Clearsnap and CardMaker Blog Hop

Hello!  I'm so excited to be sharing a couple projects for today's blog hop with Clearsnap and the CardMaker teams.  A big thank you to Clearsnap for sending me a selection of chalk inks to use today.  I appreciate their generosity!

I love the properties of chalk inks.  The colors are so vibrant and dry to a lovely, matte finish.  Clearsnap has such a great variety of colors in this range too.

You should have arrived from Chana Malkah Harris's blog.  I've posted the full list below for all the participants, in case you've missed any stops along the way.

Without further ado, here are my projects.

Many Thanks

I had gratitude in mind today with both of my cards!

I think this card came together in about 15 minutes.  I used Lipstick Red, Cheeky (pink), Chive (green), and Splash (a light turquoise blue color) to stamp this card.  These colors are so cheerful together!

I lightly marked in pencil on a panel of solar white cardstock where I wanted my sentiment to be.  The easiest way to do this is to set the clear sentiment in place without the acrylic block.  The reason I did this was to ensure the sentiment was going to be on top of any flowers added around it.

I stamped the flowers to frame this area and allowed to completely dry.  I then stamped the sentiment.  The quick addition of the leaves and a few dots of Splash ink finishes the card.  It's a fast design that would be also be perfect if you have multiples to make.  You could also swap out the sentiment for a great birthday or anniversary card.

One thing to note is how well these inks work with clear stamps.  Sometimes larger, "flat" images can stamp mottled or unevenly with some inks.  This is just not the case with Clearsnap's chalk inks.  The impression is solid and crisp.  I just love how well they worked!

thanks

This card has a colorful background created from multiple small images.  I used Lipstick Red, Cheeky, and Splash again.  I just LOVE this color combination!  These chalk inks stamp so cleanly and with great saturation of color.

The finished background reminded me of doodles in a notebook, not that I was ever inattentive at school.  ;)

To keep with the school theme, I used an old EK Success punch to add a bit of notebook edge flair.  The bubble letter sentiment seemed like the thing to do and was colored with a Prismacolor Pink (PC929) pencil.

These colors just make me smile!!!

I'd love it if you'd hop along to Kymona Tracey.  To add to the fun, Clearsnap is hosting a giveaway of $50 worth of ColorBox products, so be sure to comment along the way for a chance to win.

Thank you for visiting,
Lisa

Reverse Confetti and CardMaker Blog Hop

Hello everyone! I'm very excited to be joining the Reverse Confetti design team today for a blog hop, featuring their products. They were kind enough to send us products to use!

If Reverse Confetti is new to you, I think you're in for a treat! The products are darling. The images are super cute, the fonts are modern and there are plenty of dies for any type of project. I'm a huge fan and a happy customer. To inspire you, we have a fantastic line-up today of designers with great projects.

You should have arrived from Laurie Schmidlin's blog. However, I've included the entire hop list below in the event you've gotten off track.

I've created two projects to share with you today.

Let's Celebrate

The sentiments of the Celebrations stamp set are really wonderful. I created a quick card with minimal supplies. In fact, I think this would be a great card to create in multiples.

It's impossible to tell in the picture, but I added a bit of shimmer to the stamped confetti before adding the sequins.

Dad

I thought of this as soon as I saw the stitched pocket in the Tie-Rific Confetti Cuts and it translated just as I imagined! It's a pocket card... with a pocket! My dad is a button-down shirt kind of guy and I thought of him as I created. I used a natural white cardstock to match the off-white buttons. And the white center panel reminded me of dad's undershirts. ;)

The pocket card was created from a 4.25" x 11" strip of cardstock. I scored at 5.5" (just like a top-folding card). I used a super-strong adhesive to adhere the sides of together. However, the deviation in this version is to fold down one corner for my collar.

Of course, the little pocket is a perfect place to tuck an added sentiment. I inked each word separately, stamped, and cleaned carefully before repeating with the second word. It's just as easy to cut the stamps apart, if you don't mind a little polymer surgery.

I did keep both cards fairly simple, but hope you enjoyed.

The next stop in our hop is the lovely and talented Heather Pulvirenti. I believe there will be a prize with this hop ($25 gift certificate), announced on the Reverse Confetti blog.

Thank you for visiting! Have a great day!

Lisa

CardMaker and American Crafts Blog Hop

Hello everyone!

I'm incredibly excited to be posting a project today with the CardMaker blog team, featuring projects using the Amy Tangerine Better Togethercollection from American Crafts.

You should have arrived from the CardMaker blog.  The full hop list is below so you can view all the great projects today.  We'd love it if you joined along!

I have a ton of pictures... are you ready for this?

This paper was just amazing!  I love pretty papers and it seems like ages since I've delved into a paper collection.  And wow, what a joy!

My project is a small stationary set with a matching box to house the cards.  It's a simple box, but I'd like to step this out a bit so you can recreate it.

First, here's the box template with score line measurements and what sections to cut:

Score, cut and fold along the dotted lines as pictured above.  Round the corners of the flap closure and the base of the box for a professional look.

The result is a simple box that will hold either 3 cards + envelopes or 6 completed cards.  If your stationary set has bulky embellishments, you'll find that fewer fit.

This is a picture of my card box.  Because I just LOVED the paper, I opted to keep the box simple in white cardstock and added the patterned paper to the flap.  To keep the flap in place, I used a magnet.  And I just LOVE that floral pattern.

I created a total of 6 cards with all the same base layout.

Here's the first three... All with that amazing Knot + Bow paper floral paper!

The next set, also with the same layout, featured the Push + Pull pattern.

This little set will make a great impromptu gift for a friend.  It will give them a smile and when they use the cards, they are passing it on to others!

If you've made it through this gallery of projects, thank you!  Please visit Pamela Haskin to see what loveliness she has in store!

CardMaker and May Arts Blog Hop

Hello everyone!  Thanks for joining me today for the CardMaker Magazine blog team and May Arts Blog hop, featuring Valentine's Day cards.  I'm very excited to be joining a very talented list of artists and have two projects to share.

Today's projects are all about the ribbon!  My first card features three different ribbons for maximum texture.

Love:

  1. Trim a card panel to 4" x 5.25" from 80# Neenah Solar White cardstock
  2. Die cut a heart into the panel * I centered it and placed closer to the top of the panel.
  3. Create a top-folding card from 110# Neenah Solar White cardstock with a finished size of 4.25" x 5.5"
  4. Place the heart-opening card panel on the card base and mark lightly the opening with a pencil
  5. Adhere strips of ribbon on the card base to cover the area of the heart window  * I alternated the glitter and rosette ribbons and did not go all the way to the edge of the card base.
  6. Add a double layer of foam tape to the card panel around the heart opening.  Place on the card base.
  7. Die cut "love" sentiment and snip the word from the heart frame to remove. Adhere to the front.
  8. Embellish with one red sequin heart (bonus - it has adhesive on the back!)
Because this has a bit of bulk, it will either require extra postage or will need to be hand delivered.

X's & O's:

My second card is a small round card and came together quickly.  I plan to make a few more to tuck into lunches.
  1. Die cut two circles from the Cross-Stitched Circles by MFT (here are my X's and O's!) from 110# Neenah Solar White cardstock
  2. Score one of the circles at 0.5" and add a strong adhesive to this portion.  Secure to the other circle to form the card base
  3. Die cut a heart from red cardstock
  4. Prep the heart with an anti-static tool and stamp with "HUGS & KISSES" sentiment with Versamark ink.  Cover with white embossing powder and heat set
  5. Adhere the heart to the card base with foam tape
  6. Embellish with a red sequin, self-adhesive heart
  7. Knot a small amount of gold sheer ribbon and adhere with a glue dot to complete the card
