amendment that threatened "don't ask" repeal prospects, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) would likely refuse to bring it to the floor.
Wow, these cretins just can't stop the foolishness.

Great Hera! Those Sons of Jackals (GOP) are Threatening to Block everything, mostly for the Bush Tax Cuts
Those trifling bastards! The GOP cretins are threatening to block all of the Dems initiatives, including the repeal of DADT.
They even had the nerve to send Sen. Harry Reid a letter, talking about it:
From TPM
This was written by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and signed by all 42 Republicans. They are trying to push as far as can into next year.
Well, Reid received the letter and replied:

Well, Reid received the letter and replied:
"My Republican colleagues...know that the true effect of this letter is to prevent the Senate from acting on many important issues that have bipartisan support. With this letter, they have simply put in writing the political strategy that the Republicans pursued this entire Congress: Namely, obstruct, delay action on critical matters, and then blame the Democrats for not addressing the needs of American people. Very cynical, but very obvious. Very transparent."Let's hope the Dems can move pass this foolishness. And I hope Obama just override their mess and continue with the repeal.

Interesting Quote: President Obama
"At the beginning of the week, a staggering 63 nominees had been stalled in the Senate because one or more senators placed a hold on their nomination. ... And so on Tuesday, I told Senator McConnell that if Republican senators did not release these holds, I would exercise my authority to fill critically-needed positions in the federal government temporarily through the use of recess appointments. ... Since that meeting, I am gratified that Republican senators have responded by releasing many of these holds and allowing 29 nominees to receive a vote in the Senate. While this is a good first step, there are still dozens of nominees on hold who deserve a similar vote, and I will be looking for action from the Senate when it returns from recess. If they do not act, I reserve the right to use my recess appointment authority in the future."
Obama basically telling Sen. McConnell, "I will whoop that ass!"
