Happy Anniversary, Lee and Margaret

Yes, we are celebrating another anniversary this month--this one for our friends Lee and Margaret.  They seem to enjoy my cards, so yesterday I made them a special one for their anniversary.

This one uses the Lattice die, but cut in two long pieces for the left side of the card.  The card itself is Soft Suede with a Bashful Blue layer.  I just be into these colors for aniversary cards (see my last entry with the same colors!)

I used the One-Step Bird punch to make these two bluebirds.  I'm telling you, spring is here and the birds are really starting to sing and fly around our house, so I wanted this spring anniversary card to have two birds on it.  I love how most birds mate for life---Lee and Margaret are celebrating their 42nd anniversary--so another reason to have birds on the card!
Again the sentiment on this card is from the Occasional Quotes Level 3 hostess set.  There are so many nice sentiments in that set!!
I hope Lee and Margaret have another perfect year together!!  Our best wishes to them!!

Happy Anniversary, Dad and Ruth

My dad and his wife recently celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary.  We are so happy for them, because Ruth is in failing health and we are happy for every day they have together.  I wanted to make them a card they both would enjoy.  Here is what I came up with.

The card is Soft Suede with Bashful Blue matting and Whisper White card stront.  I ran the white through my Elegant Lines embossing folder.  I added pearl "jewels" on several of the circles on the embossed piece.
I used the Decorative Label Punch for the sentiment from the Occasional Quotes Level 3 hostess set.  Again more layering for the label.
My dad called to thank me for remembering their day with such a pretty card.  I'm glad they liked it!!

Birthday wishes....

I have several birthdays to acknowledge this month and here is a card I made for two of them. I used three In Colors for this card--the card itself is Peach Parfait, the next layer is Poppy Parade and the top layer is Pear Pizzazz.  I love this color combination.  The designer paper is from the Sunny Garden collection--both the striped piece and the floral piece.   I punched the circle using the new 3-1/2" die from the Occasions Mini.
I punched two flowers using the new Fun Flowers Bigz L Die from the Occasions Mini. I embossed them with embossing folders--the bottom one with the Perfect Polka Dots folder and the top one with the Vintage Wallpaper one.  I sponged Poppy on both of them to add depth.  Love that pear glimmer grad in the middle of the flower, too.
The Birthday Wishes sentiment is from the Occasional Quotes Level 3 Hostess set.  That will be one I'll use a lot.

I hope my friends who get this card like it!! I think it will be a hit!  Smiles, Laura

Occasional Quotes...

Hi! Hope you are having a good day. The card I'm sharing today is made using the new Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi cardstock. I embossed the background with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. I stamped "I'm here for you..." from the Occasional Quotes hostess set and embossed it in white. I punched the flowers using the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack. I added the smallest pearls from the Jewels Basic Pearls set. I just LOVE the Jewels and you will too when you start using them. The backing for the flowers was made using a die from the Lots of Tags die set. That small ribbon is the new 1/8" taffeta ribbon in Marina Mist. (Can you tell I'm going to be using Marina Mist alot!! ha!) I love the white edging on this narrow ribbon.

Thanks for visiting my blog today! Smiles, Laura

Another sample using Riot of Petals

Here is another card I made with a background just like the one I showed you yesterday, but rather than putting the "banner ribbon" across the top of this one, I used the current stampset, Friends Never Fade. I colored the flower on this stamp with the same colors--Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Certainly Celery markers. I sponged the edged with the Bashful Blue. And to this one I added Birthday Wishes from the level 3 Hostess set, Occasional Quotes. That set has tons of neat words and sayings in it. I tied the smaller image on using the new 1/8" ribbon in Daffodil Delight. I think the white edging on the ribbon goes so well with the background. I think this one turned out neat, too.

More Riot of Petals samples tomorrow.... I am so enjoying that retired stamp!!
