Snow Tubing

Good morning everyone.  I found another really cool challenge site called Die Cuttin' Diva's.  This challenge blog requires use of one of my favorite "toys" - my Cricut Expression.  The challenge that I am doing today was to create a fun winter card.  Since here in Maine we just got over 12" of snow I thought this was a very fitting card to try.

I used the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge at size 4.  I used a face stamp from Peachy Keen to make her smiling face.  The embossed snowflake background was created using the Cuttlebug Snowflakes embossing folder, then I brushed over the raised sections with chalk.  The sentiment is from the JustRite Stampers Christmas Joy set with a mat diecut with Spellbinders Deckled Edge Ovals.

Be sure to check out this challenge site.  I know that I will be checking in and playing on a regular basis!

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a great day!

JustRite Challenge - Red, White, and Blue

Good morning everyone! I actually have a project to share with you this morning.  I am still very busy loading the JustRite gallery.  This gallery is FILLED with some amazing projects.  Be sure to check it out here.  Since I am still loading the gallery be sure to check it often to see new entries.

Today I am playing along with the JustRite Friday challenge which happened to be  a sketch challenge along with a color challenge.  The color challenge was to use red, white, and blue in honor of the Fourth of July which is coming right up.  I'm thinking that I am going to use my "card" as a title for a scrapbook page.

To create my sentiment, I chose the 15 point Times Roman Font.  It is stamped with Memento Lady Bug.  The first border is from the "Calendar" stamp set, stamped with Memento Danube Blue.  The next border is from the "Breath Of Spring" set, stamped with Memento Lady Bug.  Each layer is diecut with Spellbinders Classic Ovals and Classic Scallop Ovals.

The stars were created using the Cuttlebug Stars embossing folder, then I added Crystal Stickles to the depressed section of the stars.  Below my sentiment I used the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes embossing folder.

Be sure to give the JustRite weekly challenges a try.  You could be the winner of a JustRite Gift Certificate.  Also be sure to order your copy of the brand new JustRite Catalog.  This catalog is plum full of inspiration.  The entire design team created lots and lots of projects using all of the great stamp sets.  You can order your copy by clicking here.

Cricutters Anonymouse challenge

Good morning.  Today I am playing along with the challenge over at Cricutters Anonymous.  The challenge is to create a gift for a family member.  My project is a gift card holder for my daughter's boyfriend.  Eveyone in our family consider him "family" because he has been around a long time and has become part of our family.  He will be graduating from college in May so we have decided to give him some sort of gift card as a graduation present.  We just have not decided on which one we will get for him.

I searched Splitcoast looking for instructions for making a gift card holder and came across the instructions for a diagonal double pocket card.  This was fairly easy to make and has a perfect slot for a gift card.

My "graduate" was created with my Cricut Expression along with the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.  For the diploma, I stamped the school initials using Brayton 25 point font by JustRite.  My sentiment in the lower righthand side is created using Favorite Occasions borders & centers set (JustRite).  The border was stamped using Versamark and embossed with gold embossing powder.  Each layer is diecut with Spellbinders Classic Circles Nestabilities.  The sentiment "Good Job Nate" was also created with the Brayton 25 point font (JustRite).

To dressup the gold paper, I used the Cuttlebug Stars embossing folder to create stars for the "star student".

Thanks for stopping in for a visit today.  Have a great day!
