Creative Confetti Free For All Challenge

I nearly forgot Creative Confetti this week - LOL!  This week we had only one place to be - everything else canceled or online.  Can't remember the last time we had four days in a row virtually free to do whatever!!!!  This week's Creative Confetti Challenge is a Free For All using a Power Poppy image.  As my hubby is a golfer in an Old-Timers' league, I need a sympathy card from time to time.  I really like to make the card personal, but couldn't find an appropriate image for Golfer Sympathy.  I did find a golf club from Clipart Xtras - so I added the golf club to the beautiful Power Poppy Graceful Still Life - I also removed the hat and books from the original image.  This is a perfect way to honor my hubby's golf buddies.  I embellished with ribbon/bow, pearls, and additional flowers fussy cut from Graceful Still Life

Creative Confetti Free for All Challenge

I can't believe it's already 2020! Kind of happy, though, that I don't have to take down Christmas decorations, since we didn't get any up this year. When I saw the tower card at our SALSA meeting, I immediately knew what image I wanted to use...Irresistible Peonies from Power Poppy (definitely one of my favorites to color!)
The card is a fancy-fold card (which, as usual, doesn't show off well in photos).  The sentiment comes from So Fontsy (Gather Together).  This is a new fold for me - Tower Card - I'm quote fond of it.  The patterned paper We Are 3 (Fairy Backgrounds).

Eclips Users Group October Challenge

Here's a project I did with my favorite tool - the Eclips. I've kind of always wanted some Wall Art Sayings - but not sure what to do. I received this beautiful painting for my birthday. My hubby wanted it in the kitchen, along with the framed artist bio next to it. He wanted it placed on the wall where people didn't have to climb over chairs to get a good look....which left half the wall bare. So I decided to try my hand at Wall Art. When I had the quote on the cutting mat, I worried it would be far too large for the wall, even though I measured "carefully."  Hah! It's far too small! My hubby's fix is to hang our wedding wall hanging....but I didn't quite leave enough for it to fit. Not liking the look - but perhaps after the holidays I will remove the quote and attempt an off-the-mat quote - nice and large - and hopefully in a nicer arrangement that allows me to hang the wedding wall hanging.

Monday Greetings Challenge - We Are 3 Houndstooth

The challenge this Monday over at The Outlawz is Anything Goes.  I don't like to create cards for Anything Goes (I like a challenge) - but it works out perfectly when I happen to make a fave card on the same day!  I used Houndstooth Neutral  - scaled at different sizes - for the patterns on my card.  I like the coordinated look - then I bordered it with a contrasting floral border and added a flower and sparkly leaves.

Eclips Users Challenge - Grinch Christmas Countdown - Millers MAD Creations

Merry Christmas to All! Here's a gift I needed to get finished early. It will accompany tickets to go see The Grinch movie - so wanted it to be an early Christmas gift. This is also for this year's last challenge at the Sizzix Eclips Users Group - Anything Goes. There are so many fun Grinch crafting ideas out there. This particular file is from Millers MAD Creations. The chalkboard frame is from Target. Now to figure out what's next on my Christmas shopping/crafting list!!

Hand-Drawn Stars and Bubbles

Hello, Everyone!  I hope you've had a great week!  I can't believe it's Saturday - AGAIN! Our joke is that every day is Saturday when you're retired - First Saturday, Second Saturday...  Wow, the Saturday's just keep flying by!  This is even more pronounced when you realize your youngest child turned 30 years old recently!  Ashley is really my stepdaughter - but to think she's been in my life since she was 13!  Hmmm....maybe next year I'll have to do something really special - from 13 to 31!

But this year?  Well, I used this special occasion to design my card for the Paper Ala Mode Challenge at The Outlawz - Anything Goes!  Come join in the challenge - you have until next Friday enter!  Hope to see you there!

I used Hand-Drawn Star and Bubbles from Odd Ball Art for Ashley's birthday card.  I colored all the bubbles dark green - and the stars a shade or two lighter.  I resized the image and layered it several times to make the festive background of my card.  Then just a simple 30th birthday sentiment to finish it off.
Boy, if you're looking for a great digital stamp for making a celebration card, this is awesome!  Check this image out!

Merry Christmas from the Elf

Think of all the simple, fun things you can create with ribbon!  Really Reasonable Ribbon's current challenge #155 is Anything Goes.  For a scrappin' Christmas gift swap, I received an embossing folder with great witch's feet.  Probably because I was in the midst of making Christmas cards, I started seeing elve's feet....so here is my card with elve's feet and silky skirt ruffle made from ribbon.  Also on my to-do list are princess feet and bride's feet.

A Swingin' Christmas

These Christmas cards are for my hubby's favorite golf partners.  The three of them are like Larry, Moe and Curley.  LOL!  For this first card I used Tim Holtz Ideal-ology cardstock for the stocking, embossed golf clubs from SVG Cuts (Fun and Games)  and Power Poppy Hollyberries.

My second card "sports" a golf-ball ornament.  Ideal-ogy cardstock is used for the background - the additional ornament is from Miss Kate Cuttables (Vintage Ornaments).

My Arizona Layout

I'm back again today, sharing layout inspiration with Arizona as my topic.
Who could narrow down such a wonderful trip to four photos.  So in the lower right corner is a little door hiding a Stkr.It which allows me to add hundreds of photos, videos, music through the use of a QR Scan Code.  If you haven't used these - check them out!

Digital Embellishment

With this post, you can see how easy it is to create a clean-and-simple card using a digital image.  Intended to be a congratulations card, the inside sentiment is "Holy Cow!"  The image is "I Love Moo" from Kadoodle Bug Designs.

March Scraps

I have become a master of saving all kinds of scraps.  Today, I put aside an hour or so devoted just to figuring out how to use some of that pile.  Most cards aren't worth sharing - but I'm pretty pleased with these two.

Challenges Entered:

Layered Paper Play

This layout is inspired by the challenge at One Stitch at a Time #254 - Anything Goes with Tic Tac Toe.  I chose the top row - three of more layers, lots of blue, and pearls.

I used Bo Bunny Double Dots Brilliant Blue for a fun and bold background and a variety of layers.  Strip pearls add a subtle finishing touch along some edges.

Happy Birthday!

Shapes are ideal for adding interest to your cards.  Attach multiple layers of cardstock in different shapes - then use a simple flower (I'm using a Posy from Heartfelt Creations) to embellish it.
